Sean is an excellent guitar teacher. When he first meets with you he evaluates your skill level and tailors his lessons specifically for you. He recognizes that not everyone learns in the same way. He also likes to balance technical learning with the fun of learning to play songs. Over the last five months or so, my skills have increased and I am playing better than I ever have in my life. Just a few months shy of turning 60, I decided to take up playing guitar! I could not have asked for a better teacher than Sean. He is INCREDIBLY patient and encouraging. Hes also made learning fun--he teaches the instrument in the context of playing music I know. He obviously loves what he does--sometimes I think he gets more excited with my progress than I do! I can highly recommend Sean for guitar students of any age!

My son has learned acoustic and electric guitar as well as bass from Sean. Sean is not only talented and patient but he listens to the needs of his students. Sean McGary at The Music Salon is excellent! Ive taken guitar lessons in the past, and decided to start back up again as I was in a rut and wanted to continue to improve. I feel like Ive learned more in two lessons with Sean, especially about some basic musical theory concepts and the fretboard, than I ever have from anyone else! It was like a light bulb went off for me. In the short time, he has given me some more great fundamentals that I can continue to build upon in my playing. What I also like is that not only is he a good teacher, but he also plays out on a regular basis and can bring that experience and knowledge to you. He has a wealth of information as a result, but in this short time, Ive found that he does a great job of keeping it tailored to where you are in your guitar playing development. Its a nice blend of theory, instruction, and real world guitar playing. Ive had a lot of fun with Sean, and look forward to learning more with him at The Music Salon.

Sean is an amazing instructor- he came highly recommended and I understand why. From what I have seen, if he cant learn it from Sean it cant be learned!
