Freddie is a very strong and creative martial artist and instructor. However, his teachings lack aggression which may cause his students problems in real world conflicts and self defense situations. From what I see this is a great place for kids to have fun, but it wont produce killers!!

I am a black belt Karate instructor who runs my own school. I met Freddie after seeing his ad from Craigslist. I saw a video he posted and I was very amazed by his skill level. I just felt like I had to meet him in person. He is a very genuine and nice guy. I invited him to my school to meet my students and to show them some techniques. He did a great job with sharing a part of his Art and all my students very very impressed. I have met many Martial Artists in my life but rarely will you ever meet anyone as skillful and talented in the Martial Arts like Freddie Lee.

I joined Freddies Modern Kung Fu through a recommendation of my close friend. It was a great experience. I even got my boyfriend to join the school. Sifu helped me develop my level of fitness and self defense abilities. He taught us Martial Art forms and we even had the opportunity to spar other students. We also had a lot of fun times and experiences outside of training, we were all close like a family. He is a great teacher who is very knowledgeable and wise. Anyone who has the opportunity to train here is very lucky.

I have seen the thing he does on YouTube it’s great! I want to put my two kids in his martial arts center but I never see them wear masks. I wonder why they don’t wear masks. I hope you can reply with some information so I can have my kids join.

Strong discipline & positive atmosphere.

Never been to this place. So I cant really judge how it really is in the school. But the way I see it on YouTube and stuff, it is a fun and good place to learn Kung Fu. I make music and beats on YouTube myself. I now live in the Netherlands and I plan to live in Chicago in 4-5 years. Then I am 18 or 19 years old. To also work with rappers and other producers. And at the same time also learn Kung Fu in this school. And maybe build a good bond with the Sifu and his children. Keep up the good work!

I have known Freddie since our time at Purdue. He is an amazing Martial Artist. I admire his work ethic. He put his everything in the Martial Arts back then and still to this day. You will rarely meet anyone in this day and age that is so passionate about anything. He has dedicated nearly 30 years of his life into the Martial Arts, that is amazing.

I trained with Sifu for 3 years. It was a great experience. I got much stronger than I ever was before. He taught me some Kung Fu forms. I made some great friendships with the students in the class as well. What I liked a lot about the classes were that they were very personalized. Every class was a small group setting which allowed me to progress more rapidly. I miss the training a lot.

I had my 2 boys join the school for a year. They loved the classes, they were always excited to train. Freddie had them workout to get fit, they had fitness challenges, they did sparring and wrestling, and they had fun games with nerf guns. Freddie was able to get the kids to learn while at the same time keeping them engaged by having fun. My boys got more fit and they gained a lot of confidence in their self defense abilities. I recommend this school to any parents that want their kids to learn self discipline and Martial Arts.

I trained with Freddie for a couple of years before moving out of State. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I met so many great people while I was there. We all had such a great time every time we trained. It felt like family. His school is truly one of a kind.

I used to train with Freddie privately in wrestling lessons. I have been wrestling most my life and I needed to find someone to train with that would help me further develop my wrestling skills. I believe that Freddie deserves credit for all he does with his Kung Fu Students, I may live in the UK but I enjoy the videos he makes, particularly with the kids, they all seem to enjoy this and no body gets hurt, they play all kinds of games which helps with their health both physical and mentally. Freddie always helps them and no force to do any thing they dont want to try, only encouragement.I used to teach Judo and to stop all the kids getting bored we found that games connected with any Martial Arts should be encouraged.I would ask that any parent should consider this school as a place to encourage a healthy thing to take up, this is better for them than TV or Video games.I hope to see many more new faces on future videos.

I joined Freddies school for one year while I was stationed in Chicago for the Army. I was only interested in the fitness training, so I can only provide feedback based on that part of the school. I can say that the workout sessions were challenging for me even though I am pretty fit from rotc already. They were fun classes that were in walking distance from my home at the time. He knew I was pretty advanced in my fitness but he always found a way to still challenge me.

I started training with Sifu before he opened his school location on Howard. I was training with him for 4 years. I started off with no prior experience. Through his training I got much stronger, got better endurance and improved flexibility. He taught me how to meditate and calm my mind. He shared with me teachings from Bruce Lee and the Tao. It was a very spiritual experience. He accepted me like I was family. He taught me to overcome my fears. There were times in our training where I even cried. He started me off in my Martial journey and I will forever be grateful to him for that.

I joined this school for a year after my girlfriend recommended me to. I really liked the workouts. When it was nice outside we would even workout outside by lake Michigan. The training definitely made me a lot stronger with better endurance.

Freddie was my personal trainer for about 3 months before I had to move. He was the best trainer I ever had. Very nice, attentive, knowledgeable, and skilled in what he did. I wish I could find another trainer like him again but I have not. I highly recommend him.

I trained here for 4 months before moving to California. I trained two times a week mainly focusing on self defense. I also worked at a kickboxing gym at the time and I have to say that the training I received at FMK was much more effective and practical for real life self defense. Its nothing like the average cardio kickboxing classes. The training at this school is very hands on. Ive been trying to find a good Martial Arts school here in California but have yet to find one.

To me Bruce Lee is my favorite and best martial artist of all time. You promote Bruce Lee teaching and some others martial arts stuff well in your own way. All of your challenges for the kids let them bond so well and we as your supporter love to see more of that relationship with you and your students in the future YouTube Videos!!

I have been watching Sifu Freddies videos for 8 years now. He has the best Kung Fu videos out there. I love watching his fitness challenge videos. I like how his training is not all serious but fun as well. He motivates me to train at home and to stay fit. Kung Fu is the best!

I hired Freddie to be my personal trainer for 6 months. He offered the best deal out there. Honestly there is nothing I hate more than working out. The times that I did train, I would be complaining the whole session. Other trainers I had would just give up on me, but Freddie put up with my bs. He found a way to get me to workout as long as I showed up. He is a good trainer as long as you can motivate yourself to get there.

I havent actually trained here but Im a huge fan of their YouTube channel. I love the various fun activities that are posted on a daily basis. Ive gotten to know the trainer, his family, and the other students from those videos, and they genuinely seem fun to be around. You can tell that whenever a new member joins, they immediately feel included. I really hope I get the chance to train there one day.

I have been watching Freddies YouTube videos for over 5 years. I love watching the Lion dance videos with the Chinese Lion Drums. I follow along with the workout videos the best I can but they are not easy workouts. Freddie is the best!

I am in the Army, I joined this school for 3 months while being stationed in Chicago. Sifu was very accommodating to me. Every class we did fitness training for about an hour and then we trained in the Martial Arts. He taught me some basics in hand to hand combat and the use of the Nunchucks. He also taught me a form on the wooden dummy. Every class was very exciting and I was always learning something new. The other students in the class were also very nice.

Very skillful and knowledgeable teacher with a great passion in what he does. He is skillful in teaching men, women, and children in fitness, Martial Arts, and meditation. Not only is he a good teacher but he leads by example.

I had my son training with Sifu for 2 years. He loved training there 3 times a week with the other students. All the students were very close to each other, they were like family. Sifu made the training very fun for all the kids. My son definitely improved in his fitness and self defense skills. He loved the classes but unfortunately we moved and he no longer attends, we have yet to find another Kung Fu school that my son is into but we will keep looking.

I am a Marine, I trained with Sifu for 1 year mainly in Martial Arts. We sparred a few times and his sparring methods definitely humbled me. He liked to film the sparring and thats something I didnt feel comfortable with at first but I ended up getting used to it. He really motivated me to improve my fitness in order to be better at sparring. He always challenged me in many different ways. I recommend anyone who wants to learn Martial Arts to train with Sifu.

As an internal master, I have watched a few of this guys videos, and Im almost certain he doesnt know much if any Kung Fu. Looks like a massive waste of time and money, where kids get a sense of comradery(maybe) and make a few friends, but ultimately learn nothing that will defend them against a real life threat, especially an aggressive attacker. Teach them something of substance, and post it in a video format on YouTube and Ill change this review if you do so. Until then, Ill call it how I see it.

I trained with Sifu for about 1 year. I wanted to learn some basics of self defense while staying in shape. Each class was 2 hours long and we spent about half the class on fitness and half the class practicing self defense. I can honestly say I feel much more confident with my self defense ability because of the training. Sifu does an excellent job in simplifying the techniques to be most practical and relevant for the streets.

I have been following the flexibility middle split workout videos for two years now and my splits have dramatically improved. Im very thankful for these lessons. Great job Freddie!

I have been training at this school for 10 years. Right now I am 70 years old and I have been fitness training, biking, running, and swimming for nearly all my life. Kung Fu has become my way of life.

I’ve been watching his channel for over a year now and that says a lot. His training techniques ensure that his students learn well all whilst having fun. This is why he is called Freddie’s MODERN Kung fu. Because his teaching styles are modern and unique but effective too. I am always ecstatic when he uploads. As a 16 year old secondary school student from London, I will never be able to go to his school but I wish I could.

I started training with Sifu before he even opened his school. I trained with him for 3 years privately. I was new to the Martial Arts and he taught me everything I know. He trained me to become stronger, faster, more flexible and athletic. I learned how to defend myself and he introduced me to the beauties of Eastern Philosophy. Since training with him, my career path changed. I became a personal trainer and a healer. My whole outlook in life changed. My lifestyle changed. I had completely transformed since I first started. The experience with being his student cannot be explained in words, you need to experience it yourself.

So many are bullying a man who is actually teaching the correct philosophies of martial arts. Many of these bad reviews are only those who call themselves martial artist and they bully someone. Wow, great teacher you have guys. Freddie, keep doing what youre doing! Dont listen to the haters.

Just had a private lesson with Sifu Freddie. His prices are very affordable and he is not like some traditional martial arts instructors who have a god complex. His fitness is top notch and his lessons are very personalized. His school is incredibly clean and neat. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience as a person with some martial arts background. He was very accommodating to my schedule and I really enjoy his style of teaching and his philosophy on fighting and fitness.

I am a Marine with experience in boxing, I trained with Sifu for a year while I lived in Chicago. We had the opportunity to spar a few times and I also got the chance to spar with other students. The sparring can get pretty intense. His sparring methods opened up my eyes to so many things. Gung Fu sparring is very different than boxing. Its a whole other level of training that involves the whole body, I have sparred with many people in my life, but nobody challenged me the way Sifu did, I have gained a lot of respect for Kung Fu.

One of this most positive and happy people around. Always there for the children and allows them something to do. Helps kids in the community. The world needs more people like him. Would really recommend!

I’m not leaving a review of the facility or about personally being their...but I am leaving one about how the place is on the YouTube videos (Freddie’s Modern Kung Fu) now let’s get started. From watching his videos for about 6Months now I have enjoyed learning many Kung fu moves that have worked on others. (I fight with my brother very often) I know I said I am not reviewing the facility but I do just want to say it is a very safe facility and has many classic Kung fu tools. Overall it seems like a very nice place for anyone of all ages to train.

Dont get fooled, only has a high rating because he told people to rate 5. This place has died down and is more like a playground

I really miss training with Sifu, he is the best Sifu in the world. Very positive, compassionate, and loving. He was not just my Sifu but he was my spiritual guide. We shared many great moments together, he is the greatest.

Freddie Lee does not teach his students how to defend themselves or someone.Do you teach your kids how to throw people down? Do you teach your kids types of falls so they dont damage their head when they fall? You say youre going to fight people but you never because you probably dont know how to fight. Kung Fu schools arent always about sparring but defending yourself. If you do know how to fight then why do you slap box? Where did you learn your Kung Fu? Just like the person below me said, you look like youre running a summer camp more than a kung fu school. You havent responded to him yet because you know youre a fraudOne person gave a one star review and said in their review that they broke their nose there.Freddie can NOT fight, look at videos of him fighting. He slaps instead of punching. When people throw him down he gets mad and slaps them like a crazy little girl.

My friends use to take king fu at Freddies and so I joined. I didnt learn much of anything because the whole class was who can jump over this or which can break the board. He also goes nuts when his students catch him during sparring and he hits them full strength
