I am serious when I say Kicks Karates instructors are the BEST we have met so far. They will go above and beyond to encourage your kids! My kids are not sporty kids and they tried a lot of different sport classes for years with no good results. Eventhough its challenging to make them participate, Mr David and Mr Justin never give up :) We are really grateful and wish we could rate it with 10 stars!

This is a great place for younger kids, the space feels larger to them. The instructors are friendly, kind and motivated. My children really enjoyed their time here. It can be crowded at times but there is great energy

From day one, Kicks Karate instructors have made a great impact on our son. He gained self confidence, developed self discipline and flourished in front of our eyes. I have been coming to the kickboxing classes since August. The environment is very positive and non-judgmental. The instructors are very professional and motivating. I had no prior martial arts or kickboxing experience but they made me feel very welcome and they inspired me to learn. I feel mentally and physically healthier. I highly recommend Kicks Karate.

Awesome Martial Arts Studio for all ages! All of the instructors are amazing. They are highly skilled and so supportive of everyone. Kickboxing is also offered and it is a lot of fun and a great workout. My family highly recommends Kicks Karate - Old Georgetown Rd in Bethesda.

Great operation! Organized, fun and well-run. Tony Tigers helps my son with listening and following directions. My son is 4 and LOVES it! Mr. Justin is the BEST! Watching the class is extremely entertaining for the adults!

The Bethesda Old Georgetown center is a great place to learn Karate. Both my sons go there for the last 10years or little less. Both received Black belts under the great master instructors. They not only learned the skills, developed character, made lasting friends and also learned to respect their peers and teachers. The dedication and love of the teachers for the students is outstanding.

Love this place. Friendly instructors for both kids and adults. Initially signed up my Son for Karate and eventually signed up myself for the Kickboxing class. I love it.

I started the Kickboxing class almost 2 years ago and it has been life changing! I never enjoyed working out and was intimidated by gyms. The staff at Kicks make you feel comfortable and truly care about your health and success. The other students are motivating and friendly. Each instructor brings something different to the class, It never gets stale. Anyone who is thinking about trying a class should do so. Get ready for an awesome journey!!

My son loves this place, can’t wait for his practice each time. Mr. Justin, Mr. Iggi and others are great coaches, they are so friendly, nice and helpful (they teach kids not only karate, but also how to respect each other, behave and help).

My son Hazar really made great progress in karate both mentally and physically. Instructors are very knowledable in children psyhology, and know how to motivate them. I believe learning self defense will be an important asset for hazar. Soon i plan also to enroll my daughter.

The most important element of a martial arts school for children, is how well the instructors relate to their students. Led by Mr Justin, this team teaches the kids how to enjoy their training and I would heartily recommend them to any parent.

Agreed that the 9 month contract is a scam. No reason for that. Also, the teaching is pretty inconsistent with some turnover among staff. My child liked it at times, and it wasnt a bad experience at all, but I really didnt have the impression that the teaching is professional or first rate.

Kicks Karate Bethesda is terrific! The instructors are patient and engaging, and the kids have fun.

You should never sign your child up for a 9 month contract!This review has both negative and positive. Ive also listened to a few parents talk to the instructors. I dont think anyone would disagree with what I have written, unless you havent missed a sessionContract I signed was for 9 months, attend twice a week, anytime. Anytime? Amazing?Not really, for 9 months in a row, impossible. You will be paying for unattended sessions.I did sign the contract, I will suck it up, but you shouldnt have too.The Negative:5 months in, it becomes hard to get my daughter to go, among 1 or two weeks of vacation, throw in a sick week or two, and maybe 1 or 2 busy weeks. BOOM you are 8 sessions behind within the 1st 5 months.When I signed the contract, I asked what happens if she doesnt enjoy it any more? (9 consecutive months, twice a week, is a long time) The answer, we will work through it. This means, you will pay extra for them to make your child like it. And you are still going to have to deal with getting them there.1-Belt test, $40 and your kid gets excited about moving up,2-You are behind on sessions, we will do a private lesson, 3 missed =1 private. Yip you re still paying for it.Instead of paying $18 /30 min, its now $52/30 min for a 4 year old.The PositiveAll the staff are great with the kids, they are firm, but keep the class fun. My child has enjoyed probably every class, once I have convinced her to go. I rarely see a child not like it. And if a child is shy or afraid, they will do everything they can to make them enjoy it. Naughty kids are put in their place.ConclusionMy experience: I will never sign my child up for anything for 9 months, because I end up suffering.My daughters experience: After a few months its hard to get her there, but she enjoys every session.After 9 months they will do anything to keep you coming back. A friend just finished his 9 month sentence and they tried to get them to stay with monthly options and once a week options. Where were these options when I signed up?
