Amazing school, very prepared teachers, friendly and warm atmosphere, the clinic is connected to the school for your mandatory hours of training hands on. The preparation for the final state exams for your license its impeccable (I dont know any of my class mates that failed the state exams). Possibility to follow 2 different class track: the evening class and the fast track in the morning if you want to get licensed in less than a year. Tuition is affordable and definitely worth it.

After researching the massage therapy school options in the Chicagoland area, I decided this was the one for me. And I was not disappointed!! Great leadership and instructors within a welcoming and supportive environment. Academically powerful and hands-on classes that reinforce the material. The school is connected to a professional massage studio where student clinic is completed. I highly recommend New School for Massage.

I graduated from the New School for Massage in February and passed the IL state licensing exam in March. I had a really great experience here and would highly recommend it.The entire staff were knowledgeable and created a welcoming & engaging learning environment. It is obvious that they really care about the students and are passionate about massage & bodywork. I truly enjoyed going to class and found the workload manageable. I learned a lot from the teachers as well as the other students and really appreciate the active community of bodywork professionals & fellow alumni. Thanks NSM!

I recently graduated from this school. My experience here was great. The admin team really works with your schedule and are very helpful. The instructors are knowledgeable, entertaining, and encourage you to take the information you already have along with what you learn and make it your own. Everybody there seems to genuinely enjoy their job and enjoy helping people. Great atmosphere all around. Definitely worth a look if you are getting into the massage/bodywork field.

I had a great experience at New School for Massage. Good environment, affordable tuition and the value was well worth the price. Capable instructors, amazing hands on clinic opportunity to grow and develop skills. Nice environment and convenient location. As an foreign student, I felt very comfortable with the way the classes were run. I took the 7 months fast track and time flew. Less than one year later, I finished the school and got my license. The instructors are very patient and comprehensive. Great material and preparation for MBLEx. I passed the MBLEx on the first try and I’m very thankful for learning at this school.

I had a phenomenal experience as a student at the New School for Massage. This is the only massage school that offers such extensive education and provides individual attention to every student. Years later, when recruiting massage therapists to work with me, I welcome a NSM graduate with open arms. Their knowledge and skillset are far superior to an alumni from another school.

If you want to study massage therapy, this is the place! Excellent instructors, great facilities, fantastic clinical experience. A nurturing, fun, safe place where you feel like a cared-for individual. Definitely not a degree mill. Class sizes are small, and the curriculum is interesting, relevant, and prepares you very well for the licensing exam. The tuition is a great deal, too! Im so glad I studied at the New School. I dont think there is a higher quality massage therapy school out there.

I havent been in a while yet Ive been going since 2011 always a great experience. I recently attempted to schedule myself and my friend, her first time, we scheduled that evening via the site, received emails stating it ONLY a request to be informed an hour before the service that they were cxld. Mine started my CC infor was not updated although I was prompted to update when I set the apt and hers was simply cxld. They have been in business too long to have a system that does not updated in real time so appts can be confirmed using the site that is available.

I highly recommend this school if you are looking for a career in massage therapy. The fact that they did not inundate me with sales calls the moment I expressed interest about their establishment was a huge plus! The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and highly experienced in all aspects of massage therapy. I didn’t have one teacher that wasn’t passionate about sharing their knowledge, technique and unique skills to help further my education. I graduated well prepared and have enjoyed a rewarding career ever since!

I just completed the 11 month, part-time tract for massage therapy licensing at New School of Massage. What an amazing learning experience! Everybody gets the encouragement and feedback they need within the diverse and small classes (with only 2-12 students in each class)! Within this program, I had extensive training in both Eastern & Western massage modalities, as well as tons of technical resources for massage within the clinical setting. I feel confident working around clients individual conditions, and delving into complicated questions of anatomy of kinesiology relating to client posture and movement habits. Ive already gotten my license in just under a year from when I started. the part-time massage school tract. Now, as a professional therapist, I practice both Swedish and Thai massage. I had a job offer before I even finished school. What a lovely, fun, knowledgeable, and welcoming community of therapists and educators the New School of Massage has, as well! It has been an honor and a pleasure.

By far one of the best schools I have attended in Chicago not only based off of the fact that the owner and instructors are skilled and passionate about their craft, but the environment itself is welcoming and allows for connections to be built. I enjoyed my experience at The New School for Massage. Most of the coursework is far beyond what other schools are teaching and providing within the field of Massage Therapy/bodywork and that alone is incomparable!

In my opinion a great massage school. Instructors were experienced, available and very willing to help students. Price was lower than most schools I researched and instruction equal if not better. The school had a broader range and more time dedicated to introducing modalities usually only touched upon at other schools such as Thai and Shiatsu. At the same time I left feeling confident and prepared in core modalities such as swedish, deep tissue, etc.

I have come here a couple of times now. The students are really hard working and make sure you are happy with the results. I usually give them direction during the massage itself and they appreciate it.some of the rooms are meant for multiple people but I dont really have a problem with that. also, now that they have separate rooms, it is much more quiet and comfortable. It is also super clean, they change the sheets each time and the massage bed is warm so you dont feel uncomfortable without clothes on.

Im genuinely grateful to staff and fellow students at The New School for making my massage therapy training such a phenomenal experience. I could compose an in-depth evaluation of the training program there, but I think the schools fundamental strong points say it all: affordable tuition, choice of fast-track or extended-track programs, small class sizes, well-rounded program content, easily accessible River North location, and, most importantly, experienced supportive instructors who are exceptional teachers and true advocates of massage therapy and its benefits.I highly recommend The New School to anyone considering training as a massage therapist.

When looking for a massage program this school was recommended to me by other experienced massage therapists. I attended one of the monthly information sessions and was able to begin the program the following month. I had a great experience, completed the fast track program in under 8 months and was licensed soon after. My instructors were passionate, knowledgeable and incredibly welcoming. Now I have happily been working as an LMT for over 5 years in both massage practices and chiropractic offices.

I took the 11 month course which was perfect so I could work full-time and still be able to keep up with my schooling and studies.I did shop schools around before choosing NSMBH. My 11 months at New School brought me so far ahead of the game on my anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology, I sometimes impress myself! In addition to learning effective bodywork techniques and styles ranging from Swedish to Sports, Myofascial to Cranio-Sacral, Trigger Point to Thai, which was our core curriculum, we learned about research, ethics, and business. Then we put all of our sciences together to tackle our last hands-on class dealing with various Conditions such as thoracic outlet syndrome and piriformis syndrome - and not a day too soon, as we were finishing up our now 100 hours of Clinic, giving student massages to the public, which was a phenomenal experience with real clients, the real deal! The teachers were all top-notch - not only educated and experienced in their field, but also great teachers and genuinely likable people, a direct reflection of the Schools Director, Emmanuel Bistas. New School is where you want to go if you are looking for personalized attention with smaller classes. As a bonus, I made some great friends whom I am certain will be in my life for many years to come!

I had an AWFUL experience with these people. If I could go ZERO, I would. EVERY TIME I ever talked to the owner, its another baloney story.I went down there THREE times, twice with a good check in hand, and got NOTHING but two faced bull. The OWNER tells me they pat the service fee on the credit card, which is 2.75%, of 9,575, that would be $263.31 IF you complete the program past half way mark. Thats NOT what is in THEIR OWN contract! THAT says, its 263 31, 2.75% of the transaction amount, and THAT is on you. Oh, and its NOT REFUNDABLE. Even paying upfront, its STILL $184.80! My lawyer basically had a fit reading this (because he FAILED to even mention 300.00 Id have to pay), and her concern was nothing this guy says is the same story twice. Im being pushed into doing it b/c of end of the month. I run down, checkbook in hand, get the paper to read it all, let lawyer read it, too. I SAY, SPECIFICALLY, I can complete it once I read it all, yes, a few days? Youll take my check, yes? (I hold up and gesticulatr holding checkbook a few times as Im talking, after which he lies and says he never saw the black checkbook, staring right at me, too...). He says YES. I say, what if youre not here? Give it to the person at desk and they will give you a reciept. Ok, fine. Lawyer DOESNT like his saying we pay for it unless you dont finish, and contract says I PAY $263.00 of full fare. Because you can say whatever you want, ALL that matters is the contract. I trust the lawyer. I have keys to her house. She trusts me. Run down there a THIRD TIME, checkbook in hand, AGAIN, because Im not going to pay out 2 or $300.00 if i dont have to. He DOES NOT tell me when I leave (it was after bank hours by then either way) its only bankers check or CC. And again, I was SPECIFICALLY TOLD my investment bank check was fine. Youd have 2 weeks if it WERE NSF, and of course its a good check. I swear on my mothers grave, I get there and the girl says Bank check or CC only. But owner said it was ok yesterday. Calls him. I am upset at being jerked around a few times by now. I SAY dont hang up. She heard me. She hangs up, makes me call him.back. I call him, VERY angry and he says to my asking him.about the check the day before (which he said was fine, remember) and emailing that I was coming down to GIVE. HIM. $6,720 (?!) That was yesterday. CC or bankers check. My own lawyer said, Dont give him.any money. Everything he said he contradicted himself. THEN he had the nerve to say I was upset for nothing and basically didnt fit in his school. To be rightfully mad at being jerked around and not told the full truth to?? Theyre cheapest for a reason. City college should be WAY better education and VERY cheap. And no runaround from my experience.

Sometimes you get more than what you pay for; the New School for Massage is a great value. I learned so much when I was there, all of which has carried over to my professional career. I had great instructors who were very knowledgable in their subject. With so many options available to licensed massage therapists, there is no way to prepare for every eventuality; however, they did a great job with a broad spectrum of topics that sets the student for success. If I dont have the answer to a specific problem I know where to look and/or who to ask. Of course, you will get out of it what you out into it. Apply yourself now and you will succeed in the future. I highly recommend this school to any student looking for their first steps towards licensure.
