I spent 6 months studying Spanish with David. Excellent and helpful. Clear and constructive help, very friendly and engaging. Made learning a foreign language feel less overwhelming and doable. I will be returning to Journey Language Center in the future!

The Spanish class I took was a great refresher with fun instructors. There was flexibility in scheduling classes with a work group of 7-8 people. Would recommend!

Last year I registered for an advanced ESL program at JLC Boulder to improve my English communication skills. The administration and my instructors were very professional and detail orientated. They tailored a program to my learning needs, and created a class schedule based on my availability. This year, I took Italian lessons at JLC Longmont and I had the same wonderful learning experience in both of my in-person and online classes. My Italian instructor was very didactic and included several cultural topics along with the grammar ones. It was worth every dollar I invested in my education here. I am looking forward to resume my Italian classes soon!

I would very much recommend the Journey Language Center! I have been taking Spanish lessons since January 2020 and have noticed a lot of progress! I started with in person lessons which I very enjoyed. But I need to admit the the video lessons (done through Zoom video due to the covid-19 situation) are awesome as well and the learning process is fun! Plus you can practice Spanish from the comfort of your couch! :)David has been a wonderful instructor and with taking private lessons it has given me scheduling flexibility, and also an opportunity to choose topics I wanted to work on every week. Highly recommend, especially if you feel like you have an extra time these days and want to learn/improve Spanish in a fun & effective way!

Im really enjoying my time with Jay (at the Journey Language Center) having conversations which, even with my limited Spanish, always end up being instructive and fun. Our conversations can be all over the map depending on what we bring to the table that day. Part of what makes class so enjoyable is the relaxed and open atmosphere that Jay creates. We are free to make mistakes and carry on as best we can, not holding back because we dont know a word or phrase. Hes totally supportive and helpful and with each question or mistake he brings in new vocabulary and maybe even a mini lesson.... on prepositions or the difference between por and para and, of course, the past and future tenses. He weaves it all together to help our language skills come alive!I highly recommend these classes!

I absolutely love the Journey Language Center in Longmont. The teachers David and Jay are amazing at what they do and I have learned so much about Spanish and different Latino cultures. The conversational exercises joined with learning the correct grammar and spelling helps me so much. I would recommend for anyone to try out the Journey Language Center. I have taken beginning Italian with David Minaya and have had an excellent experience. The virus pandemic happened in the middle of my instruction so we switched from in person instruction to online. David is very caring and patient. I would highly recommend Journey Language center to anyone seeking language instruction.

I’ve attended private French lessons here for two years with Nora, a native speaker who is actually from France. I’ve made great progress under her instruction and we always have a fun time. I started with the goal of traveling to francophone Africa, which I’ve yet to do, and have kept up with lessons largely for the continuity it provides my life. Better than therapy! I purchase the 12-hour package with the 13th free, which works out to 8 hour-and-a-half lessons, along with the bonus hour. Nora is flexible with scheduling and we have an easy time picking up where we left off after vacations and such. Her desirable time slots can fill so it’s a good idea to lock one in by calling as soon as the inspiration strikes. I would recommend Nora to any aspiring student of French.

Excellent way to get started learning a new language! I took beginner Spanish level 1 and was impressed with the small class sizes, personal attention and flexibility to around my schedule. Great instruction, good for practicing pronunciation and conversation, I am continuing to the next level and excited to continue learning!

Ive been working on my Spanish for several years now and Journey has helped me tremendously with my ability to listen, understand, and speak Spanish. In particular, Ive been working 1:1 with a woman named Isna and my progress has exceeded my expectations thanks to the customized teaching approach Journey uses. Ive worked with several of their teachers over the years, including the owners, and Ill note that everyone has been super responsive and fun to work with. Journey should be top of your list if you really want to learn Spanish quickly.

I have been taking 12 weeks of Italian courses here so far and I truly have learned a lot. Its hard to find conversational practice for Italian here in Colorado and that is one thing I definitely appreciate when I attend my classes. The classes are very compatible with my life and work schedule and the staff does a great job providing a fun and positive learning environment!

Ive been taking French with Nora for several months now in anticipation of a trip to Paris. She is a wonderful instructor who has gone out of her way to meet my language goals. She is patient, enjoyable, and knowledgeable about French (she is from France) and Ive enjoyed taking lessons from her. We had a good shift to Zoom lessons during this pandemic and she is always prepared and were making the best of it. Significantly, she has been very helpful behind the scenes in addressing my questions, preparing lessons, sending emails and links that are interesting. She gives 110% to me, which is returned in kind with my shared enthusiasm and preparation. Inspiring. And, merci beaucoup.

I have taken the first 2 beginning Italian classes, and I am signed up for my third! I look forward to the weekly classes because the instructor is excellent, and the class is fun! Italian is such a beautiful language, and learning to speak it has enriched my life.

The school offers a wide variety of activities outside of the class to augment your learning. I love the teaching style of the various instructors. I have been studying here for a year and a half now, and I love it! First of all, the teachers are excellent and all the course-work has paid off tremendously. I have gained a lot of confidence in speaking Spanish to native speakers, and the more I do, the better I get. Second, the teachers and my course-mates are fantastic. It really feels more like a family than a school. If you really want to learn Spanish, this is the place for you.

I have been taking Spanish Classes at JLC for a year now. The fun classes, lively conversation, and small class size make it easy to learn. The instructor incorporates cultural aspects into many of the lessons. I really enjoy learning about the people, climate, history and foods of different Spanish speaking countries. Since starting classes here my confidence in speaking Spanish has really improved. Overall, the classes at JLC have been a wonderful experience!

Journey Language Center is a fantastic teaching school. I began classes last summer and am totally addicted to them. I started by taking a 6 week class then took several months off before returning for my second set of weekly classes. Again, I took several months off before returning for my twice weekly private lessons with David. Each new session included a review of what I had learned and continuation from where we left off. David is a fantastic instructor, making learning Spanish fun and easy. He is very professional and at the same time keeps the classes fun and entertaining. I feel very good about my progress including my enunciation and vocabulary. I plan to register for more classes as my schedule permits. This school is fantastic. My kids have attended Spanish camps here for the past 2 summers and I was very impressed with the professionalism and creativity of the instructors. I have been taking private Spanish lessons here for the past several months and have made tremendous progress. Learning a language through this center has been fun and inspiring. Thankfully, it is a style that is much different than the way I was taught french in high school!

I have been taking both group classes and private lessons at this language school over the past two years. In that time, I have been made significant progress toward my goal of becoming bilingual. The instructors here are professional and listen to the needs and wants of the students. The classes are the perfect size to allow time for questions and in-depth discussion. Private instruction provides the opportunity to focus on more specific topics chosen by the student. Whether you are new to a second language or continuing a journey to become bilingual, I highly recommend this program.

I am currently in the 8th week of my Spanish immersion program. I started taking these classes to become conversational not just in a public casual setting but to become fluent enough to conduct business in Spanish in topics of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence. These are lofty goals and though I am not even close to the end state, the teachers at Journey Language Center are absolutely exceptional. This for me isnt about placing an order in a restaurant, this is business fluency. They have listened to what I want to achieve and they have tailored the program to just that. We work on conversation but only with perfect grammar. The conversation has relevancy to my work and each teacher helps me focus on a particular aspect. I have homework (that I asked for) for each teacher and each assignment focuses on a particular aspect of building my vocabulary, perfecting my sentence structure and thinking in Spanish instead of trying to translate it. If you want to have an immersive experience where you truly can embrace the learning of a language, I would not look any further. This school has an awesome curriculum and I am happy to be part of the experience. -- Matt W.

Mixed on this place. The instructors I have had are wonderful. The class sizes are small. I have been able to progress rapidly.On the other hand, their materials are amateurish. Much of the printed materials are done in all-caps, which means you miss the accent marks in Spanish. In addition, the text is in all kinds of crazy colors and they dont use fresh ink so there is a lot of content that is simply unreadable. There are also lots of mistakes and omissions.I have also experienced hidden charges, which they refused to refund.So if you come with your own materials and write them checks, they are a good school.

I have been taking French at Journey Language Center for about 4 months and am really pleased with the program and my progress. Learning a new language as an adult is not easy but Ive still come a long way. I have tried several language learning apps and still really enjoy Duolingo, but nothing replaces the kind of progress you can make in a live classroom setting- Ive seen this firsthand.Life is busy and I appreciate how scheduling can be difficult and they have worked with me to find time for classes in both Longmont and Boulder. Shout out to Dhyan for being such a great teacher and giving me the confidence to travel with these new language tools!

Jay and Journey Language Center provide wonderful service and fantastic offerings in language classes. I take Spanish lessons with Jay and he provides personalized lessons around real estate (Turner Realty in Longmont) for me. I appreciate the personal touches and it is obvious that Jay loves what he does. As a company, Journey Language Center has always been professional and efficient. I highly recommend it as a place to learn languages in Northern Colorado.

Journey Language Center has been great! I decided to take Spanish lessons a year ago to relearn all the Spanish I had learned from high school. Im an intermediate student now and David has been helpful, patient, and supportive through the entire process. The classes are tailored to the lives of busy adults who dont necessarily have time to study every night like a full time student. The homework is helpful and David is great about letting me know about local sayings and things people in Spanish speaking countries actually say. The other events are great too! Particularly the conversational groups, which is really helpful for being more comfortable speaking another language. Overall, I cant say enough good things about Journey Language Center and think its a great choice for someone whos learning (or relearning) a second language.

I started taking beginning Spanish classes at Journey Language Center (JLC) about 6 weeks ago. My instructor is Isna and she is a wonderful teacher. I have been so pleased with my time with her. I was only in the actual school building two or three times but I have been continuing on with my classes via Zoom. It has been easy to transition to online classes and Isna has done a great job navigating the technology. She is able to show me things via the blackboard and putting up documents that I can see. I dont feel that I have lost any value in taking classes this way. I am learning at a good pace and making progress each week. I just signed up for 12 more weeks of private instruction because I have enjoyed this so much. I recommend that anyone that is interested in learning a new language to consider JLC as your school of choice

I was a real beginner when last March I joined the Spanish Easy & Fun program to learn Spanish. After 9 months not only my spanish is already at intermediate level but, most importantly, I am completely addicted. The Spanish Easy & Fun program provides excellent teachers and small group classes ensuring that each student has the appropriate attention. In addition, they use a wide variety of effective teaching tools, from videos to games that make the learning process interactive and really fun. Last but not least, they offer, for their students, free conversational evenings and frequently, they organize events where their students can practice the language they are learning even with natives. Took classes for 6 months! Learned a lot and helped me to be Able to communicate when traveling to Mexico and Colombia. David was really nice and always worked with my schedule when I had to miss a class. I hope to be back for more lessons.

Journey Language Center offers fabulous Spanish instruction. Since mid December, I can see the progress I have made at the hands of a confident instructor. Each week, Jay Minaya motivates me to write about my own experiences using the language features hes taught me. In addition he gives me good Spanish movies to watch and current podcasts to listen to outside of class When editing my writing, Jay gives me clear reasons for why I should use words a certain way which eliminates the gray areas. Each class level comes with a a group of printed lessons that require reading Spanish for a variety of purposes. If you value bilingualism, do not hesitate to enroll at Journey Language Center. Going to language classes just many be the highlight of your week.

I participated in Journey Language Centers cultural and cooking event called A Cocinar! and had such a fun afternoon! Students of all different levels listened to music, drank wine, and helped to prepare a delicious meal of Spanish and Peruvian dishes. While we sampled cheese and ham, Jay and David gave us some background information pertaining to the food we were going to prepare. Then we headed to the kitchen to cook, using high-quality, mostly organic ingredients. When everything was ready, we sat down at a beautifully set table and enjoyed an incredible meal, complete with more wine. I left happy and very satisfied, looking forward to signing up for the next cooking event.

I took the very beginner beginners class when the organization I worked for offered the class to about 11 of my co-workers and myself, and we held class at our central office. The instructor came to us, and the class was held after-hours, which was great because it made the class very accessible to us. Some of my co-workers and I are known for being a little feisty, but the instructor allowed us to be ourselves during class, and had a great sense of humor, which made class really fun. I personally had a lot of questions about the hows and whys of the Spanish language, and the instructor was very patient with me and answered all my questions. He made himself available, and always answered my e-mails if I had questions about homework or anything else I might have thought of when class wasnt in session. I would definitely recommend Spanish Easy & Fun to anyone looking to learn a new language, and I hope I can take another class with them at some point in the future!

Ron and I are just beginning Section 3 Spanish after about 6 months, starting from being absolute beginners. We can read and speak Spanish now in a simple way, and its very satisfying to have made this much progress. We recommend learning a language this way.

I have been taking individual Spanish lessons with David since November 2018 and just signed up for my third set of classes! My reason for learning Spanish is to better connect with my clients as a public health dietitian. I already feel more confident using my basic skills to build rapport and I can read/write far better than I expected. Now that we had added conversation-only classes with Jala, my confidence in speaking and comprehension is growing each week. I highly recommend the classes here. They really do make it fun and easy. I am currently taking Spanish and I love my class! The instructors are all certified instructors and their teaching style is fun and interactive. I am learning a lot more than when I took Spanish in college and I look forward to the lessons.

The school is amazing and the instructors are awesome! They really try to involve you in the Latin culture. They do some events which helps you to practice more Spanish and to meet more native Spanish speakers. I totally recommend the school!

David Minaya and the team at Journey Language Center are professional and fun. They use a variety of techniques tailored to the adult learner (though I have not taken their classes for children!). After the first beginning Spanish class, years ago, I was able to walk the Camino de Santiago with enough basic skills to book a hotel room, talk to people, and find my way around. The very small class sizes and individual attention support a great learning experience. Highly recommended.

I had always struggled with Spanish and began to fail as the school year went on, and being in a high school classroom setting didnt help me. I had done research on what to do, asked around, and eventually ended up looking into how the SEF tutors (Jay and David) could help me. They told me they could help me and make sure that I not only pass the class, but that I would enjoy doing it too. I was hesitant at first, I felt like I had dug a hole I couldnt dig out of for my Spanish career, but I was wrong. the first couple of lessons were difficult, heck I couldnt even name basic colors, but after every lesson I began to find myself eager to schedule the next tutoring session. As I type this, I have now had at least 3 fluent conversation with my Hispanic friends which is an amazing feeling. With the help of Jay and David, I really began to enjoy learning Spanish and incorporating it into my life, which is what they had told me at the beginning! It helped that the tutors were enthusiastic, professional, friendly, had flexible schedules, and are easy to contact. I ended up passing my class with an A, and I would HIGHLY recommend these tutors to anyone, theyre passionate at what they do which leads to major success for their pupils!

Just completed the Beginner Level 1 class and am very impressed. I learned and more importantly retained a lot of information in a short amount of time without even realizing it. I loved the convenient class times, so I could attend after work. I was also very impressed with the instructor, David Minaya. He is very intelligent, kind, patient, and completely non-judgemental. I really liked his teaching and correction style.

Ive been taking classes at the Longmont location since the beginning of 2015 and cant say enough about the instructor or the facilities. Learning a new language can be challenging but the people at SEF have made it enjoyable.
