I would definitely recommend Metrolina Martial Arts! They offer a week free trial to let you try out all the classes. The instructors teach people of all experience levels from beginner to advanced. They are very knowledgeable about their disciplines that they teach. They make martial arts simple to understand and fun at the same time. The instructors also teach younger children which is really great! The children always have a great time while learning the martial arts. Metrolina is definitely family friendly, and they offer an inexpensive monthly rate that does not break the bank. I couldn’t ask for a better dojo to be a part of!

Sifu Stahl is an amazing Instructor and incredibly knowledgeable. My Family enjoys learning Martial Arts from him. I highly recommend his Academy and programs.

The people seem great but the instructors are inconsistent. The kids instructor randomly cancels class for a week with very short notice and offers to make up for lost training time with one private 30 minute class -- youre paying for two to three days a week(3 hours a week). Youre definitely not getting a genuine experience here unfortunately.

I highly recommend this martial arts studio! This place is absolutely incredible. The instructors are really great. They are very knowledgeable. They are constantly encouraging their students. They also make class a lot of fun.The culture that sifu Ed has established here is second to none. Everyone is very respectful and is there to have a good time and learn some cool stuff.I knew almost nothing about martial arts when I signed up. Completely green. Sifu Ed and the other instructors have been nothing but welcoming, helpful, and most of all, patient with me. You can really tell that the instructors here have a serious passion for teaching these arts.Even as the covid-19 situation shut the dojo down, sifu Ed continued his curriculum via zoom for those that wished to participate, which I was extremely thankful for. The classes are always so great.I am getting in great shape, having fun, making new friends, and learning some really awesome stuff. I am truly grateful for sifu Eds continued dedication to teaching these arts. Its crazy to think how much attending this school has already changed my life. I will be forever in your debt Metrolina Martial Arts. Thank you

Great atmosphere and knowledgeable, down-to-earth instructors. I felt very comfortable as a complete beginner, with classes breaking down each technique and building on themselves at a good pace. Definitely a great place to get started and learn with some fun people!

Metrolina Martial Arts (MMA) is a wonderful place to get a great workout, while learning a new skill. All of the very knowledgeable instructors have created an open and friendly atmosphere - doling out positive remarks or constructive criticisms, as needed. You may try out for any class for free and dont worry about bringing equipment because they have various items available to borrow, which are cleaned after use. Each class is open to all skill levels and there are opportunities to compete, when you decide if that is something you want to do (not required). On a more personal note, I was honestly nervous the first time I walked in to MMA. My past involves trauma and after one specific incident, I decided enough is enough. As part of my healing journey, I thought learning a way to defend myself could help. Not only has the atmosphere of MMA been encouraging for me physically, but I have seen mental and emotional improvements in myself too. The instructors and fellow students have helped more than they will ever know. Other reasons I was nervous are because of my age (closer to 40 then I want to admit) and gender (female). Let me simply say age, gender, and fitness levels are non-issues at MMA! Finally, if you are remotely interested in seeing what MMA has to offer you, please come out and give a free class a try - cant wait to see you there!!

Let me start with some highlights about Metrolina Martial Arts:1. The Instructors Ed and Tim are both certified and experienced.BJJ through Carlos Machado, Kali / Jeet Kune Do through Ron Balicki, and Combat Submission Wrestling through Erik Paulson. Muay Thai through Bill Graff.2. Friendly Class and Instructors. A very tight knit group that are very open to help. If you are a new face you will get lots of one on one. You will also be encourage throughout your stay.3. Free to try any class - Free week of training with no obligation. You can even change into a clean Gi for BJJ after Muay Thai/4. Not SINK or SWIM. The Dojo is a learning environment. You will be encouraged to push yourself but at your comfort level.5. A safe place to learn. Coaches monitor the intensity level to prevent injury. If you are doing something unsafe the Coaches will stop you and respectfully point it out.6. CHECK the EGO at the door. This is not the Ultimate Fighter try outs. No one wants to be hurt and no one want to hurt you. There is no Shame in the tap. The one negative review this place has is probably from a person who came in for a free week and tried to sumo slam a white belt. They were probably also put into an arm bar and choked until they tapped.7. You will see results if you stay committed.8. Ed and Tim are passionate about teaching and want you to learn and have fun.In closing, what are you waiting for??? Its a free week of training!! Go there and find out for yourself.
