I am currently enrolled in the MRI Program at Midwestern Career College, and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. It is very easy to communicate with teachers and the staff at MCC. This school gives you so many resources that help you become successful in your program. The staff and teachers show that that they want to help the students before, during, and after their programs! Again, I have to say Midwestern Career College is amazing and should definitely be added to your list.

I’m a student in MRI Program at MCC college now, and I love everything about this school. Teachers are very knowledgeable and most of them are working in the MRI field, they are willing to share their experience and knowledge. This is 18 months very intense program but since it is PM hybrid Program I can manage my work and school schedule. I’m about to start my externship at the hospital after a year of education, and I’m super excited.

I had a very positive experience at this school. I thought my teachers were incredibly knowledgable and always open to help students. I was able to quickly learn how to be an MRI tech with hands on learning and active lectures that always kept me interested. I was even able to do my clinicals at RUSH hospital which definitely helped me learn more and let me apply what my teachers already taught me. I would highly recommend this school as it definitely prepared me for a new career as an MRI tech.

I applied for Medical Assisting program – the process was very straightforward from submitting the documents to applying for financial aid. I wanted to apply for surgical technology program first, but then I wasn’t sure if I could handle the sight of blood since I am completely new to the field, admissions recommended me to try the medical assisting program, it’s a good start to see if medical career is a good fit for you and you earn few certifications while still at school, so I thought it was worth a shot.

I’m currently a student enrolled in the EKG program and I’ve really appreciated the take on online education. We have an in person class once a week that really brings the class together and elaborates on key points. The facilities are really nice, the class I’m in is in their downtown building, and I have an outstanding opportunity to learn about my field. The class sizes are not big so there’s always opportunities to ask questions and clarify for my own sake. The teachers are very helpful and are more than willing to go the extra mile for their students which is amazing because you just won’t always get that at a bigger school. All in all I’ve really enjoyed my time at at Midwest career college and will be recommending this course of study for any of my friends or family looking to get an education in any of the many fields that MCC has to offer!!

Strong commitment to student success at all levels. Admissions takes time to explain the programs and help smooth enrollment. Financial Aid works to help you apply for the aid, scholarships, etc. you are eligible for. Teachers are ready to help you learn through your entire program, from start to graduation and your new career. Externship team works hard to put you in the proper placement where youll succeed. Everyone very strong, friendly, committed. I have not seen this at other schools so kudos to MCC!

I actually was a student at this school (used to have a different name) for MRI 10+ years ago. The school allowed me to sit for both the ARRT and ARMRIT upon completion. Since graduation I have worked at several hospitals and clinical sites while continuing to teach my trade at MCC. I have since become the Program Director for both MRI and X-Ray. MCC allows me the opportunity to see students new to the medical field become medical professionals year after year. My biggest reward working at this school is when current students start clinical at a facility or hospital and a previous student of mine is their preceptor.

I graduated from the MRI program at Midwestern Career College last December (2020). There were many exceptional moments in my education at MCC, with a high point having been my clinical externship placement at the Tower at Rush Hospital in Chicago. The training and experiences gained in that MRI suite along with my MCC education have helped me achieve ARRT and ARMRIT board certification at this early point in my MRI career! This is a great environment in which to prepare for your career.

If I could give this program a zero star I would. I was extremely motivated the first half of the course Dr.Khan was a great teacher and easy to understand, if someone had an issue understanding he would do his best to explain it. Now when the second half of the course arrived I found myself as well extremely motivated but little by little I started loosing it, we got a different professor who is always getting interrupted during class by one specific teacher Ms.Garza which always interrupts our lecture, not only is that my issue but the fact that when we register they do not tell us that we have to pay for our exams aside from paying an $11,800.00 tuition which turns out that some of my classmates are having a difficult time and have even decided to withdraw because they are raising their tuition when we signed for a set amount it is PATHETIC and UNFAIR! I could have gone to a much better school for half of the amount this course cost me here. I definitely do not recommend this school whatsoever, save yourself time and money. My class started with about 25 students we are currently about 8 on a GOOD day.

I came to the USA, specifically Chicago. I never thought that I was going to enroll in a college, but I did and I could not be any happier. I didn’t know how to apply for an F-1Visa as an international student and they helped me with that information. Midwestern Career College has been the best decision I could have ever made, even though, there are many other colleges who offer the same program. This college is different. All the staff and English instructors are professional, as well as the international staff. I applied for an ESL program and I’m still studying and my English is not the same as it was months ago. Believe it or not, but I’m still working on it. Some students, just like me, have doubts if they should or should not go to school, or even which one. I highly recommend MCC. Ok as a student I have witnessed several things which I have really disliked. For starters during a weekend a few students and I were in the hall passing by and we over heard a conversation taking place between Vera and another staff member from career services philys. Both were speaking horrible about a coworker by the name of Rafael. how both were looking for new jobs and how the CEO of the company is cheap with the staff and steals money from the students. They also mentioned how much the school is disgusting and disorganize . Vera happened to mention how a coworker by the name of Olga told her she dresses like a pumpkin and that she wasnt allowed to wear that dress anymore. She and philys were making fun of another coworker by the name of Judy. It was a horrible feeling for us students to hear such disgusting things from two school personnel. Its not our first negative Encounter with both members of this place. When a student has asked for help from Vera she has been extremely rude we cant believe how this person is still at this school. Philys has made extremely rude comments to several students who have asked her for help when it comes to work her answer has been disgusting. She told some of them that how they will not be successful will not be able to have a job due to the background of where they came from she had used the N word on several students who are black and yet shes black her self. The school is losing students due to horrible behavior from staff members and lack of care from the actual school administrators. We cant wait for us to finish and never think of this place again. We will never recommend this school to anyone else

Midwestern Career College is a poorly ran school that lacks in professionalism, and does not offer a good environment to educate students for the future. In the 1st term of the DMS (Diagnostic Medical Sonography) program, certain classes change teachers weeks into the term. The replacement teacher did nothing more than read power points for the duration of the term, and didnt really seem passionate to teach. Students didnt feel like they were learning anything, and they definitely wasnt a drive to pursue a career from the lack of effort in teaching students a new set of skills. There were some students who caused interruptions and disrespected the teachers, while others are were there to learn. Instead of removing the students right away, the teachers didnt do anything and this created an environment with nothing but distractions. When the students were finally removed, there was this rebellion between students and teachers that took away from the whole purpose of being in school. Faculty members started calling and emailing for statements about other student behavior, and it felt more like a reality show than a college. In the 2nd term, a class was removed from the schedule with no prior notification or explanation. The only I truly learned was that this college is great for wasting your time, and pushing to start looking elsewhere for a better education. I would not recommend this college to anyone, and I hope those enrolled the best because you invest time and effort for an education that makes all the sacrifices you have to make worthwhile.

Graduated August 2017 from the surgical tech program. This was a great transition for someone like me that was looking to expand my career goals! I currently work in the sterile area for surgery in hospitals as a contractor in SPD in sterilization, assembly and decontamination of surgical instruments for all surgical procedures. While in the surgical technologist program my agency has given me a significant monetary raise, and because of my experience I have great references with managers at every hospital Ive work at.MCC provides internships at prestigious teaching hospitals, starting the second day that I assisted in surgery I was working alone with little to no help. The instructors are surgical nurses, doctors, and surgical techs that have 20 plus years of experience! So glad I didnt have to wait on a rediculous waiting list, and then wait a year to start the program... Some surgical tech programs in illinois are doing this to students and its completely pointless to wait for so long just to have the same starting pay and certification as everyone else at the very end.NCCT and AST are 2 diffrent companies for certification in surgical tech. Both the same outcome, and job as a surgical tech. Both certifications start at the same pay... lolI was able to complete this accelerated program in one year! It was very difficult to work and complete this program but I had determination and larger goals ahead.Im now in the process of submitting my transcripts to a nursing program in illinois.Im convinced that Im unstoppable.I want to thank-Program Coordinator: Mrs.Mateo,Program Director: Dr. MeerInstrctor: Surgical Nurse JessicaInstructor: Robyn CSTand staff John & Naomi for all of your kindness.
