We love this school and the community that comes with it. We have several kids at the school and the education that this school provides is incredible. I also really like that they encourage their athletes to play multiple sports rather than focusing on one.

We had a really good experience with the Kyrene District elementary program but found their middle school system lacking in many areas. That is when after much research I choose Chandler Preparatory Academy for my children to attend both middle school and high school. We have been a CPA family for over 4 years. Both children transitioned very well from public school to the Great Hearts culture. It only took about a week for them to get used to the uniforms. I feel that the stricter dress code and limitations on personal electronics helps my children to focus in the classroom and develop better relationships with their teachers and peers. Both children quickly found very positive and encouraging friend groups. We have had no issues with bulling or harassment. Attending CPA through COVID was a godsend as the entire Great Hearts operation was dedicated to getting children safely back into the classroom. Where last year my children were able to attend school in person for 90% of the school year, my neighborhood high school was online for three quarters. I am very satisfied on how CPA mitigated COVID and continues to provide in person education in a post pandemic world.I find the student body to be diverse and vibrant with students from all different backgrounds. There is a high participation of parent involvement. School pride is evident by the cleanliness and orderly nature of the school grounds. Teachers are highly assessable to both students and parents. Each teacher/class offers weekly tutoring hours. Students also have time after lunch to study, attend tutoring, or get some fresh air on the field. There is a robust mentoring program for new students as well as student lead tutoring programs for math and science above what the teachers offer. My children have very different learning styles where school comes easy for one while the other struggles. Through the CPA ESS program, my youngest gets additional support that helps her be successful with the more rigorous curriculum. I do feel that she would have “gotten lost in the shuffle” at Kyrene Middle School but at CPA she gets the support and encouragement she needs to make learning a positive experience. This school focuses on a classical liberal arts curriculum that not only cultivates the hearts and minds of students in the pursuit of Truth, Beauty and Goodness, but also graduates student leaders that are prepared for success at the college level. The school produces a very well rounded student and encourages, through CPA programs, to participate in athletics, music, art, mentorship, and community service. The Great Hearts school system offers transparency on their budgets, fundraising, and operations, which goes to show that the school motto of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness starts at the very top of the organization. You owe it to your children to consider CPA for their secondary education. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions about CPA.

I have sent several kids through CPA over the last 8 years. The kids never love it when they are here, it is a rigorous academic school. But when they get to college they always thank us for making them stay with it. It prepares them very well. The sports programs are great too.

I went to Archway since Kindergarten and it was a very educationally stable school. I am now in seventh grade and it is going downhill. One girl is turning the whole school bad and is setting bad examples and drug selling. That is the only issue i have had other than harsh dress coding.

The school is very well designed to prepare middle schoolers to high school, and high schoolers to college. They prepare you to go to no matter what college you want to go to, and (if you went early) built everything they teach ground up. Although it is difficult to get in, and difficult to adjust in the new type of school, its friendly community welcome you and helps you get on level with everyone else. I dont know what these political rumors on here are, but im not familiar with any of those claims. Overall, its a really great school, and should be considered by every parent willing to pay some money to set up their child for success.

When I was in elementary school, I knew I was in a “not as good with education” school. When I came here in sixth grade, it was a challenge at first, but now I feel smart and my self esteem has definetly went up since I have come here.

Although I was only at Chandler Preparatory Academy for 3 years (6th-8th grade), I nevertheless hold it in the utmost esteem. Where do I begin? Firstly, I must address the claims in previous reviews that CPA allows inappropriate or dangerous behavior- this is simply not true and I am offended that former students would spread these sorts of falsehoods around the internet. On the contrary, the administration was very involved in the wellbeing of the student body, oftentimes encouraging students to speak up if anything was bothering them. I now go to a public high school, and I sometimes wish my teachers cared about me half as much as the CPA faculty. Continuing on that vein, the bonds I formed among my peers were amazing; bluntly stated, it is literally the easiest place in the world to make friends. However, while the academics are advertised as highly challenging, I found that I was deeply bored and unstimulated at CPA, especially in the STEM subjects. It is truly a liberal arts curriculum, and I was appalled at the fact that no AP, IB or Capstone classes were offered. Additionally, I considered the homework load to be laughably small and the general atmosphere to be overly conservative; it was for these reasons that I had to break free. Of course, I am a hyper- competitive person when it comes to academics, and while I thought CPA was quite easy, a lot of my classmates regarded it as very challenging. In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Chandler Preparatory Academy, and I would encourage potential students to come try it out for themselves!
