I started my daughter in Kindergarten at Champion this past July because I loved that they were sports based and require sports participation. Not only are the teachers and staff super great and supportive, but her teacher is amazing!!!! She is so easy to communicate with and responds immediately. She also keeps me updated on my daughters progress. There are always activities that involve parents and my daughter already has so many friends and everyone, including teachers, greets her by name. Such a great school.

Wonderful school, that cares about the well being, education and extra curricular activities of the children. This school is able to nurture and develop children with special needs and educational challenges. The staff is positive, pleasant to speak with, very educated and truly professional. The children are thriving at this school and it is wonderful that the staff knows all of the childrens names even if they are not the teacher of the students class or coach. The administration is very involved and I am thankful for the positive leadership role they present and represent to the children. Highly recommend this school that has locations in both Chandler & South Mountain-Phoenix.

This school is highly unorganized. There is absolutely zero communication between the staff/teachers and parents. I cant even tell you the amount of emails I have sent over the past 2 years to my childs teachers for clarification on assignments, grades, etc without a response back. They do not focus on schoolwork as much as they do on athletics. They have a library but my child has only been allowed to use it once in the 2 years she has gone here. Side note: This school has never advertised or even claimed/shown that they work with special needs children. The staff here plays favorites with the students and if you are a star athlete you will not be held responsible for your actions. They do not know how to handle bullies, especially bullying between girls. Again it all plays into favoritism. Ive had teachers tell me that they dont even get involved anymore when the girls are bickering because they dont know what to do. They also do not know how to handle sexual harassment and thieving. Some of the coaches and teachers curse at the kids when they are frustrated and most of the students here can be out of control so Im sure frustration is high. The coaches play music with cuss words and sexual language during workout and before assemblies. Mind you I dont care what people listen to but this is a school with kids under 13-14 years of age.Every Saturday there are games so be prepared to watch parents get into shouting matches that involve swear words and threats over uncalled fouls etc. The coaches also play favorites on the court and if youre a parent volunteer coach be prepared to be treated terribly. (Note: Children at this school are required to play 2 sports a year and pay $40 for each sport for uniforms).Theyre not bad teachers, theyre quite nice most of them. Theyre just horrible at communicating, staying unbiased, and ill prepared in dealing with the everyday incidents that can occur within the student body. The current principal Ms. Bulger, bless her heart, tries to handle all of these situations but it seems she isnt getting the support from the coaches/teachers that she needs to in order to handle the bullying etc. Most of the teachers here are really young so maybe theyre inexperienced? The school isnt the absolute worst, we loved that our child got to play her favorite sports but that isnt enough.

I like this school so much, kids are active, they keep you informed of all activities many ways: email, automatic call and so on. I recommend it. My daughter like the school and her teacher so much.

This school was a nightmare. I moved my son because I thought it would be better for him, but it was a disaster. His grades were failing when his grades were never an issue before. The school started Saturday school for kids with unfinished home work. They have our kids for over 40 hours a week, the work can be sent home. Im a single parent with a full time schedule. The teachers played inappropriate music in class. My son asked to use the restroom multiple times and when they said no they said he had behavior issues and kicked him out of class. The coaches told kids to shut up and used an appropriate language. The teacher also mocked him in front of his classmates. My son is back at his old school and it has been night and day for him. His grades are beyond passing and I havent received one complaint from his school.

This school is so unorganized. Teachers change constantly. They offer extras because the actual education is horrible. Good luck!!

This school is good for some. Someone said that this school is great for special needs children. It WAS NOT great for my child. While he was there , he had alot of behaviorial issues and was expressing alot of frustration because he could not read and write like the other children. He is a Kindergartner. I was frustrated because EVERYDAY there were complaints. His teacher would put him at an isolation table where he would sit for the entire time. I was frustrated because no matter the discipline he received at home, his behavior became worse. I pulled him out of the school, put him in a regular school , within a few months, I was meeting with a team of counselors and special ed teachers as well as a psychologist and an autism specialist. I was referred to a developmental pediatrician because the team was not allowed to diagnose anything and we learned that my son has Aspergers . If this school is so keen and specializes in helping special needs kids, then why did they not suspect that my son had a disability to start with? When they did the preenrollment evaluation they said that he is struggling with tracing, writing and so on and is below his age level. I was alarmed but was told that they would work with him. It never happened and there were never any attempts made to even try to further look into what was going on with the little guy As a parent I just thought that I was a failure because no motivation or discipline helped my son. My son is now in a special class in a public school and is doing very well. Thanks to the wonderful Mesa Public Schools staff, my little one and I are getting the services that we need to help him and he and is excelling . I am sorry but I COMPLETELY DISAGREE WITH THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE GREAT PROGRAMS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS. Instead the teacher butchered the poor guy and one day one of the aides suggested that I take him to a psychologist which I later learned they cannot tell a parent that. All together, the school does have a great sporting program and there are many wonderful staff members. We just happen to run into some poor luck
