When we joined I was confused for months about the program, when testing happens, what tests were done and how they work.. Joe did not explain everything clearly when we joined.3. When the time came for testing for stripes or new belts he informed me itll be extra. I was confused and upset since that was never mentioned at time of joining. I kept asking about that and then he said Im not getting charged extra..4. Also, when you sign up for the program you have to pay for 6 months in advance. What company asks for all that money ahead of time? My family has a business and we never ask for money ahead of time.. I understand paying for a month in advance-- I do that with my cable, phone, internet.. it guarantees Ill have service that month but 6 months in advance???5. Since I couldnt afford the tuition upfront for 2 kids for 6 months he told me itll be financed by a 3rd party.. then I read the small print and saw that its at over 9% per MONTH interest charge. I agreed to do it but still was confused about what was going on. Im not the only one that is confused. Most parents I spoke to didnt know what was going on. One parent was shocked that he was charged this fee.. he said he knew nothing about it.6. Facility is not as clean as promised by the owners review... Theres always hair and dirt on the mat, the bathroom that is also the changing room smells like urine and never has paper towels or soap. Its quiet disturbing. My kids wore socks during their lessons because Im concerned they will get a toe infection-- there was a kid that lost his toe nail during the lesson and others have vomited.. how do they clean the mats? I asked and was told it gets a sweep occasionally.. GROSS!Final impressions: this is a very commercial business model that is focused on getting people in the door getting paid 6 months upfront and youre left confused and robbed.. I thought it would be more of a family feel but its not. my children did love Joe he was good with the little ones.Things to change:1. hires someone to properly clean your facility every once in awhile. I offered Joe for $20 a week to take care of his soap needs, install a proper air freshener and to properly clean and sanitize his porcelain fixtures but he said it was too expensive for all the owners... And premier charging me an extra $20 a month in interest was not too expensive?? when I complained about it they said its not that much money..2. be flexible with your contract.. I know several families that left because you refused to go month-to-month with them.3. Frank--customer is always right. Dont ever argue. Suck it up, apologize and fix it.4. You need to have discounts for the two weeks out of the year that youre closed. I dont understand why everybody has to pay full price for a month when they will not get all their lessons.5. Make it more of a family environment instead of another commercial business where you herd people in and out.Thanks for reading!

My daughter won a birthday party at Premier Martial arts! It was fantastic!!! My kids and their friends are still raving about it!! The teachers were so engaging and wonderful with the kids!! I can’t say enough good things about the staff!!

Ive been learning martial arts at Premier Martial Arts since 2016 and Im just loving it every class! My daughter is learning martial arts at this place since 2017 and shes loving it too! A great place to train, work on your fitness, develop excellent relationships and just have fun while sweating it out. The instructors have been flexible, understand our personal needs and body type and are willing to collaborate closely on this exciting journey called black belt excellence! My daughter walked in nearly 3 years ago shy and reserved and has blossomed into a self-assured, strong 9 year old. I could not be happier with the skill, coordination, coordination and discipline Premier has provided, and continues to provide, her with. I would definitely recommend them to any parent whose child is interested in karate. It’s so much more than just physical training!

Had my sons birthday party today and it was a great experience. Joe and his guys are girls did a fantastic job with all the kids. They had incorporated exercises with fun and compition. Joe remembered all the kids names ( 14 of them ) right from the start. Everyone had a great time start to finish. Everyone was helpful from encouraging all the kids to complete the competitions to getting extra seating for the kids to excavation of dinosaur fossils on the floor. A great experience and highly recommended for anyone thinking of a birthday party that is more than cake and ice cream.

Today there are many reasons to want our children to know self defense, as well as understanding that along with that goes discipline and hard work. Joe and his staff have been great with my grandchildren, a boy and a girl in understanding and incorporating these in their daily life. The kids love going to class, which is the hard work I mentioned above. But because the staff is so dedicated, it does not always feel like work. Keep up the good work PMA!!

I have attended Traditional Martial Arts for over six years. My six year old son now trains there as well. The instructors are excellent, and have decades of experience between them. I especially appreciate the way they teach the children. They manage to keep the classes fun while also teaching the children how to defend themselves. On a personal level, I have found the adult classes to be a great way to get in shape and relieve stress. The instructors are kind, educated on their skill and take pride in what they do. It is a very safe and comfortable atmosphere to be in. The school is clean and well kept. I continue to refer both family and friends to this establishment. The only competition here is with yourself. They encourage you to stick with it to be the best version of you.

Please dont trust these people. They talk very nice & they will make you sign the contract. They are money sucking people. Many hidden charges. Place is very tight. Some classes have 30 students also in that small place in Cranston. Accidents can happen. Please protect your children.

I have put 2 of my children through this school and couldntc be happier. Owners and all instructors have been fantastic. We appreciated all the time Joe spent with us to make sure we knew about how the payments work and the additional costs of belt and stripe tests. I had looked at all different schools and felt this was the best fit as far as instruction, culture and quality of instructors. If you stick to the program they offer they will learn what you have paid for and you will see a difference in the attitude of your children.Keep up the good work and thanks for all the extra things you offer for parents night out for a parent with multiple kids we enjoy a date night together when you offer these nights. Our kids are with the Traditional Martial for the past few years and they enjoy it thoroughly. As a parent I like the structure and the schedule is flexible. The teachers are great and thats one reason i believe we are able to continue for over a period of time. Its almost like a family now. Sparring class is great and the special attention to kids based on skill level and their learning ability made it easy for my kids to love Karate. I cannot think of a better place than Traditional Martial Arts for my kids.

My sons has been coming to his karate school for the past six years and I would not change it for the world. It is a great school very family friendly and the instructors are very knowledgeable, patient, and great teachers as we all know kids learn in all sorts of ways and they do a great job with each child. Truly recommend it to anybody.

Amazing school with top notched instructors. You will not find kids teaching kids here. Each of the Sensai’s are well versed in the art and are true gentlemen. The lessons my daughter learned here will follow her for the rest of her life and I am very proud to be considered a part of their karate family.

This is the best martial arts school by far. From the 1st time you enter the school you are treated like you are there number one priority. All the PMA instructors have a wealth of knowledge in their craft and are extremely nurturing when they need to be. If you are looking for a school for your children this is it. Both my children attend PMA and I could not be any happier with the school.

My daughter was introduced through a after school program in February of 2018 and she gained a wonderful interest. We signed up for classes and she has progressed in the black belt training to the rank of blue belt. Her confidence, physical ability, mental focus and enthusiasm to achieve goals has gone beyond the dojo into home and school. She was recently asked to join the demo team for Cranston. Now she gets to perform at events and show off how awesome this program is. Both my wife and I agree that this is something that will benefit her in the future. I look forward to watching her succeed and participate with her. I highly recommend the Premier Martial Arts dojo. Great for the kids and for the parents. Our second home.

We enjoyed my sons birthday celebration at TMARI. The kids had a great time playing games and trying out karate moves.My son was clad in an honorary black belt, broke a board for all the guests to see, and cut the cake with a real sword with the help of my husband. Great birthday party 🎉!

My three kids and I go to Premier MA and we LOVE it! All the instructors are amazing, caring, and loving people. They even work privately with my 8 year old son who has cancer to help keep his strength up. They go out of their way to make everyone feel encouraged and part of the PMA family. Classes are structured and use a great curriculum, and all the Senseis are well rounded martial artists, with years of experience, and excellent teachers. We feel blessed to be apart of the PMA Cranston/North Kingstown family.

My son started a year ago at the North Kingstown site. All of the instructors have been amazing. They are undertanding of what each child needs in order to feel confident and grow. Absolutely the best school professional caring and the knowledge you receive is top notch.Discipline and confidence is instilled in the kids, but most importantly with the different kids and their personalities they have a lot of patience when teaching. I have 3 kids currently enrolled at TMARI. The instructors are very caring, thorough and PATIENT! The children are not only learning self control and confidence but they are learning to teach as they go. The older kids are often recruited to assist the senior instructors in the beginner classes. This is a great family environment!

This school has been a very big help in making me feel welcomed and a part of. I needed this. I had a long run with serious health conditions. 8 year fight with stage 4 metastatic melanoma and brain cancer. I have rhabdomyolysis which is when muscle tissues deteriorate and can destroy the kidneys and leave a person on dialysis for life if they survive it. I say this because I have only been in remission about 18 months and recently started martial arts training again because I love it and I am glad I picked this school. They work with me even though I am obviously different then most Krav Maga students would be health wise. They show care and give me the room to get by but at the same time the teachers do not just let me not do the proper training because of those health issues. They motivate me each class. They make me feel good about the effort I put in and this makes me want to do more and be better . I want to make my teachers proud theyre helping me achieve what I came here for. This breeds a cycle of positive attitudes and commitment to be better each day. I think whether you yourself want to study Krav Maga or would like to train your children to protect themselves and learn to follow a great path this is a wonderful place to do it

Before my oldest daughter began karate she was very shy and always unsure of herself. Since beginning her journey with TMARI she has come out of her shell and gained confidence in herself in karate and school. Having Gabby join this family was the best decision we made.

Very nice place for the kids my daughter who has arthritis did not like doin her exercise at home because it was boring in her words an she was also being bullied at school so I enrolled her an my son into the martial arts classes and its be great ever since .my daughters legs are much stronger and she also is enjoying every minute of it .the staff are awesome

Premier Martial Arts lives up to its name. It is THE premier martial arts dojo in the area. Not only do the instructors have a wealth of knowledge in their craft, but their instructors are easily able to differentiate their instruction to the developmental level of their students. My son recently achieved his black belt with PMA after 4.5 years of training and is now a part of the Black Belt Leadership Program. My daughter has been training with them for 3.5 years and is a STRONG and confident 6.5 year old who I know will reach Black Belt as well. At this point, they are like family to us!

Exceptional family atmosphere with a pure focus on real learning with real skills. No McDojo here!The staff here are so good with the younger children and yet they are able to balance their gentle hand with good old fashioned discipline and it really has earned the childrens respect. Even the teenagers. Sensei Frank and Sensei Matt are tough, seasoned Martial Artists trained in Traditional Shotokan Karate so the older students really get a serious workout with real skills and nothing superficial or cockamamie.There are few Martial Arts Schools of this caliber in the United States. I know, I have been in most of them. I highly recommend this school for everyone.
