I am a former student and let me tell you what. I had to go back to pay a book fee and the staff is still rude all the time. The Principal ( Mrs.Williams when I was a student but she not that anymore) yelled at me for a good 15 minutes for being rude in the library. Safe to say strong willed students wont make it here. Only send in kids who want to be put in a box.

We moved to the area and I had to put my children in this school. I am so pleased at how attentive and caring the school staff is about the children. This is a very good school. Every issue that we had encountered through the year was met quickly and many times the issues were brought to my attention when I didnt even know. We had special circumstances that required extra safety for my children and the staff far exceeded any expectations I had. They were so kind and caring and always kept me informed of my childrens progress academically. Mrs. Williams is an amazing principal who was always there when I needed to talk or meet with her. I am very pleased with this school and look forward to many more years here with my children who will be attending as they get old enough to go to Middle School. I just want to say thank you to the staff and a special thank you to Mrs. Williams.

I went to this school last year and it was ok but the teachers never grade anything? And then this year my two brothers are there and one of my brother got his good cut off by a teacher. My other brother had the teacher that went to jail and I feel that the school knew what he was doing just didn’t really have a care about it. There is barely anytime to eat. And the food is not good. There is hair in it and one time someone found a bug it there food. There bagels have been moldy. Sorry Russell but you aren’t a good school

The teachers are somewhat passionate about teaching. The bullying comes in waves and is extremely bad when it does. Most students arent encouraged to learn nor are they encouraged to make friends. The security guards dont seem to know what privacy is considering the fact that when they take your phone (most of the time for invalid reasons), they try to unlock it and go so far as to go through it. Most of the people that wrote this are in the school, as am I, but Im giving it an honest rate not based on a grade I got considering the fact I make fairly good grades. But I digress, the teachers are only pointing out bad grades because this year it counts. I feel like threatening the students by not getting to continue (which they still continue and go on to ninth grade because they dont actually fail kids) is a pretty bad approach for trying to encourage students to learn. As of now, over half of the students in eighth grade have a failing grade. And half of those kids have more than one failing grade. It doesnt sound like the students are the problem. Maybe the teaching methods of the teachers are the problem. Maybe the school should train their teachers better and not accept just any old teacher. Maybe they should be more strict with their students because teachers wont extend due dates in highschool. The students should think of middle like a training for highschool/college and not just a daycare. But, I cant change the school. Nobody else can either. I do not recommend going there. For your childs own good of course

Its a great school. They are a performing arts school. If your kid loves music, this school is definitely for them!

The teachers are very rude and not helpfull to children or their parents. All they do is laugh and talk with other staff and ignore the child that needs help. When they finally done chatting, they talk to the child rude and impatient. The child feels like she cant get any help and the teacher is mad at her. If you talk to a counselor, think about it twice. After that, your child will be singled out and embarrassed in front of the entire class. Oh, and try e mailing a teacher if you have questions about a project or something. No helpfull respond, if any. This school is a failure all the way. If youre involved with PTA, or know the teacher or donate a lot, youre child will be treated right.

Teacher arrested for child porn and should we be surprised? Take a look at the school library and how the librarian funnels students to the EBSCO, digital products for homework ! These EBSCO digital products have been in the news all over the country! But Colorado Springs schools and public libraries just love to push them at kids, full of advertisements for the 95 billion dollar sex industry and links to porn. Think they are above the law - OK to distribute porn to minors. Just google EBSCO Porn to read through pages of news stories. Shame on Russell - garbage in - garbage out.

Awful. Huge drug and liquor issue. I also understand sometimes my children are difficult but there isnt a need to scream at the and send them out every day expecially when you cant provide a reason why you did. The principal doesnt know how to run this school at all. Awful academics expecially in 8th grade math. Pleas send your kids to Sabin or Jenkins, Anywere but here

This school apparently does not screen its potential employees. They recently hired an individual who has already been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, is an alcoholic and currently in rehab. Apparently, if a relative works for d11, it doesnt matter what type person you are, your hired
