When I went here in 1970, it was the best school in Dallas. The teachers and staff were great. I took Drivers Education here and my driving instructor was a DOLL! I had a fantastic time going here.

Lake Highlands High School produced many amazing graduates. They are especially Merton Hanks, Phil Dawson and Warren Carter!

Nothing like having to deal with the beurocracy of the school administrators and counselors! Gotta love giving up al personal autonomy just to go to this terrible school. 1/5

UPDATE: after many calls and emails to everyone, I think the problem solved for now. I own a property in the Windtree Condominium on the other side of the Dart Rail line next to this school, ever school day we have a herd of juvenile delinquents climbing fences crossing the DART Rail and kicking down the fence next to Windtree Condominiums. I wonder when one of the students get hit by the Dart Rail train will the school, Dart or the city of Dallas will fix this problem.

I dont like this scholl at all they faculty are dishonest. My child had a court date about truancy. I send my child to.school everyday he even likes to go. But they said he missed 17 days of school. So i emailed all his teachers. I wanted them to tell me of his attendance, only two replied back. Stating that hes always in their classroom on time. Now for the ones that never emailed me back. My son took a note to school for them. They never replied back. So moving on,a student threw hand sanitizer in my son eyes. So he hit him with a chair. They sent my son home for 3 days and when he returned to school he was placed in iss. Then they moved him to the alternative school. The kid that threw the hand sanitizer only got sent home for 3 days. And that no good Mr.Parker isnt good for nothing. He sits up in your face and try to talk a good game. I can read his a**. I know he dont like my son which is cool because I dont care for him. I told him that if anyone else put their hands on my child I hope he beat their brains out. Kids should be able to defend themselves. If it was me I wouldve beaten him til I saw blood. Overall the school sucks big time

Disorganized system the students only have 7 minutes to get from the freshman building to the senior building and can only get trough 2 doors that are packed with hundreds of students. Plus I feel like the cafeteria is ripping people off with the snack prices.

Perception, by definition, is not an earnest collection of the physical world around us, but a mental construct of our psyches: a false, distorted interpretation of life through our narrow Occidental worldview. What you see, per se, at LHS, is a horrible, vicious place of insolence and arrogance proliferated by staff and students alike. What you perceive, though, is your average middle American suburban educational center. Our predisposition towards this norm clouds our view of the horrendousness occurring within plain view. The lands also could have been higher. 10/10 lake though.

I am a current senior at Lake Highlands, class of 2017 and I hate it here, the problem isnt the students who come and go, the problem lies in the faculty itself. They are disorganized, uninterested and overall rude to their students. Of course, there are certain teachers and faculty members to reach out to students and try to give them a joyful highschool experience, but for the most part the teachers are only there to earn money, the principles are only there to enforce rules and the counselors are only there to tell you that youre not doing well enough academically. The worst part are the secretaries, right now there are about 30 secretaries that I see around the school and of those 30 only 3 have ever showed any kindness or other emotion than disgust at my needing their help. I am a rising senior and in 4 enrollment periods have turned in at least 7 enrollment cards because they have either been Wrong, misprinted, or just plain lost by the school. Every year something about the school changes and it almost always is something that the students dislike. And this is not because we are teenagers that dislike change, these are things like changing the schedule so one of our classes is split by lunch, or reducing the lunch period so we dont have enough time to eat. The only reason I am giving it two stars is because the building itself is actualy somewhat attractive.

I hear the school is haunted in the auditoriam due to a girl killing her self in the 1970s and some people say that b seeing things move on they own.
