This place is the best. I drive past at least half a dozen other BJJ gyms on my way to Genesis Jiu Jitsu in Burleson because I know this is the best gym around. Professor Randy is an awesome teacher who has a genuine passion for competition as well as teaching. If you have children, it’s a great family environment that they will love too. It is a very team oriented atmosphere and it’s a team to be proud of!

I had to come to Burleson for work. I always try to find a place to train when I travel. I messaged Coach Randy and he immediately responded that I was welcome to come train with them. The instruction and level of skill and detail was top notch. The people are all kind and they treated me with respect as a visitor. I could write so much about Genesis and my time here, but Ill try to keep it short. Whether you are new to BJJ and have never trained before, just relocated and need a new gym, or even just want to try out a new place you should give Genesis a shot. Coach Randy is awesome, and has been from day one. At this point I consider him a close friend, and I know a lot of his students feel the same way. Its because he cares about his students and it really shows. You arent just another number, and when you feel like you are training with friends and family, it really allows you to drop the ego and step up your game.Kids class is amazing. When I arrive early to warm up I will sit in on the end of their class and watch sometimes. All of the kids are super engaged, learning, and making friends. You can see the difference that it makes in their confidence when they start and then after they have been training for a few months. They walk taller, heads held high, full of confidence, ready train and get better.Adults - its always intimidating to go somewhere new and just jump in... that will still exist, but there are tons of welcoming people at Genesis that are willing to jump in and help when new people come in the door. If you want to train but are too nervous to start, just take that step and drop in - you wont regret it.The other stuff - Price is great in my opinion. I have been to other gyms that charge 2-3x more. Theres no contract, no testing fees, no promotion fees. You can drop in at the other locations and get welcomed there too without having to pay any extra fees. The Burleson location is growing fast. Randy listens to feedback from students and has recently added more classes to make it easier for everyone to get their training in, its exciting to be a part of something that is growing and adding more for its members all the time.Seminars - if you like learning from great instructors who arent from around here, there are lots of opportunities in the Genesis family as well. Im constantly surprised at who we get to come teach us sometimes. My most recent seminars - Roberto Cyborg Abreu, Lachlan Giles, and Vagner Rocha.

Amazing energy. I have an ACL and meniscus injury and had surgery about 8 months ago. They where knowledgeable and super patient with my handicap. Such great guys. There was woman and men and it seemed like they treated everyone equally. I cant explain how great everyone was at making me feel welcomed without feeling pressured on my first day.

Great Place to train. People are awesome treat you like family from day one. Coaches watch and assist each person to fine tune techniques regardless of the class size. Prices are upfront, reasonable and no hidden fees. Belt testing and ranking up is done based on performance and your increasing knowledge. You do NOT pay $$ for promotions. All around the best place I have trained to date. Anyone wanting to learn or improve their Jiu Jitsu, this is the place to be. A side benefit is getting in shape and loosing weight.

My daughter has been attending beginner classes for a few months now. She tried one other place before and Genesis and their team is by far more organized, affordable and knowledgeable when teaching the classes. The owners and coaches are great they push my daughter to challenge herself they dont allow her to quit and already weve seen tremendous progress from day 1 to now.

Randy and his wife are really good with the kids. My son was very shy at first but they eased him in and he broke out of his shell faster than expected. They make a really good team training, their kids are really good too. The oldest boy goes above and beyond to help the little ones.I’m really pleased and I’m going to continue bringing my son to train here

I love coming here, helped me lose around 30 pounds. I have met some great training partners and friends here. Its like the tv show cheers, where everyone knows your name. Always learning something new from the white belts to Coach Randy and Coach Sam.

Coach Randy is great. They have a great structured kids and adult classes. The kids get plenty of 1 on 1 time with one of the multiple kids coaches.

Very friendly and competitive gym. I trained when I was 15 and wanted to get back into it 7 months ago. I was very worried about training again especially at a new gym but genius jiu jitsu welcomed me with open arms and made me comfortable to start training again. They encourage questions and actually care about you as a person. Theyre great training partners on and off the mat. If you want to learn a new martial art for a hobby or train to be a competitor I highly recommend gensis. They will help you work towards your goals and push you towards them.

My son started training at the River Oaks location because a military buddy told me it was awesome. So I gladly did the drive from Glen Rose. It is an awesome school. Then they opened the Burleson location and it is great! My son loves it and the coach is great. I can’t say enough good things. It is hard to find a good jiu jitsu school and not one of those chain stores with paper degrees and contracts. Here you get the real deal.

This place has only been open a week, but I went in on their opening day and had a great time! The instructor was really nice and helpful, and I can tell is a really good teacher. Ill definitely be coming back here, and would encourage anyone in the area who wants to try jiujitsu or mma to check them out.

I would like to quickly add that I am a studen here and I find this place a majority better than most of the other places I have been to. To start if there are 2 classes he kids class and the adult class so if you send you kids here you don’t have to worry about other people as much and Randy is a amazing coach in my opinion he is one of the best!

One of the reasons I train jiu jitsu over just lifting weights or running is for the camaraderie. When you work hard with other people that are trying just as hard as you towards the same goal, friendships are formed whether your trying to make friends or not. Coach Randy and the Genesis team are some of my best friends... and all i wanted to do was strangle people lol.
