My three kids and I train here every week. Great people, truly knowledgeable instructors and a really sense of community. This is a great place.

Afro Brazilian Cultural Center of New Jersey is a great place to learn Capoeira, Zumba, Samba, Yoga, etc and this place is welcoming to anyone of all-age. The classes at the academy are engaging, fun, exciting, and you wont be able to stop learning AND playing. Plus, the environment is very friendly and the teachers are professionals; you can learn a great deal of skills, lessons, and activities from these guys. I have spent my time training with my capoeira teachers and students and I can tell that you wont be disappointed. Highly recommended to anyone!

I have been taking Capoeira classes here since 2007 and I can honestly say that the Capoeira here is awesome. The teacher Mestre Gaivota is a wealth of knowledge in both the physical side of this awesome martial art but also on the history and music side as well. The community that has grown here over the years has become like a second family. I have watched some of the students literally grow up before my eyes. Not only will you learn this awesome martial art there but you will be instilled with a sense of community and grow as a person. While I have been focusing on Capoeira the studio also has a variety of other classes as well.

My son has been part of the ABCCNJ family from first grade to his present 11th. Meistre Gaivota is a great leader whose motto If youre not smiling, youre doing it wrong is infectious! There is a great spirit about this place and the capoeristas who make it a community. Capoeira is a beautiful art, and a cultural, musical and physical activity all in one.
