My two daughters & husband went in for a trial class. We were welcomed like family! My youngest was a bit nervous so they offered to have my older daughter in the younger kids class. During class there were allot of added encouragement regarding being grateful, being disciplined and respectful. The adults classes wiped my husband out and he learned so much in a short time! Highly recommend these guys.

Gracie Barra Bothell has been a great place for my 5 year old. Aside from Jiu Jitsu moves, he’s learning patience, teamwork, and importance of focus. Professor Rocky does a fantastic job with teaching the kids and making it fun for them.

Moved to the area recently and needed to find another academy to train with. Its not easy changing schools but the guys here have made the transition a very easy one. Rocky is incredibly helpful and everyone is very welcoming. I can confidently say Ive found my new jiu-jitsu home!

It was Groupon which introduced me to Gracie Barra, Mill Creek and all I was looking for was a martial arts center for my daughter, to learn self defense, during summer time.After calling them multiple times to book and appointment, I remember ranting out on a Facebook ad comment, that no-one picks up the phone here. Rocky reached out to me immediately after that and asked me to come down the next day.Coincidently, it was also their last day at the facility, as they were moving to a new facility, but in-spite of all the humdrum, Rocky still found the time to make us comfortable and asked my daughter to join them on the mat. We had not even begun the discussions on the class fees/schedule etc.My daughter, who takes time to gel with people, immediately took a liking to the place as she was making friends with girls of her age, wearing pink uniforms(in stark contrast to the regular whites). Day one, she was learning the art of subduing and takedown of an opponent(I had to go through 3 months of karate practice, before I got to spar with someone).The teaching medium is fun and playful; my daughter never felt the pressure of performing, although she learnt quite a bit in terms of how to escape someones grasp, that too in the first day.Although they took their time to move to a new place, my daughter wanted to continue with Rocky and Gracie Barra. Rocky was also in constant touch through the move process, keeping us informed of the developments.I would recommend this place for its training methods, great coaches and the awesome time my 7 year old has when shes on the mat.

Tried to cancel due to gyms being closed during covid and due to the pandemic I cant afford it. Hours shortened at work and I need to pay for rent. They still took my money, ignored my calls and emails numerous times.

Joined about a week ago. Love this place and everyone involved. Lots of great techniques being taught, and options for classes everyday. Highly recommend.

We had a very bad experience with this establishment. From the very beginning, Rocky had stated there was a 100% satisfaction guarantee, no risk involved so that gave us the confidence to try Gracie Barra classes at the Bothell location. The sign up process was very informal having communication through text messaging. My child did not enjoy the classes after about a month of a half of classes. On Saturday’s especially, there are older and bigger kids mixed with the young kids so the younger kids don’t get the attention they need. We wanted to cancel our membership after giving my son some time to see if he would later enjoy it and things didn’t change. I let Rocky know as soon as I talked with my son about it. Rocky had brought up a 60-day cancellation policy when I informed him both informally and formally via email, which he had never mentioned up until I wanted to cancel. In fact, I have written communication saying there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee with no risk and nowhere did he mention any cancellation policy as it was a month-to-month membership. After sending multiple correspondence emails with Rocky, he disregarded me as a customer and despite “having a higher standard at Gracie”, doesn’t honor his own satisfaction guarantee. I wasn’t even trying to get my money back like his supposedly 100% satisfaction guarantee states, but just didn’t want to continue paying for a membership we would not use for an additional 60 days. Even after multiple days of emails and contact with Rocky, he went ahead and tried to charge my card anyways again not honoring his satisfaction guarantee, not listening to my concerns, not even “priding himself on the principals” he claims to uphold, and as a customer I am disgusted with how he treats a paying customer, continues to not accept my cancellation, and even threatens to send me to collections for not wanting to pay on future months that haven’t even happened. My child is 6-years old, this is a month-to-month membership and you had a 100% satisfaction guarantee, I don’t need to pay you for more days than I’ve been a member and as a business owner you should do more to please your customers instead of argue with them for days on end and try to charge them for services they aren’t even using. Terrible business and experience.

A fantastic school to learn BJJ with rock solid fundamentals. There has been a recent change in instructors and our new professor Melvin is the highest ranked black belt in the state. All of the team have great attention to detail. Even if you have experience with other gyms and other professors you will still learn a lot. The atmosphere amount students is very mature and collegial. Everyone is very warm, friendly, and eager to learn. When my son is old enough he will definitely be training here. The only challenge can be parking.

My sons have been training at Gracie Barra Bothell for almost a year and love it. I finally attended my first class as well! The level of instruction is amazing. Great environment, friendly staff, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. The facility is clean and well organized.

Professors Malvin and Rocky are very friendly and create very friendly and fun environment for kids every day. At the gym, kids learn about discipline and respect while developing self-defense skill set.I have started exercising at this gym recently as well and totally love the place. I recommend GB Bothell to everyone who wants to get great exercise and gain practical jiu jitsu skills.

Great to get kids started with martial arts while also experiencing a little bit of Brazil. My kid is given attention to learn and be excited about it.

Just walked in and met with instructor mark. Good group of people and first lesson is free. Cancel any time. I like the vibe and will be back. Plus you can’t argue with the Gracie stamp of approval. Also separates kids and adult classes. Gotta love that.

Dont go here unless youre committed to staying, their cancellation policy is a scam. They require you to pay for two months after you cancel your membership. I did this and they still continued to charge me. I havent been there since December and theyve charged me every month this year.Update: They eventually gave me my money back for the months they shouldnt have charged me.

Great gym with good instructors and a positive atmosphere, they are very good with the kids class and motivating, I would highly recommend this bjj gym for anybody interested in something positive, good exercise and an art that promotes good morale values, nutrition and just an all around healthy lifestyle👍👊✌☺
