Great place to go with a friend to hang out for tasty coffee or wide selection of teas w/space to chat & grab an available board game - or bring your own. If going solo, borrow a book or people-watch to enjoy. If working, you can probably find an outlet to charge your computer. P.S. Helpful service.The bar has a nice atmosphere & friendly (its true) bartenders. Live music has started again w/ open mics on Weds. Havent made it back for that yet but intend to get there soon.And if you didnt know, Friendly is also a music school. Beneficial triple threat!

If you are a Coffee or tea snob this little charming neighborhood Bar/Music School offers a quiet nice place to hang out in the mornings and enjoy a small menu (Gluten free muffins homemade) of items along with what I think is the best Coffee and Tea in the Neighborhood. They use Todd and Holland teas and a local coffee roaster from Chicago. The atmosphere is a small lounge with board games high tops and tables.

Great little friendly place

This is my happy place. The coffee is excellent, the music is always somewhere between make me smirk and ugh I love this and the atmosphere makes me feel so connected to my neighborhood. So grateful for its presence!

Great mix of legendary local musicians and quality up-and-coming artists. No matter the night, live music and welcoming atmosphere combine for an enjoyable experience, and you cant beat the staff. Were lucky to have the Friendly Tap in our community.

Friendly staff, average liquor selection with ok prices the setup is like going back in time to the 70s but in a good way, the live music on the tiny stage was really cool! If you want nostalgia go here!!!

This review has nothing to do with the Friendly Tap itself because its a nice place. I parked and got out of my car and was walking pass on 8/17/19. A middle aged caucasian man was entering this tavern at 9:53pm and assaulted me a female by elbowing me in my side as I walked to Ginas for no reason at all. Not sure if he was having bad night but sir never put your hands or elbow in your case on a female or anyone else if they didnt touch you. Its a public side walk and open to everyone. I started to call the police but wouldnt bring that type of negative attention to your business. Instead I chose to pray for the ignorant gentleman and let everyone else in Tavern enjoy there drinks without the police entering the building.

Great coffees

Absolutely the greatest bar in the world. when god conceived of a tavern this is what he had in mind. Cheap brews, great music, friendly characters, laughing, dancing, live bands, artists, comedians, world class bartenders, games, coffee, a bummed cigarette, maybe more than that, a girls number, a fellas address, a community, a movie, a story, a song, a poem, a joke a pizza a never ending story.

First time visiting for live music fundraisers event nice place and Great music! Will return to check out the coffee shop another time.

OK place to grab a cheap drink and hang out. Older, local crowd. Yes, pretty friendly.

Stopped in here for a couple drinks with friends. Its a very old place, a little run down, with mainly locals for their clientele it would seem. The drinks were average priced but very weakly poured IMO. The mens room has just a toilet and the sink is outside the bathroom in the bar area which is kind of strange. The bartender was friendly though :)
