Graduated in 2007. I spent three amazing years at this school. Bending Oaks fosters an adaptive learning environment that any student could benefit greatly from. The music/band and art classes were exceptional and made memories that reached beyond the classroom. The teachers and staff are professional would be an understatement. They inspire learning and growth and share knowledge, rather than teaching AT you. The atmosphere at Bending Oaks is best described as Happy. The small class size ensured that everyone had the opportunity to get the most out of class time. This school prepared me for life after highschool. Thanks Bending Oaks!

I love Bending Oaks. We moved our daughter from a large suburban school to Bending Oaks. She could not handle the class size or pressure of the large schools. Bending Oaks has a laid back atmosphere and small classes that made a huge difference for us. However, do not confuse laid back with easy. Our child did work for her grades at Bending Oaks. In fact, in some of her classes the more individualized attention required more work because more was expected. But she was able to succeed because the learning atmosphere was more conducive to her style. In fact, she is a 2014 graduate with awesome grades. I doubt shed be graduating if we had kept her where she was.

My son started Bending Oaks mid year this year. After many years of successful home schooling he decided half way through the freshman year of high school that he had no interest in learning from mom and there was nothing we could do about it.Bending Oaks has turned that around and he is back to loving school and telling us some cool stories at home about what he learned. The teachers are doing a nice job of keeping him engaged and with luck that will translate into some life-long learning habits. We plan to continue at Bending Oaks for his remaining three years of high-school.

Love this school! Small, interactive classes are beneficial for all students. Bright, interested, and caring staff listen to both students and parents and search for approaches that best fit each students learning style. My child has attended Bending Oaks for two years. She went from dreading school to loving it and even misses it in the summer. ADD, learning disability, anxiety issues, social issues, quirky, or just needing a change, Bending Oaks is the place for you.

Our son has been here for 3 wonderful years. The teachers really know how to connect with their students. The small class size is perfect for ADD - inattentive students. Great having Beth to connect with the students, also.

Our son went to another school locally that bills itself as a school for kids with learning differences but ended up completely dissatisfied with them. After searching we found Bending Oaks and it has been a wonderful fit for him.His grades, which had been Cs and Ds before suddenly turned into As and Bs. We are Bending Oaks true believers!

My son has attended BOHS for the last five years; and we cant say enough wonderful things about the experience. Nathan has had the opportunity to learn in a setting that is both comfortable and challenging. The kids I know that go to traditional high schools feel trapped by uncaring teachers, prison-like environments and unexciting curriculum. Bending Oaks is a breath of fresh air. Nathan enjoys the classes, the teachers and the feeling of belonging. His grades are great, hes attending community college for duel credit, and will be going to college in the fall. (He was accepted to every college to which he applied). At Bending Oaks kids have the freedom to be who they want to be. They finish high school confident and prepared for the next step in their lives. Check it out.

I am a former student at Bending Oaks. While its been a few years since my attendance, I can say with confidence that the learning experience is like none other in our metroplex. I have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and traditional classroom structure and curriculum were not the best fit for me as well as large class sizes made it difficult for me to get the education i needed without accommodations that inevitably outed me to my peers and added to my anxiety about being different. Ande and Doug McNamara were the owners and principal/vice principals at the time of my attendance and were always available and helpful not only to my parents but to me as a student when I needed assistance with classroom issues or even guidance. The class sizes were small enough where I could thrive and receive more one on one attention from my teachers. The photography program was also very cool and something I didnt have an option to do at my previous school. Each well vetted teacher was highly invested in seeing their students thrive and I feel I learned more during the two years I was there than I had in any of my previous years at public school. This unique educational environment set me up for success and I am forever grateful for the opportunities I received at Bending Oaks.
