Mesa Middle School has been an experience to remember the teachers reward you if you try hard enough. And they are a very good school. I got student of the month, honor roll and I am appreciated by my team. They have plenty to learn and yet people discredit this school. I have many good friends, supportive school staff, teachers very supportive. I struggled with things but with help I have landed myself in a good place. Yes some of the teachers can be a bit strict but it is for our own good. It builds better character and resilience. All I can say is good things about this school should totally go to this school.

Mesa is amazing! The two grading guidelines is a great way to prepare for when we are graded even harsher in high school. Also, we are given group projects to help us work with all kinds of people, it helps develop social skills. The teachers are great and everyone that I know that attends Mesa also loves it.

This school has given me and other peers a chance to be ourselves, while still staying inside the appropriate guidelines of learning. I’ve met a lot of great people here, including teachers, and they’ve helped me a lot. The curriculum is fantastic and I’ve had no troubles in my classes.

Its a decent school but a lot of the kids only care about their looks, social media, and popularity. Very few people I know have less than one C and its disappointing to see kids like this. I know our sate scores look really bad but a lot of the teachers really care about the students. Sure, some seem awful but I know a ton of my teachers are constantly helping us to achieve to the top. Each day is different.

So sorry I have to give one star. Sure wish I could give none! This year, Mesa received and new principal. I understand she came from a neighboring elementary school where she was not revered by her staff or the families. I have met this woman. She lacks the personal skills necessary to be in the position she currently holds. Douglas County Schools must be desperate if this is the best they can get. Must not have been many applicants for this position last year. Mesa parents, we are in deep trouble. Hopefully she wont be here too long.

I completely disagree with the last review. I love this school, I encourage most parents to send their students here. But the experience of middle school is different for a lot of people. So Ill respect their opinion. Personally, I love my teachers and all the staff here. The school is very clean and I feel very comfortable here. Thats why I give it 5 stars. :)

This was our first year at Mesa. I was a bit nervous because my son has always been in private school. But I have to say it was a good experience for him. His teachers were all very friendly and encouraging. We did have some trouble with some kids making fun of him, but the assistant principal stepped in and nipped that in the bud! All the office staff are so very helpful and were always there for me if I had any concerns. They really made me feel at ease for sending my son there.

OK, I want to add, my favorite thing about this school is the days off. There is, as I said, bullying, and it is making a lot of kids want to commit suicide. But do the teachers do anything about it? Nope. I have had some issues like this in the past, and nothing is changing. Also, most of the teachers dont know what goes on at home that prevents me from getting work done. I try to tell them, but they still blame me. It isnt my fault, and surely many others have this same issue. Give this school a one star if you feel the same as me.

I absolutely can not wait to leave this school. Teachers dont care about any of the students, there is only around 3 teachers that actually know what their doing. I seriously DID NOT LEARN ANYTHING here. There is so much bullying that goes around and even teachers see it, but dont report it. I really wish the teachers and staff had respect for the students themselves and maybe the students themselves would give respect to the teachers. Please dont come to this school you will learn nothing and you will get treated like trash.

Mesa Middle School is a great school, there are a few teachers to stay away from and for me the bullying is very minimal. Most of the teachers care about your learning and they are willing to teach you so I would recommend coming to this school. It is a very good school and I am sad to leave it.

What is going on at Mesa Middle School? Why cant they seem to make sure that they have the correct supervision when it comes to the students? My child sent me a text to let me know that they had no teacher in their math class. They informed me that they should have a substitute and they did not show up to class at 7:30am when the late bell rang. When you call Mesa Middle School you cant get anyone to answer the phone, to let them know that they have a class of children with no adult supervision. But this should not happen; they should NOT have a class that does not have a teacher in the classroom for 10 minutes. Even if a substitute does not show they should be aware of it and make sure that a responsible adult is in the room to monitor the students. At 7:40am another teacher came into class because a student went and told them that they had no teacher in the room. At 7:44am a substitute finally showed up to class. What is going on in the office at Mesa Middle School that can allow for a class to have no substitute in the room for 14 minutes and the office does nothing about it. The students are the ones who got an adult in the class after 10 minutes, not the office. What if something happened, who would have been in the room to insure the safety of my child? What is the plan Mesa Middle School when a substitute does not show up? Do you just let the students sit around and do nothing until someone does show up? This is a concern that NEEDS to be addressed before something happens, not after a child gets hurt Mesa Middle School. The principal does nothing to look out for the best interest of our children; hopefully this review will be seen by someone who can make a difference.

Are you going to apply for a job at this school? I would tell you to think twice. The Administration does not value or support their teachers or anyone who works at this school. They do not value good teachers, and all they want is a new teacher who is cheaper and easy to manipulate. We always have teachers out and have a hard time finding subs or getting them to return. Then when we do have a good sub they are so busy because they have to cover on all prep periods. They are lucky to get a 23 minute lunch. Trust me stay away from Mesa Middle School, this is my last year along with several other teachers.

Attention everyone, I have to say some things about mesa. Last year I was a eighth grade student here. Both years I was here, there were ups and downs. Although the second year the principal made a lot of changes in the school that I do not respect nor like. During the second year a new principal was hired and I dont know if it was her decision or not but the school went into a project learning based curricular and it was fun at first but a quarter through the year I just wanted a worksheet or something. Its also true that she cancelled eighth grade continuation and replaced it with a stupid carnival that went after school instead of during it. It was a waste of money to the school and unnecessary. I put five stars because this was the principals fault and not at all the schools. The school itself is amazing with two stories and plenty of nice kids. The first year I was there it was fun and entertaining. I was in the Kodiak Pod and it will always be in my favorite memories. I know what this school is like at its best and at its worst. Im hoping this new principle will bring the school back to the best it was at two years ago. Thats it, I love this school and Im going to miss the teachers and familiar halls as I move on to dc as a freshman. This is the truth and nothing but the truth. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Theyre getting rid of the BEST teacher I have had at Mesa. he was sick and wasnt have a good year as it is constantly having to go to the hospital and getting tests done. yes he had to miss some school days for it but thats not his fault. he talked to our class saying that at the end of the year he was leaving because of budget cuts but we know he wasnt really being cut. they didnt want to deal with him being sick. he was my favorite teacher at Mesa and his wife worked there, shes leaving too for him. two amazing teachers gone. thats absolutely ridiculous.other than that the teachers dont understand that we have a LIFE AT HOME. thanks for the ENDLESS work and think that i wont have anything else to do because i did. and dealing with the family problems i had didnt make it any better. all the maps given to me didnt help teach me a single thing. and giving me a C after putting hard work into literally everything was absolutely ridiculous.i got so stressed from school, and getting in trouble with my friends for being too loud was so dumb because we are literally just expressing ourselves and too loud? please we were talking and knowing there was a group next to us yelling really made us feel understood and accepted. 🙄bullying was pretty bad. not for me but there were a lot of kids at mesa that were suicidal and cutting. i thought this was so sad because teachers saw it and did absolutely nothing. i wish that they cared more because in the beginning of the year i was depressed and no one cared even when sitting alone and sad.i could go on for HOURS about why i dislike this school but i do want to give a shout out to some of the GOOD teachers that are at mesa.they are... Mr. Weiss, Mr. Davis, Ms. Kriser, Mrs, Kovach, and finally, the teacher leaving Mr. Alvarado.if you made it this far i hope you got something out of this, i did meet some of my best friends at this school though, so thats good.

Today is the final day of my attendance at Mesa Middle School, and while I could be out celebrating, I’m here, writing my final goodbye, and thoughts. To put it simply, this school is garbage. That’s why I’m going to talk about the many things wrong with this school. In the original version of this review, I went over my 7th grade year, but its too many characters. Other large bits also got cut out too. Now, 8th grade, oh boy. 8th grade is a tragic story, full of dark twists, and feelings of complete and utter hopelessness. This year, I was in Panda pod. Now, the thing you have to know about Panda pod is that all of the teachers are for the most part, wonderful and charismatic, except for one. I’m not going to give any names. It baffles me as to why this person even teaches anymore. They obviously hate children, because they are constantly ticked off at every little thing a kid does. That’s the thing you have to remember though. Middle schoolers are not grown people, they are CHILDREN. We may have the word “teen” in our ages, but we are still children. If you can’t handle the stuff kids will pull, you shouldn’t be teaching. You miss ONE single paper and they look down on you like you’re nothing. It’s almost like they’ve forgotten that we’re all just human, and we make mistakes. Also, fun little fact, I haven’t learned a single thing from their teaching. Everything I’ve been able to accomplish in that class is thanks to teaching from fellow classmates, and help from parents. Seriously, just retire.Other than that teacher, the Panda pod is pretty good. There is the occasional self-degrading feeling from the other teachers, but it’s pretty rare. The humanities teacher deserves a lot of credit for being very supportive and caring, even in tough situations. Speaking of which, 8th grade is probably the first time I’ve ever experienced some slight form of depression. Why? Because of this school. The workload, the pressure, everything. I get it. It’s 8th grade and they’re trying to prepare us for high school. That’s fine, but don’t drop homework on us 24/7 just so you can mimic our futures. Let us enjoy our one last year of childhood before we get flung into a high school for 4 years. The stress is unreal.Side thought, but if you’re in any way quirky or different, and legitimately are an “outside the box” person, please don’t come here. The entire school is overrun by annoying 14 year old hypebeasts who will ruin the experience.Anyways, all this ties into my next point of interest, a teacher that I had this year. Now, once again, I can’t give any names, but I will say that they are a male. My god, I have too many things to say. First of all, he’s EXTREMELY creepy around the 8th grade girls, as he puts his hand on their backs as he talks to them in a quiet voice. It is my belief that this man is in some way, a predator, but I’m just saying this based off of what I’ve seen. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more disconnected man when it comes to the kids of today. He literally has no idea how to make the class fun and engaging in any shape or form, for anybody. The thing that makes me the most mad about this class is the fact that I think I lost the knowledge I already had, after learning so much in 7th grade. His horrible tactics for teaching literally made me lose a years worth of growth, and now I’m most likely going to struggle with that class in 9th grade. I sincerely hope this guy gets his job taken away, or at least resigns in the next year or so. Nobody deserves this.If you want to come to this school, fine. Don’t be surprised though, if you have a large amount of, not so enjoyable experiences. Thank you for reading.(Side note: If you are now attempting to find out who I am, good luck. I layered 4 virtual proxy networks on top of each other, and this google account is made with them. Let me share my opinion. Don’t police me.)

I find this school to be a joke there are stupid polices that protect people from openly expressing opinion like there being no tolerances to any derogatory speech ME time being a class is simply laughable as well as the joke that is the cell phone rules on top of the fact that the schools wifi blocks things like snapchat or instagram. To another point there have been so many over the top dumb situation that happen to students like last year Ive spent the first 20 minutes of class waiting for the subsituite to arrive and at the end of last year the fired the best teacher in the mad house leading to my last point I know someone who got 3 days lunch detention and a phone call home strongly encouraging out of school punishment For.... throwing a single solitary piece of paper at his friend during lunch. If you are reading this please dont send your child to this joke of a school.

Oh and watch out for them white girls, they can be really mean to people who they dont even know, like me. Constant use of phones in class are very distracting. Heck i was in cheerleading for my 7th grade year, and my name was not evn in the book, i saw all of my cheer famliy name BUT mine, honeslty!! Sadly, I am going to give this school a 1 star. Mesa was a very good school last year when Mrs.Smith was the principle. From what I see Carrie Stephenson, lacks respect towards students and parents. She also has changed much of the way Mesa works and looks to the community. In the past month or so she has cancelled 8th grade continuation. I have has 3 students go threw Mesa and one 8th grader currently, and have never had a principle cancel 8th grade continuation. I find that she does not fit her position, and glad that she will be leaving Mesa, so maybe when my 7th grader goes in Mesa next year the school can be restored to its full potential.

Im here in 8th grade, and was here last year. 7th was extremely stressful, having two grading guidelines. (one being IB and the other being classic) IB is literally disgraceful. None of the original traits are taught, instead youre just expected to know them. I was at an IB school in the past, and it was nothing like this. The teachers are all underpaid, and most of the good teachers have already left. If youre lucky, youll make it into an OK pod for 7th, and another OK pod for 8th. DISGRACEFUL TO INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE. Depressing, stressful, kids are in the mental hospital here all the time for cutting or attempting suicide. -9999999/10.
