WMS has teachers and administrators who put the students first and care deeply about the development of the whole child (academically, physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually) and address (rare, but inevitable) problems promptly, thoughtfully, thoroughly.WMS is an independent school whose leadership has reliably demonstrated it’s adaptability to increasingly dynamic local, national, global circumstances.I can’t imagine a better outcome for my son and daughter who attended Pre-K through Middle School at WMS.

My son is in a lower elementary class (mixed age 1st-3rd grade class). I was immediately impressed with the school during our prospective student tour. The student guide, a 3rd grader assigned to my child, was well-spoken and kind. The classroom was quiet; all the children were working independently or in pairs. They seemed very engaged. We enrolled our son for first grade. Our next experience with the classroom was on his birthday when my husband and I were invited to bring photos of our child from each year of his life. The kids sat in a circle while my son walked around the circle holding each photo. All the kids were so polite and asked many questions about the photo. Afterward, there were many kids that volunteered to help my son pass out his birthday treats. It was obvious that they kids are kind to each other. As of late, I have become even more impressed by the schools handling of COVID-19. The remote learning that started last spring was a smooth transition for us as parents and for my child. I enjoyed seeing my sons interactions with his teachers on zoom. They are patient and caring. Theyre able to teach difficult concepts--he was learning long subtraction with regrouping in first grade over zoom!I appreciate the open communication lines I have with the teachers. Emails are answered very quickly (within the same day) and we are also able to communicate using the SeeSaw app.My son is now back in in-person school. I appreciate how safely and thoughtfully they have opened the school back up. WMS has been a blessing to our family.

Yeah it’s a good school, and they have good teachers, but the learning is slow, and there are many things that could be improved on. I do not want my name so you probably won’t find a Jeff Anderson in your system. I would say that going to a normal public school, and getting into a quest program or something will get you more higher than going to school. (If you have that knowledge.) I enjoyed this school, and I left it because I thought that I had a better chance some where elsewhere.P.S. my real name happens to be ZvubspThis is encoded by my own code

In all honesty this is how I would assess WMS.Pros:-The student population and those of the families come from a good and diverse background. This was an aspect that my entire family enjoyed.-The school always celebrated various cultural/religious holidays/events which we enjoyed and appreciated.-The school is extremely clean and safe environment. We felt comfortable leaving our children there during after school club hours.-The school environment was cozy and my kids did enjoy their duration there.-The Fig classroom for Toddlers (18 mo. - 2 years) is unbeatable. The content taught and the environment cannot be beat by the likes of Bright Horizons or any other institution/school. If considering only Toddler program I would rate it as 5 stars and would happily pay for my children to attend.-The close family connections as well as connections with some of the teachers made over the years (2015-2020) are still going strong and much treasured.Cons:-Very expensive when you consider the academic content that was delivered. (We pulled my eldest prior to entering kindergarten)-At early childhood level (age 3-6), myself and other families I knew of had to supplement academics with Kumon, Singapore Math Club, Sylvan etc.-For the tuition level, I would have expected basic arithmetic and reading to have been stronger than what it was. It was really me and my wifes efforts and supplemental instruction from the likes of Singapore Math, etc that kept our kid at academic baseline for her age group.-So much emphasis on Gala and donations. I wish there was the same emphasis on academics.-For the tuition levels, we would have expected a more rigorous AND consistent teaching of a 2nd foreign language (the school taught one year French and then made a full-on switch to Spanish abandoning what was taught the previous year in French)As a comparison, we know of others that attended other private schools in the local area who were entering Kindergarten reading at levels far above what I witnessed at this school. The math curriculum at the pre-K class of these other private schools also went beyond what I observed at WMS.Safe, clean and welcoming school, BUT I did not see the return on investment with my eldest. Had I seen that, we would have kept my children there for the long haul as the education of the next generation is a worthwhile investment. If it wasnt for the tuition rate, I would have rated the school as 3 Stars, but when you couple the content taught with the annual tuition charged, it is difficult for me to rate any higher than a 2 star. Once again it is my own opinion, but those are my honest sentiments.

My child got bullied at this school he was physically struck, spat on and verbally abused on a daily basis for several months, staff did not help, all they care about is money and fund raising and getting gifts!Would give them minus stars if possible!Parents not allowed to talk to each other as per page 4 of the school handbook, clear violation of the first amendment of the US Constitution of freedom of speech.Same page says your children are liars and not to be trusted, as kids are not objective!!Contrary to what every kid normally does without even thinking, which is tell it how it literally is.Each time he was bullied, the only punishment the bully got was to say sorry, the next day it would happen again. This on-going issue was never escalated, or taken serious by the staff. The kid doing the bully also did the same to other kids in the classroom, however those kids did not report it, so the school never took action on it.The bullying took it toll on my child, loss of appetite, nightmares, not wanting to go back to school. In the end we exhausted all avenues of communication with the school, they simply do not have the skills, experience or desire to solve the problem. And in response to the owner, my child was registered under his fathers family name.I have school classroom pictures, bank payments, seesaw app pics, emails communications, voicemail from school teachers - all to prove that my child did attend this school.

My eldest son is in his fifth year, and our youngest is in his second. We cannot be happier with their progress. The perfect sign of the quality of education is when my eldest son was reading full chapter books before he entered kindergarten and started 1st grade understanding multiplication, division, and negative numbers. We plan to keeping both kids at WMS as long as we can.

My son has been attending WMS for the past 4 years and we could not be happier. This is more than an education, this school does everything possible to foster the students personal and individual growth in all aspects of life. Students are exposed to a wide variety of topics so that they can develop an appreciation for the world around them. They are never held back so that others in their grade can catch up; nor are they pushed beyond their individual capabilities. As they progress to new grades, they are given the opportunity and responsibility to help and guide younger students, which develops critical leadership skills. The staff find the right balance between showing high expectations of each child while simultaneously providing whatever level of support is necessary to help each child reach their maximum potential. Learning is hands-on and practical, which is something I wished I had more of when I was in school. Classes are small enough to provide the level of attention that every student needs and deserves. If you want the very best education for your child possible, do not hesitate to send them to WMS.

Great education system, not enough sports, same PE activity everyday, good bathrooms, great lounge area, community meetings everyday so if you have an issue it can be brought up almost immediately. This school is wheelchair accessible, easy to see from main road. does have a play ground for EC and another one for 3rd through 6th graders. this school does not have a gym although there are plans to put one in some time in the next few years. when ever we do not go outside for PE we are forced to do yoga (some of us are not as flexible as others). We have projectors in almost all classrooms. great science labs where you can conduct science experiments safely and with supervision. The language programs are growing each year, so far there is Spanish which is very good, there is Japanese which is new and still in experimental stages and there are different options on a student by student basis if you really want to pursue something else. Great high school prep system and a great view from secondary (7th and 8th grader).

I have a 12th grader who is about to graduate from WMHS and a 7th grader in the secondary/MS program. My HS senior applied to 6 colleges and was accepted at all 6, and offered academic scholarships at all 6 schools. Im bragging on the school as much as my student - because the school deserves much of the credit. Montessori is not just pre-school. Its not just loose or child-directed. Its not just college prep. Its not just one thing or another - its a complex approach to raising a decent human being. Both of my children have been at the school since the age of three. If we want a different world we have to raise our kids to bring it about. Woodinville Montessori has always been my partner in that. The hallmarks of Montessori Education (peace and justice, care for the environment, inclusion and celebration of differences, teaching the whole child, patience with a deep and profound process, critical thinking) drew us to commit to Montessori Education for the long haul. One of the things Ive appreciated about being at the school while it has been a work in progress is that everything isnt always perfect and set. Weve seen the school grow and change over the last 15 years. That gives my family an opportunity to influence new directions the school might take and to participate in making the school better and better.WMS is preparing my children for a working life and an adult life that none of us can imagine. The pace at which technology and communication change our landscape means that my kids have to prepare for a world no one can predict. WMS is doing that. I encourage you to learn more about our school. Visit and have in-depth discussions with faculty and staff. If growing WITH a program appeals to you, learn about our secondary and high school program.
