My two daughters have been taking violin lessons from Katy for 3 years now and we couldnt be happier. She combines both Suzuki and fiddle music to motivate the kids and build on their strengths and gently encourages them to do better but never in an overly strict way. We appreciated her emphasis on form at the beginning, and I think my daughters now take pride in this. Having a chance to do group sessions has also been super motivating. She has definitely brought out the best of their abilities!

As an adult who “played violin in high school” 20 years ago, I was interested in getting back in touch with the instrument but in a new and fun way. Katy has shared her passion with fiddle, helped me fill in the gaps, and rediscover the fun if playing. She is knowledgeable, passionate, and has continued to evoke her teaching methods just in the short time I’ve been working with her to absolute advance all her students.

We have had a great experience with Katy! My daughter has worked with her for almost 2 years and made great progress. She is kind and patient and talented. We couldn’t ask for a better teacher!

Katy always is looking for new ways to help kids on their journey to learn the violin. She is constantly coming up with fun and inventive ways that allow kids to have more fun while learning the violin. She interacts and communicates well, and I would definitely recommend her.
