My husband and two daughters (10 and 5) have been training with Sensei Melanie for just over a month now, and man, do they love it! We had been searching for a dojo where the girls could train together with their dad (who has wanted to get back into tae kwon do), and close friends of ours recommended KICKS. I called Sensei Melanie on a Saturday and was delighted to learn she offers private classes for families. We tried a free lesson and immediately signed up afterward. 5 weeks and their first yellow stripe in, my girls are building confidence while learning valuable physical, mental and emotional skills. Sensei Melanie is smart, tough, intuitive and full of wit, making her teaching style perfect for motivating two young girls to step outside their comfort zone. We feel safe and comfortable in her dojo, which follows all the COVID-19 safety protocols, including wearing masks during lessons. Its been a terrific experience so far!

The unprofessionalism is an understatement. The sensei scheduled two classes on the same days and times, charged for the uniforms to later kick 35 students out of her facility 4 weeks later... Never did she try to work out a feasible schedule for the kids instead she cold heartedly kicked them out! The kids couldn’t drink water from HER water machine and even less use her cups for water... You decide if you want your child to be treated as such, the decision is yours...

Giving 1 star is actually still to much. The owner/instructor at this facility was down right rude unprofessional. With our previous Martial location closing, this owener agree to allow our instructor to use are facility with allocated times and days for 37-37 of his student that followed him. Unfortunately, that didnt work out. We didnt have the mat alone, we have to share with upwards of 10-15 students using half the mat. She also accused oir kids of breaking her water fountain, the kids wasnt even in attendance on that day she claimed we broke it. When a parent brought water for everyone, she had a problem with that. She also berated our instructor to the parents of her students. We had to buy shirts just for her to end the agreement after only 12 lessons. The whole mood made each of us uncomfortable and the micro management was a problem in and of itself. She should have never agreed to anything if having us therr was going to be a henderence to her.

Instructors Guillermo is the best.!!...great place, clean, professional and most of all my Son loves it.

The owner charged for a uniform and now she cancel Guillermo group, this being a waste of time and money 😡😡😡😡

Great experience. We love the instructor sensei Mel is fantastic.

This lady is not a professional, she took advantage of 35 students by buying uniforms and the following month she simply canceled the agreement she had with the instructor Guillermo, leaving these 35 children out of the academy, but she had sold 35 uniforms and only allowed less than 12 classes to these students !!!

Melanie is great with kids. This is a fun and disciplined environment for the little ones.
