Very nice campus. I was very impressed with the Tsys Cybersecurity Center.

Claims to be veteran friendly and offer “accommodations” which are not delivered if the book is not “required” and not delivered on time. So the alternative book format they offer still doesn’t give you the same advantage as a student who doesn’t need accommodations which lead to me failing a class. I wasted my GI Bill only to be kicked from the RN program a week and a half before the program started and I’ve already been and ICU Nurse in the Army.

Great school. My younger sister attends there. She is in her 3rd year now. Im so proud of her and excited for the new school year. For the most part its very clean in her rooms so far. But the electricity in her room doesnt work, its summer guys. Bedroom light doesnt work, bathroom and closet light works fine. And the air in the entire unit doesnt work. Luckily she put in a work order basically and theyll come fix it. Fingers crossed cause boy it was hot.

CSU has been full of great opportunities that I have had the chance to take a part in and Ive only been here a year so far! The campus only continues to grow and improve and all of the faculty and staff have been more than willing to help me get to where I need to be. Just like any school, as long as you stay on top of your work, itll have some of the best times of your life! Cant wait for next year!Edit-One year later and I wish I could give it more stars! CSUs professional faculty and wonderful staff always leave me wishing other places were like them! CSU has given me some very valuable education and experiences. Every university has its faults, but with CSU, if you try and make a difference, theyll help you! People like to complain online but never do much in the real world. Ive had very few times where something was amiss at this university, but when I addressed it to those that could help, they would do exactly that, and it would be fixed before I even knew it. Learning in the classes here is more fun than it is a chore if Im honest. The professors really care and the classes are small enough to make real connections. I wish I could speak for everyone, but sadly I cant and am not sure just how true these bad reviews are, but I can attest to my incredible experience at CSU and how it is one of the best schools in the Southeast and definitely a hidden gem to those looking at schools. Still cant wait for another great year as CSU only gets better!Second Edit-It has been quite some time since making a review for me! Its been so long, that I graduated a year ago! Crazy stuff, but I still love this university! Through the pandemic, the tough times were made easier by support of the faculty and staff. Before the pandemic though, when this university could shine without limits, it really showed me what I was made of and what I could do in this life. Although smaller than most, CSU is mighty due to its community, support for students, and overall amazing ways of teaching. Looking back, I can tell there were moments where I was learning so much and didnt even realize it. Now that I have graduated, I can only appreciate my time there and wish that the end wasnt so bittersweet. If you are ever thinking of coming here, I would say go for it! Somehow, it is just a place that proves your potential and pushes you into new and better parts of life!

The teachers are extremely lazy. If you’re interested in computer science go elsewhere. You will have to mainly teach yourself. The professors do not even try to pretend like they enjoy teaching. The technology that’s taught and tools used are very outdated.

As far as acceptance, I had no problem hearing back within the promised 2 weeks. So far this school is the first choice for my daughter and I hope it is not as bad as many people are saying it is. I will follow up Fall 2019 after she starts.

Campus looked amazing today.

This place nickels and dimes you to death. Why am I paying to repay the school loan for the parking deck and then being charged again for a parking placard? The majority of my tuition is for stuff that has nothing to do with my education. The school would rather spend hundreds of dollars on fancy trashcans rather then hiring exceptional staff. The outside of the university looks good, but you step inside and it looks and smells like its straight out of the 1960s.

By far the worst institution I have attended.. very disappointed. The professors are not helpful, VERY unprofessional and lazy. They are terrible at communicating, responding to students, and returning phone calls. I constantly have to call and ask them to do the same things over and over again to fix my account. I get 5 different stories and answers when I ask the faculty questions. It just seems like no one knows what they are doing. Will NOT be returning another semester. Really did not want to even give one star, but it was required to post this.

Do not come here for Computer Science. If you are looking for a place to prepare you in the future try a different school. Research the professors, and use rate my professor on the department 2.0 is usually the average on their ratings.The run around is common. Expectations start high and drop very low at this school.

I returned to CSU in Spring 2017 to pursue a second degree in Criminal Justice. I graduated in 1972 with a BA in English Language and Literature. I love being back on campus after 45 years. My professors have been awesome, and I am looking forward to Fall semester!

The staff is allowed to pretty much do as they please to anyone and everyone, regardless if you take any issues through Proper Channels.The Department Chairs pretty much default towards the professors at all times. Funny how someone whos best interest is to make sure his or her department is in order and under control- is tasked to investigate themselves, so the quintessential result is them sweeping anything and everything Under the Rug to not look bad. Funny.

Worst. Do not go here. They will charge you for nothing and then not tell you about it until its almost too late to pay, classes are difficult to get into, the food is horrible, theres not enough parking, and they are only adequate at best at handling military students. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Education and life balance is something my daughter found in this school. The internship program is remarkable.

Im currently enrolled and taking a Real Estate course that started in August. Im a veteran and used my Post 9/11 benefits and still have not been reimbursed. The Veterans Affairs representatives are not informed in Veterans Affairs and how paperwork should be submitted so that we (veterans) received our entitlements including the housing allowance. Several other veterans in the same course are also experiencing the same issues as I am. I also work at the VA in healthcare so veteran care is extremely important to me. I would not suggest ANY VETERAN take a course from the continuing education department. I will be submitting a formal complaint as well as contacting the VA as to the performance. Ive used my benefits before and have never experienced this type of delay.

Glad to have spent my time here and graduated from Columbus State University. Lots of student organizations to get into and friendly faculty.

If you work for the school dont be surprised if you dont get paid because CSU doesnt process your paperwork in time for an employee who has worked for the school for several years.Also dont be surprised if your financial aid doesnt get processed in time either

My experience at CSU is been pretty decent and the quality of education is ok. I haven’t had any real issues until this semester. Customer service amongst the staff is pretty much nonexistent. I can’t get a straightforward answer about the fees for online classes and trying to get in contact with anyone in the registrar’s office is a nightmare. Enrollment services never knows anything other than what’s on mycsu, they chew gum loudly into the phone, and pass the buck by giving you other numbers and departments to call who also can’t help you. I’ve been trying to register for weeks and can’t because no one knows what the problem is and who I need to speak to about it even though I just took classes there this spring.

Awful! They charge you for so much extra stuff! And the customer service help is a nightmare! There are many other schools for much less that offer way more.

My daughter goes here and will graduate with her bachelor degree next month.i am so so proud.

This place is as much of as a joke as Trump University. Any graduating high school seniors out there, i have some advice for you. You might as well live with your parents for a while and work to save up the money to move to Metro Atlanta and get a degree from a real college.

I am falling in love with columbus state University. Althogh am just applying, but I am impressed with swift response to questions, so also the warm and professionalism demonstrated by Tammy ( Int admissions counselor). The help desk is wonderful. They respond to my query in less than 5 minutes(I have never experienced such turn-around time before). My instincts tells me, I will be happy and fufilled if I attend Columbus state University.

Take your GI BILL somewhere else, this is coming from an AD Veteran (68w20), currently in the Reserve. I had orders/memo, I was called to an unexpected training (Surprise Med Coverage for another unit) event and I was uncommunicated for a week. This entire week I spent out in the field doing MOSQ related training. When I was finally able to power my phone and had time to explain to the professor and actually send her the orders she disregarded my orders like they were nothing. Then her Supervisor as in Department Chair took her side because apparently they refuse to acknowledge that I have absolutely no option when it comes to orders or training. They have successfully made me despise a class which was once my passion, great learning experience. Not to mention the ridiculously broken Channels of communication which are pointless to use. We (Veterans) are apparently just dollar bills in CSU.
