Ms.Elaine’s kind and firm approach effectively train kid with good learning habit, which range from kid knowing class rules by heart, laying solid foundation for piano basics, empowering kid to own the responsibility of practicing, and encouraging kid to explore and even compose at young age. We really appreciate that Ms.Elaine could keep the perfect balance of firm about expectation and standard, while presenting to kid in a kind and encouraging way. Getting the right hand shape was not easy for our 5yr old, who even wanted to give up since she got frustrated with herself. But thanks to Ms.Elaine, we made it through and she now really enjoying playing piano and even started to figure out the notes for familiar tunes herself. Ms. Elaine is a thoughtful, fun and professional piano teacher. She works hard to find ways that motivate kids to understand techniques. Her style has more parent involvement but it really helps to coach your little one along. With the pandemic, she has seamlessly transitioned and is very helpful with reminders or accommodations. She is a great teacher!

My son has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Elaine for 8 months now. He has solid improvement on piano skills and more importantly, he continues to find piano fun to play.Ms. Elaine is very patient and good at motivating kids to play and includes lots of fun elements in the lesson. Both of my kids have learned from Ms. Elaine for about 5 months and they like her so much! Ms. Elaine not only teaches them the piano skills but also teaches them etiquette. She knows how to motivate kids very well and can adapt her teaching method according to the kids needs. For my son who is older, she gives him more instructions on how to adjust the music notes and perform in a way to express the right feeling; and for my daughter, who is still young, she makes the class very fun and focuses on inspiring her interests. In only 5 months, both kids have made big progress, and more importantly, after taking the classes with Ms. Elaine, both kids love to play piano and have made it a habit to play everyday. Ms. Elaine works with young kids in a unique, exceptional way. She does not just focus on how each individual kid can learn at their best, but more importantly how much they enjoy and have fun along the way. In addition to teaching students how to play the music properly, Ms. Elaine also provides guidance on composing. I can confidently say all this because I have sat with my son at each lesson for over 4 years, since he was 5. As parents, our utmost goal is to see our kid learn music with passion, and we have owed that to Ms. Elaine, who has created and provided a music nurturing environment to our son.

We found Elaine through thumbtack and i am so glad we did! She helped my 4.5 years old get familiar with Piano through fun techniques and a lot of patience. Within 6 months my daughter is able to read notes and play some basic songs and she does that with a lot of interest. Elaine has the right combination of discipline and fun that works effectively with kids. She also makes them do the recitals at senior center which is such a nice gesture of contributing to our communities.

Ms. Elaine did an initial interview with my 6 year old daughter, who had been having lessons when her teacher decided to go back to a 9-5 job. Elaine reviewed the old books my daughter was using, which luckily she uses too, to see what her level of understanding from her previous lessons was. She used some super fun and cute toys and tablet apps to test her. So far my daughters lessons are going well. She really loves the various incentives that Elaine uses. She gets very excited to stamp her pages when shes completed one. She loves to practice everyday to earn more stamps each week. Elaine was very accommodating to help fit us in her schedule and gave us options to find what worked for us. Her prices are really good and about the same average as other teachers in this area. I would recommend Ms. Elaine to anyone looking for lessons for their children, especially their beginners.

My son and I have been working with Elaine for almost a year now. He was five years old when he started. She is a wonderful teacher who really knows how to work well with young children. She has a wide array of teaching tools at her disposal and uses them well. My son has been really enjoying his lessons, learning the proper way to play the piano and having lots of fun in the process.

Ms. Elaine is very detail oriented and helps the kids build up a solid foundation. She also designs all those little fun games/activities to make basic knowledge learning interesting.

Elaine is great! she knows what shes doing, she loves her job and finds always the best way to motivate and engage my kids. Ms. Elaine is a phenomenal teacher!Heres why she stands out from the rest:1) She genuinely cares. Shes very devoted to her students and spends so much time outside of class helping our kids have the best experience. Whether its researching best practices, looking for the best prizes for the students prize box, finding ways to help the students be more well-rounded musicians, making compliment books for the kids, etc., she is always working hard for us.2) Shes very enthusiastic. Im amazed at her energy and how shes able to stay so positive. This is especially important when you work with kids. She has a special way of getting the best out of her students.3) Her methods work. I dont know of any other teacher that asks parents to have such an active role (I am asked to not only actively attend the lesson but also to help my son each time he practices) but after seeing the success she has had, I think many more will start.I cannot believe the incredible progress my son has made in the last year and half. I am certain with any other teacher, he would not have made such gains. I also like all her strategies. She has the greatest tips and creative ideas for how to approach musical concepts. My son really likes her (and his younger brothers cant wait to start) and he has become a great little pianist...cant beat that!
