If you ever desire to attend the best clinical massage therapy school, then come to the Soma Institute. The staff, especially the teachers, treat their students like family. They dont single anyone out. They truly make sure each and every student, (who is willing to put the effort) builds confidence, and professionalism, and you will leave with massage techniques you didnt think existed. I never thought of massage as a true art until I attended because they taught us how important and useful it is to know everything about the body, not just on the outside but within, in massage, (muscles, bones, kinesiology etc etc) You learn a lot, but they break it down beautifully, and make it all so easy to understand for everyone. The Soma Institute of clinical massage therapy is very passionate, thoughtful, and unique about what they teach in this very field. I would recommend this school as the number one place to go for clinical massage therapy.

A large portion of their students are not interviewed before enrollment to guarantee they have manners, you will find them talking about inappropriate topics in a group chat made for communicating as students only.Disgusting!

We see a person like Kendra Livengood whos supposedly a student that just gave a good review about Soma Institute recently, and whos probably one of the schools staff {as we can tell from her extremely Positive review}, trying to cover up how this institute is a disaster and a disgrace to the profession of Massage Therapy.Do yourself a favor if you are a passionate and a dedicated Massage Therapy student, and stay away from Soma Institute.

This “institute” ruined my future and shattered my dream, now I am uneducated, unemployed, and drowning in debt.If you are a passionate Massage Therapy student, then do not join this place.

Im a current student of the soma institute and I can honestly say its a great school and i love that its not a big campus so you can really get the hands on learning thats needed! The instructors are great and so nice and they really help you understand what youll be doing and the learning material is explained in detail. Love it!!

Just had a massage by one of your Alumni.Very gifted. And speaks proudly of his school.Completely blown away by his understanding of insertion points trigger points and knowledge of what a pre hip replacement client needs to feel better. He didn’t tell me any of this. I COULD TELL! BECAUSE OF MY NURSING BACKGROUND.If he ever changes his place of employment I’m either changing with him, or seeking out Soma grads.THANK YOU!!!

Love the school and I keep learning more everyday. The school does an excellent job of keeping us clean healthy and sterile as well in the trying times.

Full disclosure: I work here. I have for six years. But I also attended Soma, and it was one of the best decisions Ive ever made. The teachers I had were all wonderful (some of who are now my colleagues) and the courses were challenging yet ultimately fulfilling. Obviously I very much enjoyed my experience here as a student. Recently I attended our Health and Wellness Coaching program, which I enjoyed a great deal, too. If you live around Chicago and youre looking for a rewarding career as a Clinical Massage Therapist, then Somas the school for you.

I am currently a student at the Soma Institute. The instructors are Amazing. They want to not only see you succeed but they push you to go beyond what you believe to be your best! They will encourage you when you think that its too hard to go on but Hold on to that encouragement, Do your best and Never Give Up on Your Dream on Your Purpose. My time here at Soma is almost half way through but the tools Ill leave with will last a life time. I believe That.

I loved how I could go at my own pace for the modules in the online Yoga Assists and Conscious Hands-On Adjustments course. I was able to re-watch several of them and practice using the videos along with peers and other students for practicing my hands-on assists. The fact that I can always have access to these videos for future reference made it very appealing to me. The extra anatomy segments were also especially useful. I appreciated the very basic foundation and alignment adjustments in Section 1 then moving up and building each section to more advanced. I was able to dig even deeper into common misalignment issues that not only am I doing but also my peers. I have become so much more aware of tiny micro-movements that can change someone’s alignment significantly. I really appreciated all the different body types used and I am able to integrate a lot of the verbal cuing used in the videos. So many yoga studios now really want to hire teachers that are more biomechanically sound and these videos gave me that boost of confidence for when I’m approaching studios to work with them. My absolute favorite segment was Section 3 of the video modules, because this section really took my understanding to the next level. 100% recommending this to others (I’ve been recommending the 200 YTT as well). – Christina Hennelly

Everything starting from enrollment was excellent. They give you an individualized tour of the program. The classses are challenging but each course gives you the urge to want to learn more. They work with any learning comprehension and have free tutoring. A lot of future employers come to the campus and present their businesses and companies for your intrest in employment upon graduation. Given actual experience for clinical massage therapy education The Soma Institute provides high standards that a lot of high ranked employers expect. Your literally in good hands.

If you want to be the best, you have to learn from and be surrounded by the best! Soma is literally the best! Im not just saying that because Im an alumni, but as a kinesiology undergrad, and Physical therapy doctorate, I learned some of the same things at Soma as I did at UIC. Why just be a massage therapist, when you can be a Clinical Massage Therapist?
