Just started taking my oldest son here for lessons. He was a little nervous and shy on his first day. He got through most of it but wanted to disengage toward the end. The instructors were great with him throughout the lesson and one of them talked with me and my son afterwards. I think this is going to be a great place for my kids and looking forward to having it help build confidence.

Our son visited Prodigy on a Friday and participated in a review class with various teachers and multiple-level students, and it was an excellent experience! We were greeted at the door, treated very caringly by the involved, warm staff, and he was allowed to participate in the nights class for free. He spent the time training with other students and the teachers who led the class, and we left after the class with a confidence and assurance that this dojo was a wonderful place to build my sons self-defense, self-discipline, and core strength skills. We are now members of Prodigy and will be attending there a few days a week :)I highly recommend Prodigy for friendliness and the thoughtful, developmentally-appropriate instruction of Jiu-Jitsu.

My son is new to Prodigy, so we do not have a great knowledge of the place. But every time we have been there, the kids are welcoming to my kid, as are the parents to me. All the parents have great things to say about the gym. The staff there are amazing, friendly, and professional. We look forward to a long time stay!

Prodigy is a great environment for all levels, beginners to black belts. The instructors/owners take pride in their school, which is a really nice facility. Starting anything new can be intimidating, but everyone is very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. If you want to learn jiu jitsu or muay thai, this is the place to do it.

My 13yr old son and I have been going to Prodigy for BJJ for about 3 months now. We feel like part of the family and we are obsessed with BJJ. The instructors all offer different perspectives into an art form that is boundless. We are totally hook. We love that there are kids his age and size that can still be in the adult class. The facility is top notch and feels super professional.

Went in for a Muay Thai class, the instructor was very patient and helpful, they spent almost all of the time on actual technique vs. conditioning like a lot of gyms will do. Spending time on conditioning in an hour long class is a waste of time in my opinion, conditioning should be done on your own time.Overall great experience here, one of the best martial arts gyms Ive ever been to!

I am so glad that I decided to have my first experience with martial arts be with Prodigy. Having absolutely no clue what I was getting myself into with jiu jitsu, I was very nervous at first. I learned very quickly that I had nothing to worry about. Prodigy has a very welcoming environment. The instructors are friendly and take the time to work with me 1 on 1 to make sure I understand the moves we are learning. Even the more experienced participants will help me learn as well. I would highly recommend Prodigy to anyone looking to get into martial arts!

At the time of this writing, today marks the 1 year anniversary of my membership at Prodigy. My time here has been absolutely stellar. My family owns and operates a business nearby, so I just popped in on a whim. When I first walked in the door, I was greeted very warmly by Professor Justin. I had to do a double take, because with his colorful full sleeve tattoos, hair style and physical build, Prof. Justin bears a striking resemblance to one of my favorite UFC fighters; Eddie Wineland... Anyways, I didnt expect to jump in on a class, having not brought a change of clothes, but I took the opportunity to join in on a muay thai lesson. The instant my shin hit those thai pads, I knew I needed this in my life. Ive always had a love for martial arts. As a kid, I took a bit of karate, getting up to orange belt. Other than that, I have little to no athletic experience and was never very active... I think I tried out for soccer in 7th grade, but thats about it. No matter what level of experience you have, Prodigys wonderful instructors will work with you to make you better. I am a 34 year old man. When I first walked in those doors, I weighed 220 lbs. Very over weight for a man of my height. Pretty dang out of shape. With Prodigys help, I am down to 155 lbs. I feel great, better than I have ever felt. And I mean that in both a physical and mental sense. At a conventional gym, its a very isolating...lonely experience. You put your earbuds in and hit the weights or cardio equipment by yourself. You have little interaction with the other gym goers. This is not the case at martial arts gyms like Prodigy. At Prodigy, youll hold and hit pads with your partners, drill techniques with them. Roll, practice, grow with them. All of the instructors are super friendly on and off the mats and just excellent pillars of the community outside of Prodigy as well. By no means is it hyperbole when I say that signing up at Prodigy has been the best decision Ive made in my life.

My husband teaches here, and has been trying to get me to take self defense classes with him for years, and I just wasnt interested or comfortable before Prodigy. Ive been taking the Muay Thai Kickboxing classes here, and have been loving it. I would recommend the classes here to anyone who has been looking for a fun way to workout, or is interested in learning some self defense. Ive never enjoyed working out before, but now I look forward to going to the gym each week.

If you ever thought about trying out Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai, and always felt intimidated walking in the door... do not hesitate to go to Prodigy Martial Arts in Blaine. The facility is spotless, cleaned daily, and doesn’t have the sweat smell of the usual warehouse gym. The owners and professors are so friendly and inviting. You immediately feel like you belong. Because of the owners and the community they created, it really does feel like the friendliest most welcoming place to workout. Especially when you’re feeling insecure about being out of shape or needing to lose a few pounds. Everyone is very helpful and kind and willing to share their knowledge with anyone and everyone who walks through the door.My son and I followed the professors from our prior location and were one of the first students. My son just did the class before and never got excited about learning Jiu Jitsu before, he went because I brought him. Since Prodigy opened, he has so much confidence, loves going to Jiu Jitsu, gets into learning each technique and skill and how to use it properly plus he feels like part of the gang. The upper belts and even Black belts roll with him as well as anyone interested who wants to roll after class. That made him love it even more. As a forty something mom, I love knowing that my son and I are learning skills that can help us in everyday situations and also love how much fun we have doing it. Your mind is focusing on the moves you are doing and you don’t realize how hard your body is working and getting into shape. It’s an incredible workout. And I love that Prodigy has made it fun and inviting for the beginner and those who want to just enjoy their workout as well as those who want advance in the sport. They also just added a new Women’s Self Defense class. I love that they have a workout area if you want to lift before or after class. The Muay Thai class is another fun workout that keeps the variety in your workouts. The variety of knowledge and skill of the professors is unmatched around the Twin Cities. Hands down the cleanest, friendliest, most professional martial arts studio in town.Drop everything and bring your whole family, friends, and neighbors, you won’t regret it!!!

Theres so much to share about my experience with Prodigy Martial Arts so far. The instructors are as knowledgeable as they are welcoming, and they are extremely knowledgeable! I guarantee you that any anxiety or reservations you might have about trying a class will immediately fade away after that first class. The instructors understand that each individual is on their own journey and has their own goals. Some simply want to be in better shape, some may want to compete in a jiu-jitsu tournament, some want to learn self-defense, some just want an excuse to get out of the house and escape the daily grind. Whatever they are for YOU, Prodigy Martial Arts can help facilitate that. I promise, the only regret you will feel after attending a class of your choice (or both!) is wishing you would have started sooner. Give them a call today!

Not your typical McDojo or MMA Gym. I have trained at numerous gyms prior to finding Prodigy. I have been blown away by the quality of BJJ training and the community feel of this gym, always welcoming, humbling, and open to new students. The instructors are top notch and each brings a different approach to training that keeps things fresh day in and day out.Overall, my most resounding endorsement is that this is the first gym that I have felt comfortable bringing my daughter to participate and learn with and we have smiles each time we leave the mats, even after a hard session.

This gym is an excellent facility. The mats are brand new and top quality as are the heavy bags and changing rooms. There is no need for a separate gym membership because there is a full gym included with your membership. There are always black and brown belt instructors at every class, usually 4 or more, which few other academies have. The culture of respect and cleanliness make learning here fun and safe. You won’t find a more welcoming program whether you want to learn jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, or just have a fun way to get in shape.
