Very welcoming...no prior experience in quite a few of the classes. Experienced teachers explain and breakdown the steps so you can understand how to do the moves! This has been the best (and most fun!) physical and mental exercise I have done. Good variety of music in the musical theater class.

Ive had a great experience at Glenwood dance. Before finding it, I used to believe dance was just something other people could do. Now I know that even as an adult beginning dancer I still have a home in dance to call my own in a neighborhood of dancers love and support.

I experienced transphobia as a transwoman at this studio and when I brought it to the owners attention we initially were going to have a meeting to discus the situation, but then they canceled it saying that the situation was not a big deal. Gaslighting & passive-aggresive behavior is clearly a tolerated and welcomed behavior at this studio that I refuse to participate in. I’ve heard transmen have a fine experience here, but I can’t say the same for this place from my experience.

I started taking ballet classes here several years ago and now Im hooked! I was in my 40s when I started, and I had no experience, but the teachers were so supportive -- they made me feel like I could do it. Their classes are for adult students and they have them at all different levels. If you want to get back into dance, or want to start dancing, this is the place. Right now they are offering mostly live online classes, but normally they have a full schedule of drop-in classes in ballet, contemporary, modern, tap, musical theater, jazz, sassy heels and BeMoved and more. They also offer social dance classes in various Latin and ballroom styles. The prices are reasonable (new students get their first class free) and the teachers are amazing. Their slogan is that they create a welcoming community of dance -- and they do!

Glenwood is the perfect studio whether youve been dancing your entire life or youve never donned a ballet shoe. The drop in classes allow for flexibility with a busy schedule and the rates are very reasonable. Most of all, the teachers are welcoming, talented, and creative!

This is the best dance environment I have ever been in!I started ballet as a pre-teen, and had stopped for 10 years! I had been wanting to start classes again for several years but was too afraid to jump back into it. The thought of starting ballet again as an adult is both soul breaking and terrifying. I finally came here and was surprised by the welcoming feel in the classes. Every teacher I have ever had has been phenomenal and I have never been made to feel uncomfortable or awkward. You do not have to have any previous dance experience to come to a class, just show up and enjoy the learning process! They also offer students an opportunity to participate in a casual recital a few times a year. It’s great to be able to work towards something! Now I just started taking beginning tap on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm, which Glenwood just added to their class schedule. It’s a blast! Another GREAT class with another GREAT teacher!

I took the summer Britney class -- what a fun way to learn some moves and get a bit of exercise! I would say that I was most comfortable when we spent one hour of class time to learn one minute of choreography. And its great that they video and upload the final run-through so that you can review afterwards and feel thoroughly accomplished (or embarrassed, depending on the week :P)

I LOVE GDS! After dancing as a kid and through high school, I returned to dance after a five-year hiatus. Needless to say I was out of shape and my technique was lousy...but I was immediately accepted and appreciated at GDS. The students and teachers are very kind and fun to be around. Its a really laid-back atmosphere, especially compared to some of the other studios in town. If you want to improve your dance skills and not be judged while doing it...Glenwood Dance Studio is the place to be. I take jazz, tap, ballet and contemporary here, and they also offer hip hop and a few other styles.
