My daughters enjoyed the guided tour with Daniel from Admissions. They learned a lot (and so did I)...Gaming & Gaming Management is a thing! By thing, I mean a minor. We loved the intimate size of the school, the friendly students who said hello along the way, and the family feel between staff. I appreciate a professor from New Sciences taking a few moments to offer some advice about taking courses that allow students to have options. The museum inside of the library was one of my favorite things! Love that new students get iPad and passports. This school seems to really be invested in the future of their students.

This is MY HBCU, class of 22. Best thing I could of ever did was come to JCSU. Everyone I have came into contact with have been nothing but positive.

Exceptionally advantageous shopping you simply need to recall that this is a local market so there are a ton of things that are not conveyed from the store its similar to a general store it has most things however not everything except rather its as yet an extraordinary spot to shop it supersedes the service stations by numerous miles

Very convenient shopping you just have to remember that this is a neighborhood market so there are a lot of items that are not carried from the store its sort of like a convenience store it has most things but not everything but its still a great place to shop it overrides the gas stations by many miles

Everyone was friendly staff was amazing

Great welcoming but when it came time for our campus tour thats when the laziness kicked in. Yes it was drizzling but if you walked in with an umbrella you can walk back out with one. We never got our campus visit after driving down from DC & when you ask a staff member no one seems to know anything. Thanks for everything JCSU!!

Bad experience was told did not need appointment then when I got there I was told I had to have &appointment didnt get vaccine.

Johnson C Smith University is a HBCU that provides a quality education in a strong educational environment. JCSU operates on a beautiful campus near Downtown Charlotte,North Carolina. Diversity of faulty and students supports the Global interest of the University family and residents of Charlotte.

Some of the staff is great with telling you what you want to hear. But they are not good with helping with nothing you literally have to call 40 times before you get help. The school is falling apart it smells like mildew. I cried when I had to leave my son.. The fact I was going home to a better place to sleep at night. The ceiling falling in in dorm room.. Just a mess all around. Now that I know what I am looking for I have no worry...

The University In The Charlotte Area…

I came for a film festival last weekend and was impressed by the beautiful campus. Older historic buildings are in pristine condition and quite a few modern updates have recently taken place. Awesome to have a HBCU close by. Unfortunately they only have one masters program, so the likelihood of me taking classes here is slim. Please visit if you get a chance!

By far the best choice Ive made for college. Its not too far away from home. As well as walking distance to uptown Charlotte. I love it here, freshmen year staying on campus treated me well. I am not a junior living off campus, but will be moving back on for senior year. Love the small class rooms, teachers are ALWAYS willing to listen. Every school has a problem with the business office or financial aid, so thats a normal flaw but at the end of the day, Johnson C. Smith is worth it.

Beautiful Campus

On Friday March 16, 2018 I drove from Columbia,SC to JCSU to me my classmate Calvin Lewers. First we shared a 50 year hug. That’s how long it been since we graduated in 1968 that I’d seen Calvin. Then we were bedside of the Reverend Dr. Raymond Worsley age 90. Rev was my closest mentor at JCSU and he’d married Calvin and Vera.We went on to break bread, reminisce and talk about our up and coming Class Reunion activities.Calvin drove me in a tour of Charlotte and JCSUs campus.May 18-20, 2018 will be JCSUs 150th Anniversary. As the Golden Reunion Class we’re pert of the celebration. With gold caps and gowns, in rows we’ll march behind the graduating seniors, wow what an honor.I look forward to scores of hugs when Class Of ‘68 meets in Reunion...

I love Smith, Its definately given me oppurtunities that I could not have come across on my own. The small classroom sizes have given me the opportunity to know my professors on a more personal level and i feel like the proefessors are invested in our success as students. I feel like a student there and not just a number like at big universities.

Awesome message from President Carter at the National Alumni Meeting during Reunion weekend. I was inspired to participate more into HBCUs to make sure the Legacy that has touched so many lives continue to burn a torch into the lives of students in the US as well as Global history. My husband James (Bartow) Mather class of 72 allowed me to witness such a terrific momentous atmosphere of the Schools Anniversary and his 45th Class Reunion weekend. Hail to JCSU!!!!!!!.

JCSU transformed my life in so many positive facets. I received an excellent education both inside and outside the the classroom. I have made friendships for life at JCSU. It was one the best decisions of my life to attend and graduate from JCSU. Once a Smithite, always a Smithite!
