Like all educational institutions they have some good and some not so good instructors. I attended Ohio State first for a year, and I found Franklins instructors were more helpful than Ohio States. Others might have had a different outcome. Also, Franklins instructors were less political.

I read through a lot of the negative reviews about Franklin and I am noticing one common theme: lack of accountability. Most of the reviews were blaming the school for doing what college requires you to do. No one said going to college was going to be a walk in the park. You have to EARN your degree and that requires putting in the work, the effort, and staying motivated. It’s up to YOU to take an exam at the testing center or obtain an appropriate proctor. They give you more than enough time to arrange that into your schedule. It’s also up to you to turn assignments in on time and coordinate your schedule to fit the deadlines. In the professional world, your boss isn’t going to extend your deadline because your kid got sick so why should your professor? Plan ahead and BE ACCOUNTABLE.I am two a Franklin Alumni and I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience. Franklin is a great option for someone who needs a little more flexibility than traditional “in-person” college. I highly recommend the programs they offer, the instructors, and the administration. My experience was awesome because I put in the effort. Please do not take the reviews from people being lazy as accuracy about this university.

I love Franklin University because the professors care. Each course is based on a student-centered curriculum created by a variety of professionals whose goal it is to provide top quality education. By standardizing the learning curriculum, they lessen the chance that students will be cheated by a professor who may be having an off semester. Go Franklin!

I have been going to Franklin University for the past year and it has been a great experience. The professors are all experienced professionals in their respective fields. The online collaboration tools are fantastic and convenient for individuals like I who work full time while attending college. I would definitely recommend this school for anyone wishing to further their education while working.

DO NOT ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!DO NOT ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!DO NOT ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!DO NOT ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!They advertise being the number one online university. Ive never in my education history encountered such a bad experience. For the amount of tuition that this university charges, you would believe you would have a better educational outcome. I am an advocate to not attend this university if you want support, respect, and a better education experience. Especially if you want to graduate on time and not be stuck with rude, unhelpful professors, and be left with paying more money out of pocket.

If you are working an going to school Franklin definitely has the most options to fit your schedule. Additionally, their professors are mostly all adjunct which means you are learning from experience professionals with practical application to real world situations not from some professional academic teaching theory. I learned much more here than I did during my experience at a traditional university.

If you are a working individual, have a family, and want to further your education by taking online classes, Franklin is NOT the place. Many of their classes require proctor testing. This will require you to go to a testing center to take an exam. I understand the need for this type of testing for certifications and licensing, but not for college courses. Between balancing a schedule for work, family and school, you will also have to find time to go somewhere to take a test. If you live in a rural area, good luck finding a testing center. There are also usually additional fees involved as well. Proctor testing defeats the whole purpose of taking online courses.

This place charged me for classes I never took nor attended. They have a policy that says you have to pay for the full class even if you never show, but never explained this to me or all the others. All they care about is making money not education.

I am a current student with Franklin. I have one class left and I will finish my bachelor of Human Resource Management in December. I started my degree at Rhodes State College and then came to Franklin to finish up my bachelors degree. The school has been so helpful and I have learned so much in my year and a half at Franklin. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone with a full time job.

Admission process is a nightmare. They never tell you what additional document is missing or required without emailing them. With such high tuition fee, one would expect the staff to be helpful and respectful but my experience with them was not good. It has already taken them more than one month to get acceptance and I still waiting. During this wait, I got admission to two other universities within a week of applying. I have already decided not to go to this university. Terribly slow admission process!!

I went with this school even tho they have bad reviews because people are harsh, well I should have listened because I wish I would have chosen a different school. With franklin being private and far more expensive youd think theyd want students and help them as much as they can but they dont at all! I have had nothing but trouble from when I first applied in Nov. 2016. they do not ever reach out to let you know if youre missing information or what to do next. Ive waited weeks thinking I have everything completed because I did what they said for registering & financial aide and come to find out way later I am still missing information they never told me I needed to do. for example they let me wait weeks on my acceptance letter because they told me to send my previous transcripts so I did.. waited and waited and NEVER heard anything till I called and they said they were still waiting on a school I had dropped out of. I would have never known to send that one if I didnt call them to see why I hadnt been accepted. and for being a school that works with working adults this is the same as the other 2 schools I went to that didnt. I do all online and still have to rearrange my schedule because a class REQUIRES you to be there for a Web conference or class meeting. I am not pleased with franklin at all!

Crooks, my wife tried to attend there and cancelled classes according to there time deadline. (She cancelled because of going interested labor early). They had cancelled all classes but one and one class slipped thru saying it was never cancelled . Years go by and we here nothing then murphy law office gets ahold of it and said she owed for one class that she never attended or cancelled. We have ask for proof and never receive anything we request and just get a paper saying she owes it. We feel we are not obligated to pay but tried several times to settle or pay or make payment arrangements with Murphys law office . They will not settle or take payment arrangements. We have made several attempts to call or handle this and they never call back or produce anything. Now we get court summons over this....very unprofessional and janky University. I work and in finance and have seen similar things on my customers credit from Franklin University and Murphys law office ...seems that this is something they have done to others as well.....

The online program at Franklin University had very little flexibility. I believe I was required online 5 days a week which was not feasible for me. I am starting at a new school and requested my transcript. Franklin does not offer an electronic form of Transcripts which has made getting settled at my new school an ordeal.

If you are a working adult with few options, you take what you can get. Franklin is not cheap-particularly for CIS majors who pay about $100 more a credit hour-and what you get in return are a teaching staff that is on the average sort of adequate, consistently disorganized online course content (even brick and mortar classes have online websites with assignment information), and required classes with insipid content and insultingly juvenile assignments. Out of the 6 classes that Ive taken there, only one of them actually taught me anything. For example, I took a required web design class which consisted of creating a blog on WordPress. On the other hand, once you reach courses with more difficult content youll find frequently indifferent instructors and poorly designed class content will be challenging in all the wrong ways. They are accredited and non-profit, so there are worse options out there certainly. Id choose them over University of Phoenix or DeVry. If you have a chance to go to a real college though, by all means do not even consider this place.
