My sons attended Pritzker in 2014- 2016, until we moved to South Florida. Great school for The Arts and for promoting creativity. The teachers are caring and relatable. For a city school, there is a great amount of diversity. Kids come from all parts of the city offering a diverse experience, which I loved. My boys are still missing this school and compare every school experience to Pritzker, from the teachers to the lunches. The principal was approachable and understanding. She seems off putting at first, but shes is really very sweet and the kids love her!

I have no idea what some of these people are talking about, this school is great. It offers a good education at your level, but the only way to achieve this is if you speak to the teachers about the work being too easy or hard. Not only are (most) of the teachers great, but the school offers many different types of arts you can enroll in for FREE. I am currently a student at this school and Im in 7th grade options. I also am in music and I play the flute. This school has opened up many musical and academic opportunities for me (seeing as I now play four instruments.) this school is great, 10/10.

I went there since kindergarten and transferred in 7th grade circa 2014. It was a good school when I was there and I felt that some of my teachers really cared about me. Others, of course, werent the fairest and there was drama with the administration at times. Great arts program when I was there, but seems things have taken a turn for the worst

Honestly this school helped me prepare for the rest of my life. The teachers were (for the most part) great and supportive.

I pulled my child out 4 years ago and it was one of the best decisions that I made with regards to his education. He was in the Options program and rotting in a chair, unchallenged because a student in the class was allowed to to whatever he wanted and had a doctors note specifically allowing him to not have to do the homework, nor stay in his chair. The Principal refused to support this students special needs and get him an aid as mandated by law. The entire class suffered and behavior was a problem because the one student set the bar very low.The principal tried having the police arrest me one day when I showed up to pick my child up. They had to explain to her that she cannot prohibit me from accessing my child and specifically asked me to seek intervention from CPS HQ which I did immediately the following Monday (this occurred on a Friday). That principal, Dr. Reese, was instructed to apologize to me and they bent over backwards to try and keep my kid in the school promising to fix everything. The student was finally assigned an aid but the Network Head (person above the principal) would not allow my son to go and offered us any seat in her network. This I believe was presumably to keep his scores in her network but we did not live close and I felt that the only reason my son was even in her network was he was promised an enhanced education. This was really shady and so I filled out paperwork at K12 (CVCS) behind their backs and my child was given a seat in March with the caveat that he do the entire years worth of work all over again the in the remaining time.I explained the options to my son and he could not wait to be out of there as the principal had begun pulling him from Spanish class and making him sit in front of her desk without any work. He complained and told me she Creeped me [him] out. He accepted the seat at K12 and did the work. AN Pritzker had been a bad choice. In the end, my child was later offered another seat at another public school but we decided not to gamble with his education anymore and now he has been offered a seat at Northside Prep which I am sure would not have happened had he stayed at Pritzker. It is sad to me that they take children and families with support and do not support their learning needs. In the end, we left but CPS forced that principal to give the child an aid, something that should have been explored in first grade instead of 4th grade after numerous injuries occurred from the childs behavior. Yes, physical injuries to which the nurse would complain about not having ice packs and not let parents know about the injuries either. The cousellor was also aware and never lifted a finger to do the right thing. It might have interfered with her and the nurses personal chat time they would engage in during the afternoon, even if a child puked outside the door (yes, I witnessed them ignoring a child that puked just gabbing away even though I stood in the doorway trying to get their attention).Leaving was the best choice for us and in case Ed pops on here to complain about people not participating in the school to make it a better place, I built book shevles for teachers, handled box tops, set up and broke down events, assisted teachers if they asked, cleaned the auditorium (children had dance class on there and would get shards of glass and staples from the weekend church events in their feet), garden, fixed all the picnic tables during my summer, participated in the fund raisers, sorted papers, organized books, you can pretty much name it and I problably did it Ed. Thank you Dr Reese for being so illogical and heart renchingly discompassionate. Your lack of skill and grace actually guided us to a harder but better track.

Honestly, it was a great school when I went there. From what I hear now, however, it seems to have gone downhill.
