Great place with great people!Everyone is welcoming and there is always a positive atmosphere. You’re not treated like a student, you’re treated like family. I regularly drive 40 mins each way just to train there. Cannot recommend GB Burleson highly enough.

My brother and I have been training here since they first opened, and throughout the way out jiu jitsu has improved in a way I never thought it would. Throughout the years my whole family has signed up and we all love it so much! Everybody at this gym is so kind and we all treat each other like a huge family. The coaches and staff all have the biggest hearts, and care about you as a person, and as well you’re jiu jitsu. Jiu jitsu has taught me so much and made me a better person myself. So I definitely recommend Gracie Barra Burleson!

I figured I give it a year before providing feedback on the academy, so here it is. I wanted to start bjj for the longest time and finally made the decision a year ago. Professor Buddy Roberts, Coach Miller, Coach Rachael, Coach Joe and Coach Steve are exceptional instructors who are well versed in the art of Jui Jitsu and follow the Gracie Barra Philosophy. They bring all of us together, giving us a sense of family and fraternity. The training times are accommodating to our work schedules as there are morning classes, mid-day classes and evening classes. Joining Gracie Barra Burleson is like joining a second family. If youre looking for a place to learn self defense, get in shape, and build your confidence in a family friendly enviroment look no further. Jiu Jitsu for everyone!

When first stepping foot into the Gracie Barra Gym I could have never guessed how much jiujitsu, and the way it is instructed at the gym would change me for the better. Not only was able to realize that I got an amazing workout, but I also understood that I was changing as a person. Professor Buddy, Coach Rachel, Coach Miller, and Coach Steve teach more than just the gentle art, they teach morals. From the Tiny Champions to GB2, people who participate and people who watch their children/siblings/significant others roll, learn to have respect, integrity and responsibility. We learn how to protect ourselves and better ourselves. Upon signing up, the school will give you a gi and belt. From then on out it is up to YOU to put in the work and work your way up the chain. Nothing is just given here, it is earned. If you have been looking for a place to train and wouldn’t mind being apart of a new family that only wants to see you grow, then you’ve found the right place! Gracie Barra, Jiu jitsu for everyone!

Professor Buddy is the trainer you want your kids to be coached by. One can see it by the way he teaches kids how to conduct themselves, learning jiu-jitsu, learn respect, teamwork. WOW! There is so much I can say about him, but that would be unfair to the rest of the amazing coaches that give their 200%.My son that lacked self-esteem and doubted himself a lot in six months has become a kid afraid of nothing. He accepts challenges without doubting himself. I suspect it was due to the constant competition he gets every Thursday; he gets pushed to his limits going against kids of different sizes. One advice I have to parents is to get there 20min before class begins, the parking lot is small, so youd likely end up parking next to Taco casa or next to the driving school parking lot-they dont like it-.

What an awesome family oriented program! The Owners and their families are very involved and one of the owners is a former UFC fighter and teaches adults, teens, kids, and also specializes in ladies programs teaching them self defense and awareness. I strongly encourage you to take a free class and learn for yourself. You will enjoy the family experience as well as learn a valuable skill to not only protect yourself but get in shape doing it.

We picked this place out for our son and could not be happier with this facility. The teachers make it FUN FUN FUN for the kids and our son has a permanent smile on his face the entire class. The classes for kids are well managed, professional, and have a very friendly group of children. They help each other learn and laugh and welcome new comers with open arms. The parents and staff all welcomed us with open arms too and we have really enjoyed attending classes every night. Our son is totally hooked on Jiu-Jitsu now. Thank You Gracie Barra Burleson for offering an incredible Jiu-Jitsu gym in our community. You guys are amazing!

I’ve been going for a couple weeks and was really nervous. The nervous feeling was quickly erased. I have never felt so welcomed or accepted before. Everyone is so kind, from the coaches to the other students. Everyone always makes you feel like they have known you for years.I can’t recommend this school enough. I will always be loyal to Gracie Barra Burleson and Coach Roberts. His team is the best and I am blessed and happy to have found this place!!! If you are nervous or unsure, please just walk in for 5 minutes and you will see what I mean. Any skill level or fitness level.... doesn’t matter. They make everyone feel accepted and wanted!!

Let me say that if youre thinking about training Jiu Jitsu, you wont regret training here. I spent several months training with this team and loved every bit of it. Professor Buddy and all the coaches here are great, attentive, helpful, and amazing practitioners. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the people who train here love Jiu Jitsu and helping build you up. I made the decision to move out of Texas and I still think of my training partners and days spent here. Take the free training and have a great time because you will make some great friends here. I look forward to seeing you all on the mats.

I was new (still am) and found the instructors and partners to be very nice and open, much like an extended family.I came here for various reasons, but found that it helps with heart health and mental health the most.I recommend this place to anyone and everyone (all ages).

Awesome school. I have trained in numerous arts over the years and have always found Gracie schools to be the best. I have had the privilege of training with Royce and Rodrigo Gracie. Carlos Gracie Sr and Helio Gracie have passed down a great art. I was so happy to see a Gracie school open within driving distance and even happier to find this school and the head instructor Buddy Roberts is great with kids and adults. And very humble, you would never know he has fought in the UFC if you didn’t find out yourself. My son loves the classes and my daughter started tonight and already was practicing techniques at home. If you don’t know much about Jiu jitsu check out the first UFC fights that were actually started by the Gracie family to show how effective the art is against all opponents of all sizes. Come check out a class you won’t regret it. Great for confidence, respect, and team building. As a soon to be retired SFC in the Army this school had the structure and core values I was looking for.
