Master Martin understands child development. He knows how to motivate and encourage my 3 year old while still instilling discipline and respect. My child has fun learning and playing and doesn’t even realize he is developing skills like balance, memory, control and stamina that will help him outside of karate class.

This program was great for my son. He learned focus, discipline and agility. But when we put my daughter in, she was an over achiever and was not challenged enough. It is set up so that everyone in the program moves up at the same time at the same pace and promotion is pretty much a given. There is no room to take on more challenge if a student is highly driven. What was more disappointing is that when we asked for more challenge, the main instructor was rude, disrespectful and belittling to parents. He could not even hold a discussion or explain his reasoning with kindness. Ironically, before we put her in the class we asked about how she can move up and be more challenged, he said she can be reevaluated. However, when it came down to it he could not even discuss it without being nasty to us. Fortunately, he did let us out of our contract which had a 3 MONTH notification of intent to leave requirement. After 3 years in the program with my son, it was an ending that has left a bad taste in our mouths. My son joined when he was 6 he is now 9; it was good at that young age. My daughter joined 6 months ago and it was not good.

Rude behavior! Don’t expect to start classes on time!They said training starts at 6.15 , when I ask the trainer at 6.30 why the class is not stated he said don’t come tomorrow onwards take your money back ..I did not expect this kind of answer.They never follow the timings on top of that rude behavior ! I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!I did not expect that kind of rude behavior from a Martial Arts teacher , don’t believe they will train my kid in a good way. So discontinued.

Love this place!!! Started kickboxing a little over a month ago and I cant get enough. 45 minutes go way to fast now its 5 days a week is perfect! The training is amazing, the one on one, the free t shirt and gloves are included. Each class teaches you something different. No class is the same as the last. Cannot rant and rave enough. Come join, you wont be disappointed. Promise! The people in the class are amazing. They are encouraging to everyone. Its worth every second. Please come join..

Excellent place. We have been going to Canton Karate for several years now and the staff is fantastic. Incredibly patient and a wonderful atmosphere for the kids. Both my kids have been enjoying it. Highly recommend.

We have been attending Canton Karate for over three years. I love the curriculum and the instructors. It is age appropriate and they learn many different skills. Master Martin also makes sure that each class is fun! I recommend to anyone!

We really love this place. Ck Skillz has a family type atmosphere. Everyone is always kind and friendly.The staff is amazing . You can sit back with a cup of coffee and watch your child have fun with their peers.My childs focus and self esteem have improved incredibly, which was the main purpose for putting my child in Karate in the first place. The instructors told me they would be working on the children emotionally and socially, and in time I would notice a change, and we have !! Thank you Ck Skillz !

My son and I both trained together about 4 years ago. We have trained, tested, and grew in our skills together. Its an awesome way for parent/child relationship building. Master Martin is a great instructor for adults as well as children. We have learned a great deal from him. Highly recommended as a place for your future martial art training.

My 6 year old son loves coming to class. Has has improved in so many ways. He has better confidence and focus and he has gotten stronger mentally and physically. Plus, the team at Canton Karate does this all in a fun environment for the kids and keeps the parents involved in and outside of class. Absolutely 5 stars!

Amazing staff! My son is a active 5 year old the has been with Canton Karate for 2 years now and loves the staff. I love him being able to have an outlet for his energy that also teaches respect and discipline while keeping him fit. He loved it so much I had to give it a tray and joined the adult kickboxing fitness class. Great place highly recommend!!

This is the greatest karate studio! Master Martin is fantastic with the kids! Also, we had a birthday party here where all of the guests got to break a wood board. It was SO much fun! And, the staff at Canton Karate took care of so many things during the party that I was able to actually participate and enjoy it without running around!

My 7 year old son was trying to find something that was his sport or activity. His brother had soccer and sister had gymnastics but he had nothing that seemed to interest him. We signed my son up for the 6 week trial period and during that time we observed a new confidence in him and we discovered that Karate is in his blood. My son had a few rough days not knowing what to do at first in the class but Master Martin was very patient and understanding. Canton Karate has been a wonderful experience and I genuinely look forward going to my sons Karate practice and observing the skills he learns.

Our daughter LOVES everything about coming to classes! She started last May, and hasnt looked back. Her confidence has grown so much, starting within weeks of starting! She loves how every week she is learning new skills, she loves the staff and she loves the challenges that they give them every week to work on. She looks forward to classes every week, and jumped at the opportunity to sign up for extra classes that would help her learn more. She went from being a complete gymnastics girl to everything karate. Her Christmas list was filled with rebreakable boards, pads, punching bags, t-shirts, room decorations and anything else she could think of to practice karate or that was karate! Its only been about 10 months, but you cant meet this girl and not know that she loves karate, and we have Canton Karate to thank for this! Overall, the staff at Canton Karate has changed our daughter in so many ways, but especially in her confidence! Were so glad we found them!

I’ve been doing the Canton Karate Skillz Fit and Hyper Fight Club for over a year and couldn’t be happier with the results! I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in, gained confidence and feel so much stronger. The self-defense training is invaluable and I know I could defend myself if I ever needed to.Class is high energy and fun. Everyone is so supportive of each other and encouraging. My daughter absolutely loves her classes at Canton Karate! We thought it might just be a short lived thing (6 week trial is a great deal to start!), but she loves everything about it. She is especially excited about the Hyper Pro training!

My son started Karate lessons at Canton Karate several months ago and we cant be happier with that decision! My son has gained so much confidence. Canton Karate is an amazing place for your kids to learn basic and advanced karate skills, how to defend themselves against predators, and also to enjoy being entertained by the many fun and exciting mini games the instructor has planned for each lesson. The staff and fellow students are all incredibly kind and helpful, and the instructor is fantastic at teaching, too. The office staff are always happy to help you when in need, and are always a pleasure to talk to. The interior of the building is also incredibly clean, making it by far one of the most sanitary karate schools I have seen. This is a great place for me to be after school, and Im thoroughly glad my mother had me join.

Canton karate is a perfect place when your kids learn discipline, focus. my kids enjoy every class, wonderful instructor, nice staff, and also clean place, bathroom, change room, play zone, everything is always clean. my family and me were happy here.

My 6 yr old son has been in karate here for almost a year. He has gained self confidence and respect for others. He has learned to sit down, show his respect for Master Martin, and stay quiet when others are talking (still a work in progress). He has also gained knowledge of how to work your body to stay in healthy shape. The school is clean and well-maintained. Lori who works in the office is phenomenal!! If you ever have any concerns or questions, she is always willing to talk things through until you issue is resolved!! Our experience at Canton Karate has been great from the very beginning!!!

From my son, who is 11 years old and recently started lessons here: They are very kind and fun. They play fun games at the end of each session that help build up our karate skills. They make doing martial arts very fun. They always put others before themselves.

My 7 year old son has been going to Canton Karate for 3-4 years now. We currently live in Commerce Township and without hesitation make the 30-40 drive twice a week to attend. On a daily basis, Master Martin demonstrates patience, dedication, kindness, understanding, and diligence. He pushes the kids to reach their fullest potential in a firm but fair way! Im very happy with my son at this martial arts school, this is the 2nd school we tried for my son. the 1st school my son had no interest in going to the point of being a battle to get my son interested and didnt last more than 2 months. we switched my son to Canton Karate around 9 months ago. it is such a different experience for him. now my son is always excited and cant wait to go to his next class, his attitude has changed for the better so much all the way around.(his respect to teachers and at home as well. now my husband and older son has taken an interest as well, we will be enrolling them at Canton Karate very shortly . My daughter started 4 weeks ago! She loves going and looks forward to it! It we have quite a ways to go but I already see an improvement in her concentration and she is diagnosed with ADHD. We will definitely be signing up for the year.

Its exciting to watch my grandsons face when he does something for the first time. I wont ever forget the look on his face when he broke a board for the first time. That moment alone was priceless .

Love Canton Karate! My son has been in their Early Skillz program for almost a year and I love the confidence it gives him! He is always super excited to go to class, see friends and learn new skills. I decided to try their adult hyper fit classes in the fall and became instantly hooked! I just love the people, the workouts and the confidence it has given me as well. From day 1 I have felt at home here and really like how the workouts can be easily modified to fit any fitness level. I honestly cant say enough good things about this business! If youre on the fence, I say give them a try...it may just be the thing youre looking for.

My son Azaan loves coming to karate! He has never been more excited about an afterschool activity before. I love it because I know he is learning more then he knows and in the long term make him a stronger person both mentally and physically. It helps to have great staff!

The instructors here sent my child away. After a week they asked me into the office and gave me my money back. No explanation, no reasoning, nothing. I was very upset as was my son. We waited a while before starting else where because my son continued to tell me he wanted to try. Hes now happily training three times a week and well on his way to becoming a black belt.

My son has been a student at Canton Karate for about 2 years. He loves the Skillz program they use. He gets so excited after every class to see if he earned his skill stripe. The stripes look so cute on their belts in all different colors. If he is unable to earn his stripe for that class he knows which one by the color, and I see him working extra hard and practicing to make sure he gets it next time. The place is very cleaning and very kid-friendly. My son has also made some really nice friends and is excited to go to classes. I have also seen improvement in his behavior since he first started Karate. At home he will even say yes Maam to me, I get such a kick out of it!

I love to go watch my grandson at his karate class. The young kids are a riot to watch!

After getting multiple bad reviews from different moms on Facebook.. they answered nasty to everyone and then removed the option to rate them. They do not treat all children the same it seems and are very discriminatory

Discriminate against children who are not perfect, put kids in time outs, and turn away special needs kids because they are annoying...Dont bring your children there.
