My son really enjoys the class. She-Ye cares about the kids and makes them work hard. It is more than teaching about Kung Fu. He is teaching them discipline, follow through, focus and self confidence. I would recommend.

Despite he is very knowledgeable about kungfu, his communication with the students is very unpleasant, and promotes lack of self-esteem is why I gave only 2 stars. Criticizing students when they dont know things other than kungfu.Doing class, Shih-Ye ask the students about school and other topics. There was a topic regarding the planets, my child raised her hand which she was called on, she then asking thinking that Pluto was a dwarf planet, and he told her that he see why teachers didnt like her. Not understanding the basis of the whole thing, however, he was out of line making a statement like this to my daughter. She is a A&B honor roll student and likes to ask questions if she didnt understand.Well, her science teacher advised her that she was in fact correct. Also Google information stated the same thing as Pluto being a dwarf planet. He doesnt speak to his students with respect nor some parents. If you do not have expertise in a specific subject, why not be open to other answers, especially if their school teachers are teaching them on the subject in question. I sent a screenshot of the information providing my daughter was right and he have yet to respond with an apology for the disrespect comment towards my daughter. I teach my daughter to ask questions if she doesnt know or unsure about something. It doesnt give a person a right to belittle someone for trying to understand something.

My son has been enrolled since April and absolutely loves it. Shih Ye’s instruction is fantastic for young people and he focuses on the total child. Within the framework of martial arts instruction, he also works on discipline, respect, and self confidence. He empowers the students to take on leadership roles, teaches them about martial arts culture and fosters both independent and group progress concurrently. He is extremely talented at his craft and as long as you are serious about your work ethic, you will do very well.

When I first read the reviews, I was concerned that Mr. Ware would not be welcoming to my family, especially to me as a woman. However, once I met him, my fears quickly dissipated. He is extremely welcoming and friendly. My children adore him. We have truly found a home at Cincinnati Kung Fu and Tai Chi Center and plan to keep our children enrolled for years to come.

Six years ago, I sought out a martial arts school to provide my daughter with effective self-defense techniques and improve her self-confidence. A close friend recommended Shih-Fu Kenneth Ware due to his pedigree (3 Time International World Champion and member of the Chinese Martial Arts Hall of Fame), and more importantly, his ability to expedite the development of his students through his traditional approach to Kung Fu. In a few short weeks of my daughter joining the school, I knew I made the right decision. She had already learned a few techniques to protect herself, and I could see that she would flourish under Shih-Fus instruction. Within six months, I was so impressed with his teaching that I joined the adult class. I studied Kung Fu for five years and recently began studying Tai Chi. I could not be happier with the knowledge and skills my daughter and I received from Shih-Fu. Not only does he teach skills, but also instills values as an integral part of his program. He teaches all students respect for self, elders and people in general. He cares about developing each student mentally and physically. He requires discipline and hard work in both class and school. The end result is a unique opportunity for martial arts mastery that I highly recommend to anyone interested in pursuing authentic Kung Fu and Tai Chi.

This school is a great school, theres no other way to look at it. Yes, the training is intense and the expectations are very high (from the moment you walk in the door), but thats TRADITIONAL martial arts training as it is and should be. Checking what you might not even realize is your ego at the door will give you warm welcome. It is very difficult to find a martial arts school that upholds the traditional teaching method and when you do, it is in your best interest to experience it with humility. A teachers responsibility is to grow their students in skill and, most importantly, character. Students of character are ultimately a teachers legacy. No true teacher means any ill will to someone learning their art. So come experience the our school. As a student of over ten years, I can attest that I started, at the beginning, knowing nothing about martial arts and have grown in all areas of my life under the careful instruction of Shih-Fu Kenneth Ware. In those ten years, as Ive traveled, competed, and helped instruct, Ive come to realize how fortunate I am to have found a school that upholds the traditional teaching style. I truly believe this is one of the best martial arts schools in the country.

My son went and the teacher was very rude. He Told me he doesnt shake hands. I wanted to read before I signed all the paperwork and he told me that I was holding up the class and it was just 3 pages. He then got mad because my son couldnt get the moves right and hes 4 trying to learn. He then moved to say hes not ready, he cant be 4, and get out! We have NEVER been there and it was just an extremely bad experience I wouldnt recommend it for any child less than 6 years old

Shih-Ye Kenneth Ware possesses an unfathomable amount of knowledge in Chinese martial arts, culture, medicine, and spirituality. Shih-Ye continues to amaze me with every new bit of insight he reveals, many of which would stun the western world. Since starting Tai Chi at this school a year and a half ago, I have noticed a remarkable improvement in my physical well-being, and mental clarity. While I was a little intimidated with the traditional teaching style of the school at first, I truly feel lucky to study and learn ancient Chinese arts under such a decorated and caring instructor. There is no doubt in my mind of how special, authentic and rare his teachings are. My progress thus far amazes me, and I cant begin to imagine where Ill be years from now with Shih-Ye guiding me on my journey to be more centered as a person, bringing out my true self.

My five year old son has been attending the school just shy of a year now. His discipline and balance have improved drastically. He loves his classmates & has developed a great relationship with Shih-ye Ware. Shih-ye is hard on him, but in all the right ways. The members of this school are truly a family.I love watching my son grow and ask questions to become a better student. This kung fu school was an excellent choice.

On August 3, 2010, at the age of 38, I was diagnosed with a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a genetic disease that enlarges the lower left chamber wall of the heart muscle. After hearing my diagnosis, my life was in turmoil. Psychologically, my mind was in distress and I had no motivation. Darkness was hovering over my spirit and my mind. April 2015, I joined this school and met Si Fu Kenneth Ware. Si Fu is a great inspiration to me. He is humble, patient, and understanding, as well as one of the wisest men I have ever met in my life. His knowledge of Tai Chi is evident in every lesson. His zealous personality engages students and makes them want to learn more. When his students have questions or concerns regarding his instructions, he is gracious and patient in giving answers. Si Fu explains techniques to help each student understand to the best of his ability.

Im currently a student. Ive been a student for almost 7 years. Throughout my years of studying, Ive learned more and more things I didnt know about kung fu. Theres no other great martial arts teacher than Shih-Ye. When you become a student the training will not only change your life but will always help you become more disciplined. Overall, kung fu is a great workout.

My son has been a student of Shi-Ye Ware since January of 2105. Since that time, he has leaned listening skills, discipline, how to focus, and he has gained a higher self esteem. Additionally, I attend a Tae-Bo Kickboxing class, free-of-charge, since my son attends Kung Fu class. I have lost 14 pounds and 1 dress size, since March, when I started taking the class. I read a review where someone was upset because they showed up 2 hours early to Tai-Chi class and was sent home. Upon returning, 2 hours later, they arrived in shorts for the class. My response is: Who does that? There are small boys and girls attending the early evening classes. I support Shi-Ye in his decision to have the grown-adult man return in 2 hours; as a parent, I would not want a stranger sitting in the waiting area, watching my child perform Kung-Fu. I also would not want to take a class, that required a lot of kicking, with a man in shorts. No one wants to see, or smell, your sweaty man parts. I guess common sense isnt that common.
