Looking for a music teacher? Someone who is knowledgeable, positive, and makes lessons fun? Then George Lacson is your guy. I am an older adult, new to guitar, and George is the perfect teacher for the task. He is equally encouraging and challenging and in the 3 short months since Ive started lessons I am super pleased with my progress. George lets his students interest guide the course of learning and gets you playing what you want to play. All done with positive reinforcement. He is that perfect combination of teacher, coach, and cheerleader.George is a wonderful teacher for both kids and adults. If you or anyone in your family is interested in pursuing music instruction do yourself a favor and call George!

Ive found George to be a student-focused, outcome-orientated teacher who is capable of teaching at all levels. His positive attitude is great, but should not be taken for not pushing students to achieve their best. I think his mix of technique, theory and fun is great. His follow up after each lesson takes all the stress out of remembering what happened during the lesson to a minimum. Great communicator, player and person.

Im here listening to George giving my daughter a bass lesson (via Skype) and I know, whatever I write here, will not do the guy justice. But I will try. Hes incredibly kind, patient, knowledgeable, and just straight-up NICE. You can literally play a lick completely wrong and he encourages you to play it correctly, in the most gentle way. Hes fantastic with kids, for sure (although I take lessons as well so more on that in a sec). One of the other things I appreciate is how organized he is with lesson planning, scheduling, and billing. He also puts effort into tailoring the lessons to the individual, so, for example, my daughter likes Pokémon. Knowing this, George added learning a song from that video game to her lesson, and of course she loved it. Theres always a follow-up email covering the lesson and what the plan is going forward for the next week. No other teacher Ive ever had does that, and its outstanding.I take lessons from him as well and Im a tad more advanced, so not only do we talk technique and songs to learn but were also working on a lot of theory.I love the guy. Best private teacher Ive ever had, hands down. If you are on the fence and not sure who to pick for a bass teacher, give this guy a couple lessons and you will absolutely, positively not be disappointed.

My son has been taking weekly bass lessons with George for over a year now, starting in person and remotely through quarantine. His attitude is always positive and encouraging, and he is always willing to accommodate my sons requests to learn weird songs. I HIGHLY recommend George for music lessons!

George is a wonderful teacher! I already have a degree in music, so I have had MANY music instructors, good and bad. My degree is from Berklee College of Music (like George), but on drum-kit. I wanted to learn bass, so I sought out George, due to his outstanding reputation among the local, gigging musicians. What do I love about George’s teaching? What makes him great? (A great player is not always a great teacher) No matter how I feel when I enter my lesson, (sometimes, doubtful or un-confident), I always leave, feeling good about my playing, and wanting to go home and practice! George always points out the things you are doing well, and his guidance never feels like a “correction”, but rather like he steers you into deciding that a different way works better.George is an outstanding player 👍 he knows his music theory 👍 he understands how to teach in a progression 👍 I ALWAYS HAVE MORE FUN AT MY LESSON THAN I EXPECT TOO 🥳

Couldnt recommend George more. As a long time guitarist that switched over to bass recently I couldnt get a better teacher than George. Through the coaching I received from george I was able to advance very rapidly. Good music studio with quality gear. Goes to length to find new challenges for you. Was able to make music theory super interesting by applying it to real world music and playing along. Demonstrates a great wealth and depth of musical knowledge, from a very broad domain of styles and eras, without being a show-off (as a true bass player :) ). I would recommend george for any starting or intermediate bass player (cant judge on whether it works for advanced players, yet, although I suspect it would as well). Keep on grooving!
