Our youngest son has attended WCDS for the last two summers and our oldest son attended with him this summer. Not only was WCDS flexible and understanding with our schedules but our boys had a blast and learned so much about places all over the world. I really enjoyed seeing some of my favorite countries and cultures highlighted. I was especially humbled when my boys talked about meditation and breath work - something very near and dear to my heart and such an important tool in self regulation and growth.I also have to commend WCDS for picking such excellent staff. There is not one member of the staff or teacher that doesnt get it. They all see clearly and really work so hard to make sure all the children are loved and cared for on a daily basis. I cannot thank them enough for allowing me the opportunity to learn how to trust others with my children again. Our youngest son was severely abused by a daycare provider when he was three months old (before we moved to STL) so it has been quite the journey to get to where we are now. We werent sure if he was going to make it through the night at one point and they basically told us our child might be a vegetable moving forward (due to a traumatic brain injury) and that wed have to just wait and see. Thankfully he has overcome all odds and most people would not know our traumatic background from the outside. Thank you WCDS for your support, for being the light at the end of the tunnel and working so hard to serve our community!
