I highly recommend Montessori American School! It is such a wonderful school! The head of the school, Ms. Yoli, and all the teachers are very friendly and great with the kids. They are great at communicating to the parents about updates on COVID-19 and the school’s policies, events happening at the school, lessons planned for the month, etc. Their curriculum includes enrichment classes such as art, yoga, history, science, etc.My kids love going to MAS and they always look forward to seeing their teachers and their friends. When I ask them what they did at school they are so eager to tell me. Also, the teachers were great at sending me pictures of my kids when they first started going to MAS. It gave me a piece of mind knowing that my kids were being taken care of and that they were having fun and learning. So if you’re looking for a school for your kids 2yrs-6yrs old I suggest you call Ms. Yoli and schedule a tour of the school. They even offer a summer program!!!Thank you MAS for all that you do for our kids!

Thanks to MAS for helping my daughter develop an outstanding foundation with her learning skills. She is now in Grade 1. Everyday she brings home her school work with marked “A” on it. School assessment says she is “above average” in Reading and Math. We are very very proud parents! Thank you Ms. Alexiss and Ms. Ana Vi and to the other teachers at MAS for your dedication, patience and love extended to my daughter. She missed you all so much!

This is such an amazing school. Our daughter started there at 2 1/2 years old and we had tried to enroll her in other Montessori schools, but she would just cry when we left her. However, at Montessori American, she had no trouble with separation anxiety. Their calm and accepting environment, and their excellent drop off/pick up method really makes children happy to go to school and be away from mommy and daddy. We also quickly noticed that our daughter became much more verbal and outgoing. She started doing more arts and crafts at home and was much more coordinated. She would also be very happy every morning to get in the car and go to school. Very different from our previous experiences. The teachers are also excellent, friendly and communicative. We would text with them to get little progress reports and would even get pictures and video. They also really helped us with potty training. When we enrolled our daughter, the school had been sold and the principal was leaving. However, the quality of the school remained just as high and they even started doing more after school activities to include the parents.Overall, this is an excellent school and we thank them so much for being such a crucial role in the development of our daughter. Thank you!

My daughter attended the Montessori American School for three years. She enjoyed attending school at MAS and was very sad to leave after she graduated from kindergarten there. She is now in the first grade and was very well prepared and advanced in math and reading when she entered. She loved her MAS teachers and enjoyed coming to school everyday. The kids are also enriched with instruction in art, music, yoga, and advanced Spanish. My son now currently attends MAS and is enjoying it as well. The teachers at MAS truly care about fostering the growth and development of an independent child. Thank you to the wonderful teachers and staff at MAS!

I highly recommend Montessori American School! All of the teachers are so kind to each child, truly encouraging each to their strengths. The school is true to the Montessori practice and is not a blend, as are other schools that I have observed. Both of my children have thrived under the direction of teachers who have taught here at Montessori American School for MANY years. My children LOVE to attend and learn. I am confident that this school has set a solid foundation for their learning path and that they have developed a true love for learning. The school offers yoga and art and music, all of which my children love participating in and have gained an appreciation for each. I am confident we made the BEST choice for our children at Montessori American School.

Our daughter goes to Montessori American School and we are so happy with the experience she is having there. All the staff and teachers are so attentive to the needs of the students and helped my daughter settle in at her own pace and in her own way. She absolutely loves school and I have seen such positive changes in her independence and confidence since she started. You can tell the staff are so passionate and really care for the kids and allow them to learn and grow at their own pace. Between the nurturing environment and the high quality curriculum we could not be happier with our choice!

We absolutely love this school. Our daughter has been going for a year now and has never once wanted to not go to school. The teachers, programs, and facility are wonderful. Our friends that have children that are close to the same age as our daughter always comment on how far along she is in her language, counting, and social skills. I am amazed everyday of the things she learns and wants to learn more about. Thank you Montessori American School!!

Unequivocally, my wife and I made the correct choice when we selected the Montessori American School. The way his teachers have helped our son develop his individuality, while at the same time emphasizing self-discipline and respect towards others, has truly been a heartening experience. It’s funny sometimes, that as a parent, you learn just as much from your kid as they do from you.We will miss you…

My daughter has truly blossomed over the past two years academically and socially. She is always eager to go to school and has a wonderful relationship with her teachers. The director and teachers make themselves very accessible and very supportive. I will be sad when my daughter transitions out but look foward to my son being part of this school very soon!

Its wonderful to see so many pleased families. Im glad your children had amazing experiences at this Montessori school. Unfortunately my grandson did not have such a great experience. He attended for about a year. My grandson is 4. He was getting physically shoved and pushed around by a 6 year boy and nobody noticed it. My grandson reenacted what the 6 year old was doing; it was a choke hold, while my grandson was facing down on the ground. This happened several times. All the school staff denied any knowledge of this. Until my grandson was absent 2 weeks in a row; he would cry when it came time to go to school. Then they called my son and admitted to having knowledge of this. They tried to convince my son to bring my grandson back to the school. I had a serious talk with my son and convinced him not to send my grandson back because the trust was broken. If they had acknowledge from the beginning and said, we will handle the situation, I can totally understand that. They denied knowing anything; with the teacher/student ratio, it was impossible that they did not notice this kind of activity happening. They realized they were losing a client and it was the money they cared about, not my grandson. Besides these so called teachers do NOT have the education in Child Development. On another note, it really bothered me when I picked up my grandson from school there; at times his face was really dirty around his mouth, from lunch; I found it hard to believe that between so many teachers, nobody cared to get a wipe and clean my grandsons face. Not acceptable. (May-June 2015)

My son Daniel went to Montessori American School for two years and he loved everything about it. Miss Yoli is an incredible teacher. Daniel came out of the school with excellent learning skills particularly in math and reading, as well as in geography. I especially admire Miss Norma, the art teacher, she instilled in my son a huge love for her art class, he would wake up excited about having art and come home with beautiful drawings. I know my son misses his school, his friends and his teachers.

This is the BEST Montessori! Ive had my two children both attend MAS and I have to say it was the best decision I could make for them. My eldest child finished two years of instruction and left with confidence, leadership, and knowledge. I have to admit once they leave MAS they are ahead of their class. My second child will be graduating this June. The director and teachers have helped my daughter significantly gain confidence and self independence. I am confident that she will enter 1st grade with a great head start. The wonderful programs here at MAS also help to enrich our Kindergarten experience. She is taking advanced spanish, music, art history and yoga. The loving environment, the organization, and the teacher instruction are what I believe to be the key success of The Montessori American School.

My son started attending Montessori two months ago. He loves his teachers and has improved on his social skills enormously, he is curteous and respectful and more assertive. He used to be shy around adults and other children, but not anymore. I am so happy to see the positive changes he has exhibited from his short time of enrollment. Not to mention his knowledge on all the continents, oceans and active interest in addition and a multitude of shapes. He is only four and is so intelligent! I know he will continue to advance in his education and etiquette while attending this school. :)

We are proud parents of a Montessori American School current student and a graduate. Our family could not be happier with the level of education provided by the extraordinary caring staff at MAS. MAS provides a warm safe environment for children to thrive through hands-on activities that encourage engaging conversation and critical thinking. Comparing MAS graduates in my daughters new Kindergarten class with other students, it is evident that MAS kids are given a colossal head start with advantages in preparedness, social skills, and self-control over their non-Montessori peers. We are proud to be part of MASs commitment to success and can say with the deepest sincerity, that we endorse Montessori American School for your childs personal growth.

Both of our children are enrolled at Montessori America School. Our 5-year-old daughter will be a Kindergarten graduate this year; she is so proud! Over the past three years, we have watched her blossom at this school. The academics are solid! Our Kindergartener can perform addition and subtraction and is doing multiplication and just learned the four times tables. She is also reading! More importantly, she is motivated and enjoys learning. This school cultivates the love of learning in children which is priceless. My 3-year-old loves to sit and look through books at home. She also loves maps. She just promoted to a big girl class and has become so much more confident. Just this weekend she started sounding out and reading words on signs. We are blessed to have found this school! I am a big believer in the Montessori method to cultivate a childs confidence with a sense of control over their environment, independent thinking and motivation and learning at their own pace. What is truly special about this school is the staff at Montessori American, and how much they care about their students. The entire staff is kind and loving, and genuinely cares about these children. This school is a little gem, and Im so glad I found it! If you want to give your child the life-long gift of the love of learning, then enroll them at this school. My girls love it there!

The short review:This is a 10-star school. Extremely personal attention to your kid, including but not limited developmental, emotional and academic needs. PRICEY, but you exactly get what you pay for as great stuff does not come cheap or free in a commercial environment. The long review:I am from India and Wife is from Russia. Having recently moved to Bonita, San Diego, CA from India and Russia due to my son’s allergy (Atopic Dermatitis) we needed a school to address his education in USA.My son was 4.5 years in MAY 2014. We had the move because his agitation from the allergy (constantly asking to be scratched, allergic cough, etc.) was not letting my then PREGNANT wife get a restful sleep which is crucial for fetal development.EDITH, the owner of the school took in our son only after having him attend one day of school (approximately 3-4 hours) with Mrs. YOLIE. That time they could assess him and decided to enroll him and work with him. He is as such very shy and does not open up to new people very fast. They also deeply understood our son’s emotional needs since he had had changed from India to Russia to NY to CA and was expecting a competing sibling. The initial approach/foundation is what makes the difference and that they did fantastically. Edith is a very involved owner/administrator and a teacher herself. She has I think over 40 years of experience.First month he was in the school 3 hours (9am-12pm) and then full hours (9am-3pm) and then used to practically beg us to collect him late (9am-5pm). We did incur the charges/expenses for the extra time spend in the school but it was an investment that has helped him be a very confident person.Every morning he nearly begged to go to school, ask to be left late (sometimes the first one to be left and last one to be picked up). Everyone knew and addressed him by name. He was the tallest in school so that helped him standing out too. They have a playground on the premises. All the time in that school was a 100% worth it. It is pricey but then you only have a limited time to put in the correct foundation. This school is well equipped with all the Montessori materials, the most patient teachers and since they are small, every kid is known by name. They also discussed the kids needs so that nearly every teacher knew the kid’s needs. That was exceptional.ALL IN ALL, this school gave my kid a foundation that is still in place today (date of this review APR 29, 2016) and for that I and my wife are so very thankful, especially to Edith, Yolie, Virna and Alexa.

My son graduates Kindergarten this June & even though he has only attended Montessori American School one year it has been an amazing year.We chose Montessori American School to ensure he had a great foundation before attending public school.Everyday we find out something new he has learned. At dinner one night he said the pledge of allegiance. Another night he sang oh once I had pumpkin. He has learned about all the holidays through the year. At a baseball game he sang the national anthem. On Fridays he does yoga, sun salutations and even leads the class. He has learned some Spanish by singing Buenos Dias. He knows art history & has become an artist, drawing The Great Wave, The Starry Night, and The Mona Lisa (just to name a few). Music class has allowed him to try different musical instruments. He has learned about the clock and how to tell time. He can write his first & last name and numbers past 100. He has been given homework and will do it on his own. He is very independent. He is eager to help with chores, cooking and cleaning. He has become more creative and adventurous.Thank you to all the staff for everything & a special thanks to: Edith, Melissa, Vanessa & Alexiss!!Nic & Karen Magallanes

Our daughter just completed her first year at the Montessori American School and we could not be more pleased with our decision to send her here. As working parents, we try to be realistic about the amount of time that we have to consistently teach our daughter the skills that she needs to be successful when she enters school. So when searching for a pre-school, curriculum and a focus on education were top on our list. We really feel that children our sponges at this age and if given the opportunity will soak up all that there is to offer. The curriculum that this school follows is absolutely amazing. She has been developing exceptional skills in geography, early math and reading preparation. The instruction she receives and the teachers dedication to inspiring pre-schoolers to learn far surpasses any expectations that we had.As if the instruction was not enough, the staff is amazing! All of the teachers are so positive and it is completely apparent how much they care for the children. Ms. Edith, the school’s director, is completely committed to providing a warm and nurturing environment for children. She has done an amazing job staffing the school with teachers that are just as committed.Beyond our happiness with the school is our daughter’s, which is most important. She cannot wait to leave for school every morning. We are absolutely thrilled to have found an environment that is allowing our daughter to flourish and preparing her for her future education, while at that same time providing her an opportunity to have fun with the friends she has made. We look forward to watching her continued development as she continues her pre-school years at this school. We highly recommend the Montessori American School.Sincerely,AJ and Erin Jackson
