One of the greatest experiences Ive had in a while.The one school that helped me find myself. To be going back is just another blessing.

Hi I am a 27 year old first time student I have never been to Mountain View I have never been to college I had a first time meeting with my student advisor for the welding trade and I was told that I cannot see him due to common allergies this is a very unwelcome mean feeling that because of it being my first time at the school I feel more comfortable meeting someone in person so I can fully understand my curriculum in he cannot meet with me or she cannot meet with me because of a runny nose not that I was experiencing any symptoms at the moment but I went forward as to tell the clerk that I have been tested I have my results if there is anything that I need to do to meet with the guy in person that would make me feel more comfortable he then called the advisor in which I was told by the assistant at the front earlier that I was his last appointment he did not pick up the phone and I am guessing send a signal to the assistant that I would have to repeat this process this wouldnt be a problem if I was not working if I was staying with other individuals but because I work for a living this is very inconvenient for a first-time student whats even more disturbing is that I took off work call in advance to go all the way to the college to be told we cant see you in my heart I feel like maybe someone should have said that over the phone

Completed my Associates at Mountain View College and I’ve always loved this place. This institution is simply beautiful.

They no longer are doing COVID test at this location. Everywhere online and on the Citys website shows that they are still testing. I was told they stopped in May 2021.

This is not review its just a few questions. Im curious about the nursing program the college provides, Im planning on being a neonatologist in the future and I want to go to this college , but im not sure if it provides the right classes/programs to become a neonatologist. It would mean a lot if I got a reply.

I taught 3 courses at this college and I enjoyed everything except my boss. I quit after about 6 months. I was pretty much told to give away passing grades to EVERYBODY. I didnt know what to do, I worked for my degrees so I got the hell outta there.

Ive been coming here for a while and I really like it. Works great with my work schedule and the teachers are great. For the most part, the kids that come here seem like they want to learn. Of course its a little more crowded in the beginning of the semester but gets less crowded as the semester continues. Overall, not a bad place to get a college education. :)

The professors seem to genuinely care about the students. I always received any help that I needed and the staff is very friendly.

Honestly whoever hires people here does an awful job.The staff in this school even the professors. Are awful!!!! They’re lazy with an attitude. This school will just take your money.Schools are there to help achieve your goals and prepare you. This school is the opposite.Advisors are useless!!!!!!! The deans are just as useless!!!! The counselors are so unhelpful and RUDE!!!The professors are just there to give you a hard time. I had a professor who even said “I enjoy giving students are hard time. Because it’s funny.”I have special needs and this school didn’t help with that so I had to just transfer to Brookhaven who actually wanted to help me.Don’t come here. Everyone has the right to complain about this school. I know people that hate this school with passion because of how unhelpful they are. You’re better off at SERIOUSLY ANY OTHER COMMUNITY COLLEGE THAN HERE!!!!

This school is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life, Mr. Hall is an awesome advisor he helped me get back on track with school, I love being apart of trio. We do all type of fun activities and not to mention the advisors help you graduate and make sure you’re doing well in all your classes. They offer tutoring if needed. Anytime they’re having a special event they shower us with food, games and prizes. The professors are great and you’re allowed to pick which teacher you want if you have a preference. You’re totally in control here but they have your back at the same time, they won’t steer you wrong! :))))))

Professor Alonso is one of the best English teachers i have ever had here in Tx. Very good teachers and friendly staff. I Toke advance English levels here and all the classes were just gr8. The complex is very good.

MVC is pretty bad as far as veteran services go. Absolutely 0 help, they dont listen and talk over you. I already have a degree, I just needed some info on something these people should be well informed about. Dont go here if youre a veteran, you wait forever for pointless help. Go to North lake, 100x better and professional.Side note- The guy in the back(forgot your name) hes on point if you get a chance to speak with him...

Graduated with A.A. degree in 1979. The teachers were great! I gave birth to two of my children while attending night school. Fortunately, I didnt go into labor during classes.

I started at MVC taking ESOL classes for 18 months, took two years of college classes and graduated from MVC with an Associates in Science degree. Thanks to it, I got a fulbright scholarship from TCU, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree on Fall 2019. I love MVC!

If youre looking for something to get done in a month or less, do not go here if youre not already in the system go to another dcccd school. The slowest staff ever (teachers seem good from the reviews). Called them 7 times and it took them 3 weeks and they still didnt fix the problem. Even the econnect man said theyre inconsiderate. And I dont know why theyre in the comments apologizing, people have been complaining for years it seems ... I guess its protocol.

I recently went back to school and I havent had a bad experience with the teachers or advisors. However the semester has been over for two weeks and my grade for one of my classes hasnt been posted. I have tried to communicated with the professor and no answer. Ive called and have gotten three different numbers to the department. Ive talked to a lady name Joyce who said would contact the professor and have him post the grade since it was due on December 17, its now December 28. I havent gotten a follow up, Ive tried to reach them and no answer. Theres been no sense of urgency and Im left in the unknown. I plan to visit the campus next week, maybe that would speed things up. Im in a reimbursing program at work which I now dont meet the deadline and have to wait until next year because of the unprofessionalism with the school. Im not happy at all, I had a great experience coming back to school and now Im left with a very bad impression of how this school is running things.

Most faculty do not care or pay attention. In person you might be able to get help from a few of the people that actually do their job, they are few but they are very nice. However the vast majority will be no help. If you want assistance, make sure you seek it personally. Phone calls will be ignored, and online services are not fully useful.

The registrars office rarely ever answers my calls and when they do better believe that I am on hold for a good 15 minutes! They either need to hire more staff or the staff working there needs to seriously get their stuff together. Some of them are extremely rude! I dont have time to put up with people like that. I am currently a college student and I have way more important things to worry about such as FINALS than to deal with these incompetent people!

The advising/ cashier /bookstore/ testing center are rude. Let’s just put it this way if your a new student you are going to get the run arounds. I’ve seen some f**** up situations where the staff are rude to new students & I have stepped in so many times because I as well got the special treatment coming in at first. As a staff member You are suppose to make new students feel welcomed, not guilty or make them feel wrong for asking any questions. I put my foot down.I attended 2 years with this school and im transferring ✌🏽I posted a review 3years ago and it was deleted.

I honestly don’t understand the bad reviews here. I recently got enrolled into MVC and it has been by far the best experience I’ve ever had with a school. Everyone knows exactly what to do and points you into the right direction. I got enrolled last minute but still got two of the pre classes I needed. The professors are really very nice and care about their students. The staff in general is super helpful and the campus is beautiful and in a very nice area.I am looking forward to getting the education I want at a reasonable price.

TRANSIENT STUDENTS BEWARE! Im disappointed in the lack of professionalism here. I was notified 5 hours before the college closed on the last day to register for class that the online class I registered for was canceled. Being a transient student, I had holds that needed to be manually overridden to enroll into another course. Upon calling and explaining to the staff of my situation I was put on a waitlist. They called me back the next day unable to do anything... The staff here do not respond in a timely manner nor care to give at least a 24 hour notice on any major decision that affects the student. I would look elsewhere if your looking to take a class to transfer the credit.

No one ever answers the phone in either admissions , financial aid or in general. Voicemails arent returned until like days later possibly a week out. Finally just went in person and didnt get much help. Basically your on your own always being referred to their website to answer questions. You would figure they would want to assign you someone to specifically help guide you. improve your college to make it easier for those enrolling for the first time. I am not sure I want to continue trying to enroll here.

The school is not Special Need Student friendly. The professors are horrible in dealing with special need students.All other schools that many of our childs friends attend are great. Unfortunately, they are not in our area.Mountain View need a complete overall of its program.

Absolutely worst customer/student services. I cant tell you how many hours Ive wasted trying to contact this institution by phone. No one ever answers, you randomly get hung up on, or get to an answering machine. Dont bother to leave a message because they wont return your call. I cant imagine actually being a full time student there because this has been my case when Ive just taken two courses. GOOD LUCK and prepare lots of Advil for the headaches they will cause you

This schools faculty is very unprofessional. The financial aid office attendants were rude, and spoke very condescending. The people at the front desk are also very rude and provided no help for locating offices. And the advisory center is a complete waste of time. The advisor I was assigned to was EXTREMELY rude on MULTIPLE occasions. When I asked to be assigned another I got harassed with phone calls about filing a complaint. I just wanted a different advisor. Now I still get emails from this advior asking me to meet with them. And the financial aid process is very slow.This school is okay at getting your basics done. But do expect that youll be figuring out most things on your own. Asking for help is more trouble than its worth.EDIT 2019: Id also like to mention that the teachers here are equally bad. Not all of them, but most. Please use rate my professor find teachers and teaching styles that benefit you. This is your education, make the most of it. This school is NOT looking out for your educational needs. Each semester I find myself having to file a complaint against a teacher to the dean or hear stories of other students outright crying because of unreasonable teachers and them also having to report it to the dean. If anything find other students and youll find the most beneficial answers there. Good luck to your studies.Also note worthy, at my time here Ive seen staff bark directions at special needs people.In addition, I was told an anecdote about how a professor there told a handicapped student if they didnt make it to class they would receive a failing grade for attendance. This person was wheelchair bound and the evaluators were down. Their class was on the highest level in I believe the w-building . What kind of staff member tells a student this to make them feel better about a teacher treating people poorly. Their response to this was I told you this to remind you that people arent fair. Its just the way it is.

Worst experience Ive ever had with a school. I wanted to drop a class and they said not until I turned in every single transcript from previous schools. Mind you Ive graduated and received multiple degrees and was only going to this school for fun to learn Spanish. I dont even have access online to go back and order transcripts without playing phone tag with people. The lady hung up on me , the said she didnt when I called back. The next day I was promised a call back but instead received an email saying she tried to call which I think is a complete lie. I am so disappointed by this school. I have never spoke with such rude people at an educational institution. Please stay away from this school! They are plenty of other schools in the ddcc schools.

My favorite place.

One of the worst school I have ever came across my whole life! Administration office faculty show little or no real care for the success of theyre students. There are four admission windows available and only one is open. On another note, I requested to have my transcript sent to my four-year university and they NEVER did. In a perfect world it takes about 2-4 weeks to update. Since I, MYSELF, had to take it up to the school I have to yet wait another 2-4 weeks. which leaves me behind.

The young hispanic Admission ladies are lazy and dont do their job. When I turned in all paper work and transcripts, the admissions lady never sent an email for my transcript to be evaluated so I waited several weeks before I went and asked why I havent received my fafsa award letter. I was then informed by the financial aid people that my transcript had to be evaluated so she sent the email herself because the admissions didnt do it like they were supposed to.

Do not waste your time or money here, worst school..they dont care about your best interest they only care about money, and they are rude. they will make you take everything to benefit them not you. waste of time

Mountain view college is a joke!! The school and staff are people who obviously hate their jobs. Especially the woman who work at the cashiers office. The old white lady that works in the cashiers office had the nerve to scream at me and then claim it was due to the fact that her microphone was off. How can you call yourself a community college when you have no interest in the community what so ever! All you care about is the communities money. Im literally to the point to where if necessary I will record and take it to the media to expose this school.

I wouldn’t even give this school a star. They tell me last minute im selected for verification , no one answers the phone, going in, in person the staff is friendly but everyone is telling you different information. No one is on the same page it is very confusing and stressful. And also they just throw you in any available class they do not asks your interest they just put you where they can fit you. Very unprofessional. I might just stop trying to register here smh.Update: 2 months later I’ve had to register for flex classes because they dropped me from all of my 16 week classes after I repeatedly asked them to keep them on hold also after they told me they be checking on my financial aid status. I had to take out a student loan in order to get my books for the classes im starting now because i have to wait until the middle of march to get my financial aid refund. I’ve called the financial aid office plenty of times while accepting the loan that was supposed to be disbursed today, I’ve done the counseling and promisary note and have been waiting for today for two weeks only to be told there’s a “glitch” it says I haven’t accepted my loans and i need to come in and get it fixed. I shouldn’t have to go up to the school every time something “ glitches” in the financial aid office also this should have been communicated to me before, which really leads me to believe they don’t care about my schooling here. This is ridiculous, and I am going to file a district complaint.

Mountain View College should be embarrassed by the amount of incompetence and unprofessionalism Ive encountered during my interactions with the school. As a Texas CPA exam candidate I called several weeks ago inquiring about what I needed to do to be able to enroll in the MVC CPA program to which I was told to register for classes in person at the admissions desk with ZERO additional information given. I then drove 2 hours and waited for 3 hrs in line only to be told that although I had applied, been accepted, and submitted my transcripts I needed to talk to the CPA program director in order to be accepted in that program before admissions could do anything. Admissions then told me that the program I needed to speak with closed at 5pm, it was 5:08pm when I was told this. They then gave me a phone number to call, call this number and theyll be able to accept you and get you all registered. So I call today and they tell me that theres an application I needed to fill out to join the MVC CPA program WHICH I WAS NEVER TOLD ABOUT WHEN I ORIGINALLY CALLED WEEKS AGO!!!! Furthermore she then tells me that although I can fill out the application and will be accepted that I wont be able to register until spring. So because your staff is uniformed and incompetent I now have to wait a full semester to be able to complete a few classes I know I can ace. How is that fair?

I completed the last class in my degree plan 3 months ago and have yet to receive my diploma. When you call to speak to someone about it, it’s like calling the DMV. That is no way to run a business. College students beware you are at the mercy of folks that could care less.

Student life is super involved and the staff is really helpful.

This place makes it beyond difficult to graduate with your associates. They lack classes (especially traditional ones) and most of the classes they do have are reserved for high school dual credit students ONLY. So its practically a fight to the death for the few remaining classes. There is constantly a different reason why they wont let you register for classes on time by the way. This place is out of control.

Worst school ever!!! Everyone seems like they plain out hate their jobs, so rude and unprofessional! Admission office does not know how to do their job correctly. They put in my social wrong, which I dont understand when its right in front of them. Not only that but it delayed me from receiving credit from FASFA. Then they LOST MY FASFA INFO IN THEIR SYSTEM they said it hasnt shown up.. I have the confirmation number of my fasfa and all the information, but they wont take it because it is not showing up on their system. Way to make school harder to enroll, I probably came up to the school over the summer about 20x now just for the same crap! Im so done and over this school... Way to support your students mountain view.

Its unfortunate all these people have bad experiences, but I have had nothing but GREAT experiences here! This is my 5th semester at MVC. When I first came to this school August 2015 I couldnt stop telling all my friends about how this school feels different from El Centro or Eastfield. The professors Ive come across at MVC will and have gone out of their way to help me succeed. The numerous times Ive gone to see an advisor theyve always made sure my questions were answered, I got all the help I needed, and made sure I was in the right path. The only issue Ive ever had was with the woman that oversees the testing center, she has a little bit of an attitude problem, but everyone else there is nice. Ive never had an issue with admissions, registration, financial aid, parking, testing, nothing.

They dont even help you when you call them. I was simply asking how to get a school tuition form and they clicked on me three times! they are so unprofessional.

This school is garbage & steals your money. If you wana waste your time and funds (student loans or G.I.Bill) studying a dead end like music or dance or art they can & will but god help you if you wanna study something that can change the world. They only offer the good classes to the high school dual credit babies. Get used to sitting in traffic for hours going to eastfield or north-lake if you want to take any tech classes. Mointainview only concerns themselves with being a highschool now. If your nuts have dropped then your on your own...unless you enjoy useless classes in dying career fields.If I have to drive to las colinas or Mesquite; it defeats the purpose of a community college. TOP NOTCH welding and smithing courses - Dewayne Roy (head of the department) is the AWS head of Texas (or something like that - if he still is - he was when I was there).

They are pretty easy to work with and a lot of class times.

I just got two emails saying my classes has not been paid for my class was suppose to be paid by 8/3/16 now they saying they going to drop my class when i got finical aid and i have accepted my award and my finical aid is there my class dont start till october 24th and they dropped my class because it has not been paid for.

The teacher certification program is mediocre at best. They dont help you at all w job placement, but expect a lot in return.

Scam central. The aviation department is a joke.The instructors do not care one bit about making pilots.They cannot even provide accurate information in the class syllabus that does not contradict.

My cousin went to mountain view college for like 2 years after he went to Irving high school for 4 years but I am gonna go to Mountain View College after I graduate from Cedar Hill High School when I am doing part time job and college when I am 18 or 19 as a young adult to help save up my money to get a lots of cash for my Associates degree at this school
