We feel so lucky to have found UVMS for our two children. The school is wonderful. The environment and teachers have been incredible. Both our children love the school, the teachers, the director, and all their friends made. The parent community is very special, and diverse as well. We just love this place, believe it to be very special and are thankful for being able to have both our children spend their pre-kindergarten years here. They have grown so much, and learned so much.

My grandson entered this day care @ 6 months old a healthy weight of 19#.He began to loose weight when he should have continued to gain ,at his 9 month checkup he was down to 18.2# and the pediatrician thought he was ill. I said no they are not adequately feeding him at the day care. I began to care for him and he gained 1.5# in 3 weeks.

As a first time mom, sending your child away to school can be a daunting task let alone picking a good school. I had so many questions and reservations but all of that was immediately put to ease when I enrolled my daughter at UVMS. Kiran, the Director made it a point to address every question and trust me I had a running list. The staff was friendly, accredited, knowledgeable, diverse, and not afraid to get down and dirty with the kids. Within days I began to notice my daughter acquiring new skills and vocabulary and showcasing her newfound independence. When she moved up to the Primary Program, the list of achievements were astounding. Not only did she get one on one lessons from the teacher but the leadership the older children displayed was contagious and grounds for a confidence boost. And it wasnt before long that my daughter took on that role with the kids younger than her. She was using glass utensils, sweeping and mopping, recognizing letters, blending sounds, mouthing off planets and all sorts of facts. I attribute this not only to the Montessori philosophy but also to the unique way UVMS carries out their day to day teachings. Unfortunately, after spending two enriching years at UVMS, we decided to make our way to the Suburbs and I have yet to find a school that matches what this school offers. Im telling you, the bar is set high.

During our preschool research I had so much anxiety. Where should he go? What philosophy is right? Montessori? Waldorf? What is important in a school? Will he nap? Eat? Play? Our anxiety completely went away when we met Kiran and Kashif from University Village Montessori. My husband and I went to an sort of Q&A about the school before they were even open. I learned more about the Montessori philosophy, how its child led, but still focused and how they do use creativity through painting, drawing, and projects. I also found out that Kiran decided to go to school to go through the entire Montessori Education trail- so she understood how to build the perfect Montessori school. She did this with the intentions of being the director. I loved that!I feel so lucky that we stumbled upon UVMS before they even opened their doors in 2013. My son was one of the first students there and we have seen the school grow, and fill to capacity in some classes. I appreciate so many things about this school. 1. I know hes safe. They have a locked door policy and you cant get in unless you are buzzed in. 2. The teachers are well educated, and understand the Montessori way. My sons teacher, Ms Laura has studied Montessori all over the world and incorporates interesting life skills such as taking care of plants, gardening, and yoga in their daily routine. 3. They have parent sessions to educate parents on how to lead a more Montessori way of life at home and to make sure we understand what our children are doing in class, and why. 4. They go outside EVERY SINGLE DAY (Unless, obviously, its super, super cold, or storming.) 5. They cater an organic lunch thats INCLUDED in tuition. 6. The school is super clean and always kept up. 7. You can go and observe your child if you are curious. They have two way windows so your child cant see you. I seriously could go on and on and on.I started my son at 3 and decided to start my daughter at 18 months. I knew she would flourish and develop even more away from an all day nanny and in a place where she could learn, socialize, and gain confidence. And, she has. Day 3 she put on her own shoes. The development I have seen with my children have been truly amazing. They are Independent. Accountable. Empathetic. and Nurturing. All values of the Montessori way.If you are curious or are looking for somewhere where your children would be safe, educated, and will learn to put away their own plate after eating- this may be the place for you.Im just one happy mom, lucky to have found such an amazing school. :)
