I love this center! We moved our 2 year old to this center a few months ago and the change we have seen in her is nothing short of amazing! She came home singing and smiling on the very first day! Her vocabulary has exploded. Her attitude is much more cooperative. When she is mastering a new concept, you can see her little mind thinking. She has become very helpful in cleaning up after herself. Her consideration for others feelings is astounding! These things are just the tip of the iceberg when trying to caption everything she has learned at Kids R Kids in Concord. This was the best move we could have ever made for our child! Thank you to all of the staff for your continued hard work and dedication!

My 3 sons just started at Kids R Kids within the last month. I am very impressed with the teachers and the amount of care and patience that they have shown. My youngest 2 children have never in a daycare setting and had a very hard time with the transition. I also have to say that the administrative side of this center are simply amazing. They have basically held my hand and guided me through this process and shown a great deal of patience with me and explaining some things I had questions about.

I can’t say enough good things about Kids R Kids. The teachers and staff are attentive and caring and make every effort to provide quality care for my children. It has to be tough trying to juggle a room full of toddlers making sure they’re fed, changed and entertained. Miss Amy and Miss Danielle in the 1 year old classroom accomplish this and so much more by also doing educational things with my child. I don’t take the care of my children lightly as they are my world, but I know they’re in good hands when I have to leave them here each day.

Our child started attending as of March 2019 and we’ve had a positive experience for the most part. We’re huge fans of the facility’s layout with all glass doors/walls and our ability to keep up with the day’s activities through their apps. I felt I had to remove 1 star due to a few bumps in the road around the time of change in ownership with adjusting to the turnover and new teachers, but things have been moving in a positive direction as time goes on. Our child has developed great interactive skills and the teachers that are now in the classroom seem to be doing a great job. As for the new owner I believe everyone just needed time to adjust to change. There were a few changes that we weren’t used to but he’s been nothing but helpful throughout the process. I can’t fail to mention how helpful he and the staff were with walking me through the completion of forms needed for childcare benefits through my employer!

We were very apprehensive about enrolling our first child in a daycare or learning center such as Kids R Kids however our outlook has completely changed! Kids R Kids Concord has been the best decision we couldve made for our children. The teachers are very skilled from an academic perspective but most importantly they are warm and loving. You can tell they really love what they do and the children. Our children love the teachers and they feel like members of our family. The food they provide is great and our child has a serious allergy that is closely monitored. The administrative team is thorough and cares just as much for the children as the teachers do. The owners are also involved in the daily operation of the school. They are both devoted to child care and manage to make you feel as though your children are the only ones there. Our daughter was sick today and one of the owners stayed with her until we got there. If you want an atmosphere that teaches your child strong academics while supporting their own creativity in a loving and caring setting, look no further! xoxo -happy parents.

My children have had two separate experiences with Kids-R-Kids, once as infants and again at 2 yrs. old. We fell in love with the facility then and we love it now. While the ownership has changed the compassion for their children has not changed. My daughter suffered from hearing loss due to inflamed adenoids and the owner was helpful and accommodating of the things we asked of him, considering this.If you are looking for a facility that genuinely cares for your children while you are away this is it.

My son attended KRK for 4 years. Overall, we had a positive experience. However, we have recently changed schools largely due to a change in ownership the end of 2018. While my sons teachers were wonderful, the new ownership seems to lack knowledge of state childcare requirements or general leadership principles. The staff has not seemed happy with the new leadership, and seemed to be belittled and berated regularly. As a result staff turnover recently has been VERY high. There have been multiple violations in the past year and the new ownership has a 4 star license and spanish was removed from the curriculum. Neither of these changes were communicated to parents. Further, the new ownership implemented teacher workdays and gave parents less than a month notice before the first one. The state is coming in to do re-training next month so I will hope things turn around for the children that remain.

Our time with Kids r Kids spanned almost a year. My main concerns lie with the management team, both old and new. The first issue we had with old management was handled very poorly. I was basically told that I was mistaken and over reacting without even taking a moment to look at the video tape. As a first time mom, even if I had been mistaken, it would have been nice to know the management team stood behind me and the safety of my family. They didn’t need to condemn their teacher without proof. All I wanted was some assurance they were on my team, too.Against my better judgment, we left our daughter enrolled at KrK. We noticed our daughter becoming more and more upset at drop off after the management shift. I brought up my concerns about her daily report not being filled out to numerous teachers which consistently went unnoticed. The final straw came when my husband had me check the cameras due to her meltdown at drop off. When I turned the camera on, about two minutes after, a teacher took a full plate of breakfast food away from her and threw it away. They proceeded to leave her at that table by herself for fifty-eight minutes. I picked her up shortly after and never brought her back. I sat down with administrator that day and expressed my disappointment and concerns. I spoke with them a few days later to inform them she would not be returning and not once did someone from the management team speak with me.The only positive experience we had was with Amy and Danielle. Room 200 was the only time I truly felt my daughter was safe and in the care of teachers who had her best interest in mind, consistently.

We are new, 1st time parents and when it came time to go back to work, we viewed a couple of places, But we fell in LOVE with this facility and the staff. I felt so comfortable with leaving my daughter here. The curriculum is great. My daughter is learning something new everyday. The teachers are very involved with each child and goes above and beyond the call of duty. When I tell people where I take my daughter (which is very often) some people my say they are expensive I reply with I want the best for my daughter, I want to be able to leave her and not worry about her and I want her to love going to school.. My daughter loves going to school. I would not go anywhere else. Oh,yeah the food (by Chef Carlos) is the great and I can tap in and watch her anywhere and anytime on my phone, iPad, computer....... Peace of mind. Thank you Kids R kids we thank and love you

I, like some others have expressed, am surprised by some of the very negative reviews. I will agree that I have not had the best interactions with one of the owners and havent necessarily felt that she has had any interest in getting to know me or my child, but the second owner, the director and the educational coordinator have all been fantastic. And just like in any organization, I am sure they all have different talents and strengths and the customer service piece might not be hers. But the remaining members of the staff more than make up for her focus on administrative tasks versus parent interaction. We have only been going for a little less than three months, but in that time both of the teachers in my daughters classroom (18-24 months) have remained constant. This had not been the case at the previous two daycare centers my child has attended (one in Michigan and the other in Matthews, NC). The turnover rate seems low in comparison to other options on the market. My child is a biter and the staff has been wonderfully reassuring in their willingness to work with her. I am kept in the communication loop and there has been no indication that she will be removed from the school. I would agree that there is a large amount of play time structured into the day but at 20 months, I dont think this is a bad thing at all. My child is smart and social and I am confident that she is learning a great deal during her time there each day.

Both of my children attend KrK and we love it! Our son has made leaps and bounds with meeting his milestones while there. The teachers are loving, kind and friendly. Our daughter attends before and after school and summer camp. She enjoys hanging out with her friends there. Also, she has a milk allergy and the chef has gone above and beyond making sure she has milk free foods to eat. Very thrilled about that! We also like the room cameras and being able to check in on the kids anytime we want. Very happy!!

Kids R Kids in Concord NC is an excellent choice for childcare and preschool. The owners work tirelessly to provide an exceptional environment of learning and care. As 2 working parents without a network of family in the area, we rely heavily on the support Marlene and Marty provide our family through this school. From infant to Pre-K and even after-school the teachers are professional, devoted and caring. The Kids R Kids curriculum helped prepare my son for Kindergarten and has continued as he attends now in the afternoons. If you are looking for a first-rate childcare center in this area you will not be disappointed.

The staff here is very professional yet warm and encouraging to all of the children. Our 5 yr old has been going here for 2 years and is very happy. He has learned a lot of skills that he had a hard time mastering at home. The biggest was potty training! It helped him learn to see other boys were doing it too.Recently my car wouldnt start upon leaving. The owner came out to help me when no one else would. He looked over the engine and saw the problem. He called the auto parts store nearby and asked a favor for them to come help me. He stayed with me until I found help getting home. He helped a big problem feel manageable.I highly recommend this daycare for your precious child as I would mine!

After reading reviews I have to say that I am taken aback about some parents reactions and slandering of individuals names. Being a former employee of KRK and working in this field for over 20 years, I have come across many different personalities through parents, children and staff and the one thing I ccd an always count on from my coworkers is their love and dedication to our students. I have worked with some pretty awesome ladies and Amy and Danielle are to name a few. I have worked with these ladies closely being the lead teacher in 150 and the level of care and concern for each child has been above and beyond. We all come across different personalities methods of teaching and learning and some we may not agree with but we differently do not take it out on the children we jump to find ways to make it an enjoyable experience for the parent and child and both these ladies has and have done that during my tenure there. Some parents come with the assumption that their child is the only child in the program or class and deserve all the attention and affection that they receive at home with their parents and in a perfect world that would be great but we try our very best even when we are not in or at our best to give that type of love and attention, Its disheartening to hear opinions and dismay towards under paid, lack of acknowledgments profession, its like being a parent without giving birth where we try to be accommodating and give our very best at all times and some like to just acknowledge negative hope that/those parent(s) found a facility they are comfortable with.

We have been very satisfied for the past 3 years with our kids here. The staff does an amazing job of communicating with parents on any facility updates, functions, fundraisers, etc. The teachers are caring and love what they do. No place is going to be perfect and accidents do happen. What always impresses us is that when anything happens to our kids (bumps and scrapes), we are notified thru phone call (or email if they cannot reach us) immediately. They are truly committed to giving kids the best experience that they can provide.

After reading some of the reviews I have to say I am floored at some of these comments. My children have been at this facility for 4 years and I am satisfied with the teachers, curriculum and the owners are wonderful. My kids have had very positive experiences with all of the teachers and they keep getting better as my youngest progresses. My 3 year old makes a point to hug Mrs. Marlene on the way out the door when she sees her. Every company and daycare in America has staff turnover so I wouldnt use that as your deciding factor to choose this facility. People grow, change and get more education and want to move on. My youngest learns Spanish words every week, takes music classes and knows much more at this age than my older children did from other facilities. My girls have never missed a splash pad day because the teachers didnt want to go outside. That is silly. These kids have a defined curriculum and I can see exactly what they do each day with their daily report and their verbal accounts. They also have a great camera system so you can peek in on them in the course of the day. Overall, I am giving them 5 stars. They have never given me a reason to give them anything less. My children will continue to go here until they age out or we move away.

My daughter has attended KRK Concord since she was an infant – she is now in the 400-level suites (highest in 500). We have particularly adored and appreciated several of the teachers – Ms. Lindsey (has since relocated) Ms. Natasha, and Ms. Shanna. One other quality of this school is that the owners are always onsite and have taken a high interest to reinvest in the school – operational and esthetically. I’m pleased with the curriculum and really like the weekly curriculum sheet that shares things to explore with the child and activities for the week. In addition, I appreciate the teachers who incorporate the lessons into home projects. Last, it’s nice to continue to see familiar faces on staff – as I understand this is a high turnover industry. I hope that the owners will continue to offer a competitive total compensation package that attracts and retains staff members who love to teach children and feel valued as an employee. Very last – I hope the owners will continue to promote great customer service – it’s always nice to see a smile from staff and engage in a short chat that shows they appreciate the individuality of each child/family! We appreciate the teachers!

I agree that the owners and staff are all excellent. There are various educational perks as well such as ASL, Spanish, daily art projects etc.My only issue comes from my LO being bitten. In the last year she has been bitten just under 10 times. We are only reassured that the child(ren) biting her are being watched, parents told about the incidents. I’m at a point of looking at inferior daycare options because I’m unsure of the safety of my child. I am not aware if this is a staffing issue where there may not be enough help supervising the classrooms or if this is an issue where this/these children are being allowed to stay there despite being regular offenders. I will be speaking with management tomorrow.

My 13-month old son was expelled from Kids R Kids due to biting. Kids R Kids stated that in four years of operation, four children have been expelled for biting. Thefive-star center I’m enrolling my son in now has been in business for >25 years and they have never dismissed a biter.I was happy with my son’s teachers during his first year there. However, I have significant problems with the administration, which includes the director and owner. Three weeks ago my son was sent home midday for biting. After initiating discussions with management about how we could try to solve this issue, I was told that they would contact a child consultant to come into the classroom to observe his environment/interactions and suggest solutions. Management never followed up with me to state that anyone came, and when I asked about it, was informed that the person came but didn’t have good feedback. Thus, the director decided to delete the email containing the feedback without sharing with me. When I questioned further, it became obvious that the director left out an important detail- the child consultant observed my son months ago in his PREVIOUS classroom, but not his current classroom. The problem with this is that his current environment is very different from the 6-12 month infant room (in current room there are more children, they are mobile, the classroom is set up differently, they have a more structured schedule, etc.). When I stated that I was frustrated because they were expelling my son and didn’t seem to be trying to help me find solutions such as bringing the observer in to his current classroom, I was told that the consultant wouldn’t come in a second time (I don’t believe this). The director knew this prior to our conversation three weeks ago when she said she would bring someone in, thus she lied to me. In summary, my primary frustration with Kids R Kids is the lack of feedback, guidance, empathy, and dishonesty regarding my son’s biting predicament. There is a lack of communication, and I would argue, poor communication, on the part of management. Messages are neither clearly nor confidently conveyed, and I do not feel supported as a parent. You would not be reading this post right now if they had simply shown compassion for my son and me and made a concerted effort to work with me. As I said, the teachers are great. If your child has no problems and you don’t have to work with the management staff, you should be fine.

The administration of KrK has now changed (which was badly needed a very long time ago!) Im in complete disbelief of the recent review where teachers were named and slandered. It contradicts all my experiences with the teachers.Edit 2: despite my experiences with the previous admin team and owners, I am happy to upgrade my rating of this facility. I actually use to work at this center. After seeing how this center runs on the inside, I would definitely steer clear! It has a high teacher turnover and teachers are too busy gossiping to teach the children. I taught 1 year olds and in the summer they never got to enjoy their water days because half the teachers did not want to go out with them. The older children did, but the toddlers...no! Safe, clean, friendly and accommodating. This is just the start of KRK Concord. I have never seen a daycare like it and I feel so lucky to have my baby girl enrolled here! I was upset to go back to work and even more apprehensive about leaving my 4 month old baby girl in daycare, BUT after dropping her off in the infant room at KRK Concord on that first day, I felt 100% comfortable and confident that she was getting the best of care. The staff and teachers are so kind and friendly. They communicate effectively with parents and they give the kids plenty of attention. They even eased her into a schedule which in turn helped us at home too- she eats better and sleeps better! The facility and classrooms are cleaner than my house would ever be (each parent is required to wash their hands and their childs hands upon arrival) and the rooms are huge. The curriculum, even for the infant room is amazing- so I know she is getting exposure to colors, music, sign language, Spanish and all sorts of toys/pictures. Lastly, the technology....having the cameras installed and being able to check in on my little one has been so fun- I feel like Im not missing out on her day. The app makes everything SO easy! I love getting the daily reports that tell me exactly when and how much she ate, slept, peed/pooped, etc. Its also nice to log in her last bottle/diaper from the house each morning or type any notes to the teachers- thats saved us a lot of time when dropping her off.KRK has been so wonderful to our little one and Im so grateful! The teachers take the best care of the kids and its made the transition back to work not only easy but enjoyable; I love sending her to KRK Concord.

I tried to get my foster son into this daycare. Ive heard wonderful reviews, I toured it, it was amazing! I was so excited that out of nowhere a spot for him opened up yesterday. I immediately went to secure it. DSS provides daycare vouchers for children in foster care. It doesnt always cover the total fees but it is a nice help. They only are provided if both parents work, for obvious reasons. Being Im now on a teachers schedule I do not go back to work until middle of August. BUT to get this spot Id have to enroll him Monday.DSS was so gracious to agree to start vouchers on August 1 and be billed separately for the last 2 weeks of July in order to ensure he got this spot. All they asked was if Kids R Kids could possibly delay his start date until August 1st, but if not, it wouldnt be an issue and he could still start on Monday. The very sweet lady that toured me, Michelle, stated she would ask the owner Marty. Here lies my hurt.Marty is explained the situation by Michelle. He turns to me and tells me you need to go home and see if you can afford daycare. I was taken back by this statement but thought maybe he misunderstood, so I explained the situation again. He once again told me to go home to see if I could even afford for him to attend. I assured him we were fully capable of affording this daycare and with or without DSS vouchers I would start him Monday to hold the spot even though I dont technically need a daycare for another month. Once again I explained why I was asking, as foster care is in the mix. He again tells me to what youre asking is very unfair being you dont even know if you can afford daycare. Go home and work on your finances. At that point I gave up our coveted infant spot to this elite daycare. Might I add we were standing in the front desk, around every parent that was coming to pick their child up at peak pick up time where they could all hear.I have never been so embarrassed or disrespected. Even if I could not afford daycare, how dare he say what he said where he said it. We are on vouchers so my child isnt good enough for your daycare?!?? There are numerous children at this daycare on vouchers, some due to foster care, some not. Needless to say, Im glad to see this side of him prior to enrolling my son.My husband called to speak with him about the situation which he refused to speak with him or meet with him in person. Im very thankful to have learned his true colors prior to placing my child her and financing his discriminatory attitude

We LOVE KrK in Concord! We have two sons and they both started in the infant room and are still attending. Our littlest just turned 3 and our oldest just turned 5.For infants and early toddlers, expect your input to be a heavy influence for the teachers – and don’t expect the teachers to be spoilers of big milestones… never did a teacher say, “What a great day! Your son took his first step!” Which is really nice, since my husband and I have full time jobs and most of our time with the kids is at night and on the weekend. They let us discover the moments on our own.For toddlers, they help to set a consistent potty training pattern that we could reinforce at home. Their daily report cards even tracks potty progress, so you know how things are progressing and when to celebrate going to pull-ups and to big-kid underwear. For toddlers, they also encourage each little person to develop their own voice, independence – which is a big feat as terrible 2s can come with some tantrums. They also work on letter and shape concepts. Just today, while washing his hands, my 3 years pointed to a shape on the wall and said, “That’s a hexagon!”For pre-K, we couldn’t be happier. We looked into starting the 4 y/o program at the private school down the street (those in Concord know the school), but the KrK pre-K curriculum was very comparable from reading, writing, concept and math perspective. Our son is writing, doing early math, patterns, Spanish, knows his letters and phonics, working on site words, can count well beyond 25, and so much more. His teacher has held a mid-year parent-teacher conference with us with samples of his work. In a nutshell, he is well prepared for kindergarten – if not overly prepared. The administrative staff has changed from when we started there 5 years ago. We were not a fan of the old director, but choose KrK because of its baby room – size, play equipment, and routine. Shortly after our son was in the baby room, the old director left and the new director started. She has done a remarkable job with developing her new admin staff that know every child’s name (and background) and moving technology into the school. She is also caring and open to comments and concerns that you may have. The owners are very hands-on and frequently one if not both are on-site, and equally open to discussing anything on our minds. One is even a nurse, so as boo-boos have come-up she has been able to quickly triage, which is nice. Our three y/o got stung by a bee while playing outside and she was able to quickly look at the sting and gave me several call on it to discuss the situation along with treatment as well sent me a photo while at work, so I could see.We have had a great experience at KrK of Concord, and would highly recommend this school to everyone.
