After changing my major twice, I decided to enroll in the Pastry Arts online program. I was very curious as to how online culinary school would go, and honesty a little intimidated when I started learning what we would be doing.Amy first professor was AMAZING and so incredibly sweet. She helped me feel comfortable, and my advisor made sure to keep in touch consistently so if for any reason I were to get overwhelmed, he could help. Every 6 weeks you begin a new session with a new instructor and new techniques/methods! It makes it very fun and interesting. My skills have already improved tremendously and I’ve learned SO much! I can officially make a beautiful buttercream drip cake, and it be professional standard! The quizzes and discussion posts are helpful, and they even hold events for online students to attend. Next month I’ll be going to a farm-to-table event in Charleston and I’m so excited to finally meet some of my fellow classmates! This school has been completely eye opening and life-changing as far as encouraging me to live my passion, and teaching me to run a successful business. I’m set to graduate in May and I’ve never felt more proud! Adding some picture of some of the amazing things the school has taught me to make:

I’m currently doing their online pastry arts program & I absolutely love it. It’s very well organized & very professional. The assignments are hands on which I absolutely love- & they have the most friendly & helpful chefs & tutors to help you one-on-one along the way. They even send you your own tool kit & pastry kit to help get you started which I found very fun.

I did one of the online programs and I loved everything about it!! My chefs were amazing and knew so much stuff that I was impressed and motivated by them. I learned about so much stuff that helped me open my own Pastry business. I was scared of the online classes because so many say you can’t learn anything from it but it was so different with Escoffier. Yes, it is from home but you feel like your instructors are there with you thanks to all the instructions and guidance that they provide! I highly recommend the online program! Here is just a little bit of what you do in the Pastry Program

BE CAREFUL WHEN ASKING FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THIS SCHOOL.My partner contacted this school a couple months ago about a vegan program and wanted more information. It has been nothing but daily phone calls, many outside business hours, and text messages for enrolling. She ONLY wanted information on the program. When I finally answered the phone, the person representing this school told me harshly you only needed to tell us to take you off the call list but did not take any contact information.Poor communication, poor customer service, the use of multiple numbers when calling potential students, the lack of giving out information about any of the programs, and the pushing to enroll makes this school look suspicious. We will definitely not contact this school again.P.S. To the owner... I have already contacted communications via your school. Found the email on other reviews.

I love this School. The curriculum is great and easy to follow. You get tons of resources, literature that really breaks down the history of foods, descriptions and recipes. They also offer tutoring sessions. It is the best choice Ive ever made! I wasnt able to attend traditional in class college right after high school due to mental health issues. I had a hard time being in class with others because I have crippling anxiety that has hindered a lot of things in my life. Im glad I get to attend this school and do it from the comfort of my own kitchen and not have to pay for childcare to go to an actual campus. It allows me to be flexible with work and being a mom. The recipes are delicious, when I serve them, my family and friends love them. It has helped with a lot of self doubt, I felt like I failed because I was too scared to go to school and become the chef I always desired to be and that I would have to choose another career to be able to take online classes, but this has given me confidence and a lot of hope. 💚💛 And the tuition prices arent terrible either. Im definitely a proud student.

I started attending the online pastry program 3 months ago and so far it has been nothing but a good experience. The chef instructors are super intuitive and always available to reach out to. In my mind I was going to learn how to make cakes. After 3 months we havent even made a cake yet. But the amount of knowledge and confidence I gained in baking so far is overwhelming. The classes are also conveniently set so you can work on your own weekly schedule.

Currently enrolled in the online program. While the chefs are nice, the school’s stipend plan is a joke. The courses are fast paced which can be annoying sometimes. The financial aid office never answer the phone and when they do, they hang up on you. They play with your money when you get financial aid and they give you your stipends whenever they feel like it. They send you a kit when you begin classes and whatever you need after you have to buy until they decide to send you your stipend. I regret signing up for the program but according to them I have to finish because if I withdraw, I’ll have to pay the Department of Education. So I’m in debt if I finish or not. The school seems very selfish and money hungry to me so think twice before signing up.

I strongly believe a school is as much about fit and effort as it is the education itself. For me, Escoffier as exactly the right place offering just the opportunity I needed to gain the credential to break into the Culinary R&D field. I loved the fast-paced, condensed schedule, demanding classes, and even more demanding instructors. I couldnt trade my time at Escoffier for anything. I made lasting friendship and the staff worked hard to ensure I was set up for success when I graduated. For better or worse, I missed my actual graduation ceremony because I was still working in London at the time because the course got me into an amazing restaurant near Kensington. How about that for a reference?

BEWARE!!! My daughter was so excited to attend the Boulder location of the school. Unfortunately, COVID changed many aspects of her actual attendance.Core classes were via Zoom. Points taken off if a family member walked behind her.... When she got to Boulder there was no class or kitchen attendance! She had to source all ingredients AND buy cookware even though that was paid for. The stipend paid was a joke! When she finally had enough nobody answered email after email or returned her phone calls so she could withdraw! Now the school has a bill collection agency calling her! THANK GOODNESS WE DOCUMENTED EVERYTHING!!! This school isn’t worth it at all!!!

This is one of the greatest schools you will ever attend. The classes are so detailed and the instructors go through every detail of what you need to do for your assignments. I am doing my classes online and when I first thought about doing them online I was actually a little scare because I have gotten two degrees from Penn Foster and my experience with them was pretty bad. Auguste Escoffier school of culinary arts helps you with everything along the way. One of the hardest parts getting through is the financial aid and my advisor made it so simple and guided me along the way. Every instructor I have met lays out every assignment thoroughly and make them look so easy. The school provides alot of tools to help you get started. The recipes that you receive every week to do are actually budget friendly. You will not regret attending this school. Its the best thing I have done for myself. I am a 28 year old mother of 4 that has personally been affected by covid-19 and I am so grateful that I have had Escoffier as a constant thing in my life during this horrible time.

The classes that are in the kitchens are very good. But all the other classes are trash. There was an instructor that recommended a resume that was 16 pages long...and the business math class placed theft as the same category as goods sold. Then the nutrition class claimed that the DNA of the food you eat is absorbed into your own DNA.The instructors also do not hold students to any standard. I found a meat grinder on the shelf to still have old shell fish in it. Also, the deli slicer never has its blade removed for cleaning, because its too dangerous for the students to do. I found this out when I wanted to clean it thoroughly after finding tumors in the ham that was to be served to my family.I was also reprimanded for scolding a classmate for liking mayo from a utensil before placing it in the cabinet. I was told that it was unkind to scold a fellow for placing a fork in his mouth and assuming it was clean and sanitized. If myself and my class were held to an higher standard, we would have learned much more.Raise your standard, hire instructors with some balls and knowledge, and you will improve.Chef Knight is a perfect example of what you need.Chef Chris is a great example also. The rest suck.

This is one of the Best Decision I have made its so difficult to make a decision on which school will be not only one of the best but which school will you learn the most, so i decided to go with Auguste Escoffier and I could have not pick a better school. Not only does the school have the very best Chef Instructors that are so knowledgeable they have so much experience to share with you that you can only get from experience and you can not learn from a textbook. I started my classes in January of 2021 and I can not believe how much I have learned from the Chefs Instructors that I have had so far. There are so many things that I have truly enjoyed. Every six weeks you get to start a new class and you receive a new Chef Instructor so you end up receiving the very best experience, knowledge and information any school could offer. I am so pleased with Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary they offer everything you need from the beginning to the end.

The administration at this school is beyond rude and unprofessional. I have called several times in an attempt to get questions answered and have been met with rude responses and placed on hold indefinitely because I have requested to speak to a supervisor. I have made several requests to have my credit card updated and it was not done causing my account to go past due. When I finally spoke with someone, all she could say was, sorry, Mary is no longer with our company. The treatment of the students is not professional. They need to understand that the students enrolled in their programs are not children and are often older than the people they have answering the phones. I pay for this school out of pocket and I am quickly coming to the decision to take my money elsewhere. If you dont mind being spoken to like you dont matter, then this is the place for you.

I recently graduated from both the culinary and pastry online programs. This is a fantastic school which gave me the opportunity to obtain a culinary or pastry education where I was living and while I was employed. Although there is a timeline like any school program, the online programs enabled me to study and cook around my crazy work schedule. The knowledge I obtained from Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts became evident during my internships. I was well prepared to work in my externships, in two different professional kitchens. I worked in the baking departments and cooked in the main kitchen on the line. The instructors and staff at the school are fantastic and they are always available to any student. As an online school I met fellow students who became my friends from all over the world. This online school is hard work and for those that are truly interested in obtaining a professional education. Its not easy to stay employed and go to school at the same time. However, the end result surpasses the short time one endures this. This program gave me the skills, knowledge, and confidence to get an internship, new employment in my new found career, and to start my own business. As a professional in another career, I highly recommend the online program to anyone who is seriously interested in obtaining an education in the culinary and pastry arts.

I attended this school back in 2013-2014 and while I did learn a lot about pastry arts in general, I felt like the environment could have been more inviting. I had a total of 4 teachers during the 4 semesters of the course as a whole and I really only felt appreciated and invested in by 1 of them. 1 of the teachers I had twice and both times I felt like she just hated my class and me especially. I was told to be quiet and tone my personality down during one evening in class, to me that seemed completely uncalled for. The whole point of me going to pastry arts school was to learn to express my artistic style and enjoy myself. One could hardly ask for more from a school that charges over 20k for an 8 month program. I was very offended and taken back by the sudden outburst from my teacher and immediately left the class because she killed my mood altogether. To which I found out later I got a 0 for the day even though there was maybe 30 minutes left. Seemed extremely unprofessional to me.Another instance with a different teacher left me with the realization that she DID NOT want to be there, she constantly criticized my work and one time I was just not having it, She commented on my poor quality of work and I turned to a friend and said well ok whatever, to which my teacher immediately said excuse me. First of all I wasnt talking to you, I was talking to my friend but I guess she thought I was being snarky and decided to jump at the chance to tell me what was what. I felt very uncomfortable, considering she had been (throughout the semester,) and had just recently put down my work. Needless to say I didnt walk away from school feeling empowered and inspired. I felt tired and relieved to be done with having to deal with teachers who gave off a very I could care less about you vibe. Im sorry I just paid over 20k for an 8 month program, the LEAST you can do is care.If you are looking for an inviting, exciting, and inspiring place to learn something that requires both artistic instinct/drive and intelligence to be competent at, then look somewhere else. Dont pay teachers who have negative attitudes towards students that express themselves or like to have a say in the quality/value of their own work.

This school has very sketchy administration and staff practices. The enrollment process is misleading - they sign you up on your first call, but start the conversation as if it’s an info session. The staff is not fully informed about the program whatsoever, they are just salespeople. One of the people I talked to couldn’t even tell me if it was a Title IX school. You get bounced around to various staff people any time you try to get in touch with them. They never answer your questions directly and say they will send something or resolve on issue, but they don’t unless you email, text, or call them repeatedly.I signed an Enrollment Contract at the end of the confusing initial phone call and regretted it immediately. I have had to use our email threads as written legal documents to ensure I cancelled my Enrollment because they never sent me an official document after numerous requests.I hate that I ever made contact with this school and I would advise anyone to steer clear.

The only difficulties I came across were on my end being a single mom working full time. They were very patient and understanding the entire process. Even with financial aid. They really did do what ever they could to help ensure I was able to follow my dream.I just started night class for baking and pastry on Monday 8/20. Seeing as where I was living at the time a single load of laundry cost me $2.75 this was unreasonable not to mention I didnt have the money for more uniforms. So on top of not having the money to do that much laundry or buy new uniforms I was deducted points everyday for my uniform not being as clean as theyd like. Wrinkles included. Basically I was reprimanded for being poor. After having all the joy of baking sucked out of me in 3 weeks by that place another student basically stole my knife kit worth 750$ and when I try to inquire about getting it back they wont talk to me. That is until they decide to send me a friendly reminder that I owe them money.I told them Id be happy to go over a payment plan when I get my knife kit back. I had been trying to do something about this for MONTHS. I reached out to the student who stole them, one of the administrators who duped me into going to that school, even the campus president! Basically all I was told was its not our problem. It wasnt until I met some other people who had gone to that school before who told me yeah theyre pastry program is garbage. Wish Id known that before wasting time and thousands of dollars.tl;dr: The pastry program is absolute trash. Students regularly steal expensive equipment from other students with absolutely no consequences. Auguste Escoffier is king among chefs! This is an answer I provided to someone inquiring about the school:Depending on your goals, yes, I do think its worth it! Your certificate of graduation from AESCA is likely to open doors for you, and they have a dedicated career services department that helps you find placement for your final 6-week externship. You would be doing the online courses which are weekly, with a live session via Zoom app. It is archived so you can watch it at your convenience. Each week there is online reading, online forum discussion and responses and a practical assignment (cooking with Production sheet and Narrative submitted with photos taken at specified points) and a Knowledge Check quiz. Grades are issued. Assignments are due by midnight the following Monday, and you start a new week. There is the Culinary Arts program which I took last year. It has concurrent core classes which teach you the business side of the hospitality industry. Expect to dedicate at least 20 hours per week total to your classes. I am currently enrolled in the Baking & Pastry Arts class and do not have to repeat the core classes. These courses both last for 13 months. The caliber of your Chef instructors is very high, and they are very accessible for questions, etc.

Well i went to this school and all i really have to say about it is they need chefs who are kind and supportive, not put you down and discourage you. the program itself need a lot of work....the recipes are not great quality nor are they up to date or close to anything you would cook for your family or serve in a restaurant. the program they say is nine months with ten weeks in an externship. the money you pay for school does not come back to you in your schooling in any way. in my class they gave us nothing but beets for a whole week because they were on sale at the local king soopers, chicken would come to us already rotting, roundfish didnt come at all which affected our education and often we wouldnt have ingredients that was in our recipes for the day, and theres nothing you can do about it because the food storage closes before your class begins. so think twice about this school because if you go youre gonna find yourself being the only one who gives a crap but that will soon fade because no matter how much you care, your sad classmates and lazy chefs still wont.

They’ll call you relentlessly, even when you tell them you’re not interested. I don’t need calls every single day, multiple times a day.

Wont help you find a job and lie about how much you will make once out of school. Fun experience, but you cant make a career out of it.

Before you go to this school here are a few things you should know.1. The advisers will lie to you by telling you how much money you will make. Not true. This is coming from a few people who went to this school who i still talk to and from personal experience.2. Marci Hillard who works with student housing is a lazy bimbo who will lie to your face. You have to share a room with a complete stranger who might steal behind you back. Even though you are not allowed to smoke weed there basically everyone there does. When people smoke that crap it causing breathing issues for me. But basically the system is full of pot heads. Ive also had alot of money stolen behind my back from a few roommates.Craigslist have rooms for alot less and you wont have to share your room with anyone. CHS is a money trap.3. You are in the kitchen everyday and you will cook something everyday. But be careful with some of the students. Because it can become a game show in there.4. This one may sound like a political view but it isnt. This school is located in the most liberal place on earth. So no joking. When i attended classes here I managed to offend everyone in the class and to this day i dont know what i possibly said. I didnt learn about boulder until i had a few co workers explain to me how bad Boulder is.Bottom line If your going to this school be prepared
