My daughter came from a corporate day care. It was the gold standard in child care but it didn’t fit my daughters personality and she didn’t love it. Montessori was very different. I think both centers are great, but for my daughter Montessori was clearly the best! The carrying staff and more relaxed style fit my daughter’s needs perfectly. I can’t stress enough about the caring staff. Frequently I would even see then at kids birthday parties.

This is an amazing center with attentive teachers and helpers. My son has thrived there and I love the fact they are outside most of the day!

My daughter started going to this center last year as a 3 year old and she has learned so much in the short time she has been going here. She loves all of the amazing teachers and truly enjoys every day she gets to go. The center is extremely clean and organized and an amazing playground in the back. I would recommend this center to anyone looking for a daycare. Im so happy that I found this wonderful gem!

Our family has been blessed to have found the wonderful childcare staff at Montesorri Children’s Center. We sent both of our boys to MCC since they were two years old. The staff has always been very warm, welcoming and caring. The main teachers have not changed from when my oldest son started in 2014.As a parent I could not imagine a better and or more consistent staff. I have always felt like they treat us like part of the family. In fact they went out of their way to help our family when I broke my elbow and was having trouble juggling physical therapy and childcare. Bethany, Jan and the rest of the staff will bend over backwards for your family.As an educator myself, I know both of my children were well prepared for kindergarten and MCC helped set a good foundation for my children to be curious lifelong learners. They encourage children to explore and learn through play. Also literacy is an extremely important indicator for a child’s later academic success and MCC showed how important it is by ending everyday with reading. My children never wanted to leave. It was always, “Mom can I stay for just one more book?”I would recommend MCC to anyone looking for a great and caring environment that is more than just a daycare. It’s a place that nurtures your child to grow.

Montessori Childrens Center has been such a perfect fit for us.The adults there care about and truly understand kids. Our son feels loved and gets to be himself without the stress of a rigid curriculum and classroom expectations that are not developmentally appropriate.They put exploration, curiosity, and play first - and hes so happy every day, which is what is most important to us.If you have a 2-5-year-old in the Des Moines Area, I cant recommend MCC enough!

Our son has attended for 2 years, and MCC feels like home for him! We love the nurturing environment where he can explore, discover, and grow as he prepares for kindergarten. It’s a great family atmosphere, and we will be sad to leave!

We trust the staff at MCC and appreciate the joy and nurturing spirit they bring with them every day. It’s been a year of adapting and everyone at MCC has done a wonderful job trying to keep a safe environment while maintaining a sense of normalcy for the kids. The teachers are very accessible and responsive. It’s been a wonderful experience for us and most importantly for little E.

Best childcare experience we’ve had. The MCC staff are wonderful, compassionate and love what they do and it shows. Bethany and Maria are exceptional. They regularly go above and beyond to make sure each kiddo has an individualized experience. We just had another baby and I already cannot wait to get her started there. Don’t look anywhere else, it will be a waste of good time.

MCC was the perfect place for our two children. The teachers create a warm and supportive environment, that makes our children love to be there. In our five years there, the teacher turnover is almost zero and our children LOVE the teachers! Our children loved the playground, learning stations, kids garden and specially the special parents night out activities. I highly recommend MCC especially if you are looking for a Montessori experience that listens and care about their families.

I don’t even know where to start, You truly get a special experience attending this Montessori. It’s not like a regular daycare. You get the child center hours, structure, and peer interaction, with an in home feel. The daycare is always clean and changing out interactive play stations for the kids. They take the time to get to know each child. They create a different learning environment with one on one teaching. The staff becomes like a family to your child and parents. They make Communications super easy. I couldn’t think of a better place to send my daughter, were grateful for all the awesome experiences she had there and felt fully ready for kindergarten!!! Thank you Montessori day care!!

Moving our 3 year old from in home daycare to Clive Montessori was the best move we’ve made so far. He has thrived at Clive Montessori and discovered he’s quite the artist! The teachers are all so wonderful, the curriculum is open yet effective, the kids treat one another well.... I just can’t say enough good things!

Absolutely amazing! My son started in their two year old room and continued into their preschool program. I honestly believe that he was ready for kindergarten because of the amazing teachers there. After spending 3 years with them, we became like a family and continue that relationship now, even though my son has graduated their preschool. Jan is amazing and is wonderful with the children. I would recommend them to anyone looking for childcare/preschool.

My daughter hasnt just enjoyed going to Montessori Childrens Center, she has THRIVED! The teachers are all so awesome and my daughter enjoys and learns from them all. Bethany is her three-year-old room is her favorite. People tell me all the time how articulate and well behaved and peaceful she is, and I think that just reflects on the people she spends all day with, not just parenting. I have had friends kids also attend here, and the patience and kindness they have even with challenging kids is incredible. I cant recommend them enough. The center is well lit, fun, clean, and comfortable. My daughter has a severe dairy allergy they are so careful with, she has never had an issue and they cook her food special (that is a HUGE deal for me!!!). They play outside in big yard with so much grass and with multiple play sets. They help garden in the summer and take trips to the wading pool across the street. I could go on and on. We love MCC, I cant believe we found into this gem. It means the world to have my girl taken such good care of in a place where she loves to be and learns so much.

Our three-year-old has been attending Montessori Childrens Center for about six months, and changing preschools/childcare facilities has been a great decision for our family! We have always been drawn to the Montessori method and believe our daughter thrives in this setting. Miss Bethany in the three-year-old room is fantastic with the kids; shes very patient, trustworthy, accommodating, and communicates very well with us as parents. She also sends pictures and updates throughout the day—something that has been incredibly valuable to us. Additionally, weve had nothing but wonderful experiences with Jan, the director, and believe she truly cares for the children there. The outdoor space is amazing with a large space to play and even a garden the kids can help tend, and the rooms are kept very tidy and kid-centered with lots of different options for play and exploration. Were very pleased with MCC and look forward to our daughter continuing to learn there until shes ready to start kindergarten!

Our daughter attended MCC from age 2 until she started kindergarten and had great experiences! The staff is excellent with the children and I was always confident that my little one was in good hands. Highly recommended!

I contacted Jan inquiring about cost for this school. After a couple of communications back & forth, she would not give me the information I was asking for and said I should contact her when my child is old enough to attend. Waste of time. Business must be good if she can afford to brush off perspective students. If she is that unhelpful in this small of an interaction, I hate to imagine how she would respond regarding something more important.

I have two children who both went to MCC. I would highly recommend this center. It is family owned and operated which, my husband and I really liked. They know you and your children. The teachers are caring and keep you posted daily. I love walking in to pick up the kids as the teachers greet me with a smile and provide a synopsis of my child’s day. They are creative and are always doing projects and activities with my kiddos. My children and I will miss MCC as they are school aged. This is a wonderful place to send your child. They provide you with piece of mind that every working parent needs.

My daughter went to Montessori Children’s Center in Clive from the age of 2 until she “graduated” and went to Kindergarten. We had used another childcare center and toured many others before landing here. We could not have been happier with the level of care and sense of home we found at MCC. With dedicated, caring staff and full, exciting days at the center, my daughter was always excited to go to “school” and loved every teacher she had there. Her years at the Center helped shape her into the vibrant, creative, amazing little first grader that she is today! Thank you so much MCC! ❤️❤️

Our daughter Gemma went to this preschool from age 2 1/2 years until this past Fall when she started Kindergarten. They are not just a great group of caregivers- they became family. We are so happy with the care, learning, love and friendships Gemma received from attending. She loved going here and misses it often. We would definitely recommend this place for everyone!! I highly recommend Montessori Childrens Center for your child. My oldest son went here as soon as he turned 2. He learned, grew and was ready for Kindergarten. The staff is consistent, there is no turnover. The summer helpers are great as well.Its a family owned business and they care about your child and you as the parent. The teaching is great!!! My kids never want to leave!My 4 year has been here since he turned 2 as well and was not speaking much. He started Montessori and was speaking in full sentences w/in a few months. The teachers & I were consistent in his education and we were successful! He was also potty trained before he turned 3 within one week. The communication & consistency between the teachers and myself made this possible. My baby will soon attend Montessori as well and we are so excited!!!I always tell my friends and co-workers about this pre-school. Working parents get a peace of mind when your child is here. I highly recommend MCC!!!

Truly the best! MCC combines the Montessori approach with a more typical 21st century preschool environment, providing the best of both worlds! I pulled my son out of a more typical preschool and moved him to MCC just after he turned 3, as the overly structured program was not working well for my fidgety little boy. Other Montessoris were stiff and uncomfortable, but MCC was different. I made the move. My sons attitude and behavior changed within weeks! Finally, he was able to burn off energy WHILE learning!! Now he is 6 years old, half-way through kindergarten. His scores are above average across the board - academically and socially!

MCC is simply the best. We have taken our two children there for seven years as have had nothing but an incredible experience. MCC is like family to us! It’s so wonderful having a place we completely trust and are thankful to send our kids to.I love the Montessori philosophy and inquiry based learning methods. They do such a great job supporting children’s natural curiosity while also teaching independence, responsibility and important life skills. I’ve been so impressed with how’s much my kids have learned and how’s much fun they have! They love their teachers, they do so many fun activities and never seem to get bored. I’m also impressed with how often the activities in the room change, and all the cool arts projects they bring home! The owner and all the teachers are truly the best people; kind, nurturing, patient with a solid sense of humor. We’re so lucky to have MCC in our lives!

I am so thankful for MCC (Montessouri Childrens Center).All three of our kids have attended their school since they were very little. I was so nervous about all of them starting so early, but all three have had a great experience.The teachers are all SO caring and nurturing - all three kids talk about them all the time, and frequently run up to a teacher for a hug as soon as they arrive.Its such an amazing blessing to have a wonderful place where you KNOW your kids are cared for and are learning more than you can imagine. Plus, I like that it is VERY small (my kids know ALL of the other students and teachers, and they get individual care,) and that MCC is privately owned by a wonderful family.As an example - todaythey were doing hand print crafts, but my son wanted to paint his foot too... I think most centers would have simply said, No, and made him do his hand like everyone else.Instead, his teacher came from a place of FOSTERING CREATIVITY, and helped him follow his creative thought, and do the craft with his foot. :)That decision affirmed his creativity, illustrated that his voice is important and quite simply made him very happy.Im a happy mama, knowing that he, and his sisters are in such good hands. 💕

Our daughter went to MCC for three years and I cant say enough about the quality care that Bethany provides! The programming and activities they provide for two- and three-year-olds is simply outstanding. Bethany and the other teachers at MCC nurtured my daughters curiosity and love of books, and got her on the path to be an early reader.Only concern while we were there was the teacher turnover in the four-year-old preschool classroom, but I know that its hard to find high quality early childhood educators as they are in such high demand.Overall, we had a truly excellent experience at MCC and would recommend.

We had a horrible expirence at our sons last center. Montessori Childrens Center has welcomed our son, made us have such peace of mind leaving our son in their hands. In two days of him being there, they have gotten to know his disposition well enough to tell that our son was a little off & not himself. They took his temp & he had a small fever. When my husband came to pick him up, the teacher had him wrapped in his blankey, cradled im her arms & rocking him. Knowing they care & treat our son as their own means the world to us. Jm has gone from one center where he screamed & had anxiety to saying YAY when we pull up to school.He also has his abcs almost down pat! I am so grateful for this school, you have no idea! We have had our kids at MCC for over 3 years now. It is without a doubt the only place I trust in the Des Moines area to care for them. Our son started at 2 years old and is now 5. Day to day, I see all of the valuable skills he learned from the great staff over that time, helping him prepare for kindergarten. Creativity, analytical skills, reading, writing, and an overall passion for learning new things! He loves attending, so much that he gets upset when we arrive late in the morning, because he doesn’t want to miss any of the learning activities! We now also send our twins, who graduated from the 2 year old room to 3 year olds, and they are blossoming and learning everyday. Each morning, they run in to hug their teachers and don’t want to leave when we pick them up in the afternoon. Thank you, MCC!

I recommend Montessori Childrens Center to anyone with preschool-aged children for multiple reasons:Location: You cant be location with convenient access to I-235. Its great for parents who work downtown or out west.Experience: Writing our experience with MCC in a simple review is tough, because there are so many great things about the school. This isnt just a daycare, it was (and still is) our childrens second home, and a wonderful place for learning. Our oldest son started when he was 2. Not kidding, after 1 week at MCC he was able to identify all of his letters. Now, not all children may pick up things this quickly, but it gave us the peace-of-mind that our child was getting education and having fun all in one place.When he turned four, we couldve easily taken advantage of free preschool in the state of Iowa, but we stayed put. The teachers are amazing, the activities, the adventures, the experience, the friends our children made (and us with their parents). It truly is one big family.When our second son was old enough, we immediately enrolled him. It was a no-brainer for us and we were extremely excited for him to share the same experiences as his brother.Rest assured your child is in GREAT hands at MCC. There is absolutely no worry. From teachers who treat your child as their own, who have enough patience to teach right from wrong, ABCs to writing and unforgettable experiences. MCC has been the absolute best for our family and I will be sad when our youngest goes off to kindergarten.
