Ilise was great with my 2 year old. Patient yet firm. He responded very well to her and is now a little fish in the water. I highly recommend this to any parent whether you have a pool in your backyard or not. If you live somewhere that water is easily accessible, this is for you. Water safety is so important no matter what. I would 100% recommend lessons with Ilise!

She is punctual and assures that all lessons are completed within the scheduled time frame.Ilise’s instruction is consistent and she excels at recognizing each child’s personality and how they learn, so that they can excel in their ISR and/or stroke development.

I love love loved working with Ilisa! My son was 16 months whenever we started and she was so patient and kind toward him, but also helped him master his float. So thankful for the peace of mind that comes with ISR. She is also very reliable, always on time, and makes the whole process as easy as possible!

I am so grateful to have completed ISR lessons, and know that my son will be able to rescue himself if he fell in the water. My son started lessons around 17 months old, and was very timid in learning some of the skills. Ilise was very patient with him, and made sure he was proficient before moving on. Ilise is also very organized, and friendly. Overall we definitely enjoyed our experience, and will be back next year for a refresher lesson!

We have a child with Autism who has been in a swim school for the past 3 years, one day he jumped into the water while his teacher was with another student. That day we were determined that our son needs a survival swimming lesson. In search we found Ilise from ISR waterkids. She was amazing. She is very professional, amazing and with great communication skills. Just after two weeks our son was able to swim and float better than he did for the past 3 years. He completed his ISR lesson in 6 full weeks (without counting the couple of weeks vacation we took). My husband and I are beyond amazed at how Ilise was able to teach our son to successfully swim, float, swim and get to the end. I now can say, my son will NOT drown if he falls into a pool. Ilise is on time, very professional and determined to get our son the lesson he needed. She welcomed him with open arms, although he has a dx of autism. We truly appreciated this lesson and we will return back to Ilise for future refresher courses. We are forever grateful that God has landed us in her arms. Over the course of the summer we saw quite a few stages of kids coming through before/after our kids lessons. At first lots of crying and not exactly discomfort, but more “unhappiness” that they were having to “work” in the water to learn their own self-rescue skills. But universally towards the end, the crying stopped and kids would be bobbing up to the surface as she was testing them to make sure their skills-learning was confident. It was so heartwarming especially to see the under-one-year babies (floating only instead of swim-float-swim), “falling in” with shoes, coat, two swim diapers, a regular diaper, etc…. and just popping up to the surface, as calm as can be. Compared to the alternative, these classes are priceless. It’s difficult for everybody the first week or two, but it was great to see our kids skills and confidence grow, and to be excited to see “Ms. Ilise” for his daily lesson.

My son started ISR lesson with Mrs. Ilise a month before turning 2 yrs old and it was worth every penny! We have a swimming pool at home and it’s so much less of a worry. I still swim and sit with him outside while he out or swimming but knowing that he has the skills to survive (float, get from one side to the other, kick, use his arms to move forward, etc.) it’s such a relief to have as a mom! He also absolutely is a little fish now and LOVES that water! I will be hopefully enrolling her again for July if there are any spots left for a refresher course and possibly stroke lessons for a few weeks! Highly recommend taking these lessons!

Ilise has been teaching all of my children for about 8 years now. She is the best and I wouldnt have anyone else teach them! She taught them how to float (survive) in water before they could even walk. Had they ever fallen into a pool, they would have been able to float on their backs until rescued. She also teaches stroke development to the older kids. My kids also LOVE her!

We had a great experience with Ilise and the ISR program. My 9 month old can’t even crawl, but she can float. It’s remarkable! I’m so thankful for this extra layer of water safety and would highly recommend the program. Ilise is an incredibly knowledgeable and skillful instructor. We look forward to more lessons with her next year.

Ilise was an amazing instructor for our daughter. We would not have known where to begin teaching our daughter to float or swim. The lessons are intense, but by the end she was very comfortable with the water and loved going to the pool this summer. We kept practicing what she learned until fall. Well worth the cost of lessons!

Our 15 month old just completed ISR Waterkids. We were there for 6-7 weeks and found it incredibly valuable. The first week my daughter was crying and unable to float on her own. By the time we were finished, she was able to float around the whole pool calmly. I feel so thankful for Ilise and her help. Great class and we will be going back!

This is our second year of swim lessons with Ilise, and we plan to be back next year! She has taught our busy 10 month old to calmly float and our 2.5 year old to enjoy swimming and floating all over the pool. Every child should learn ISR, and Ilise is an excellent choice of teacher! It is a big investment in time and money, but it is well worth it. My 17 month old is often around pools, and even though they are gated, I have heard too many stories of young children getting around gates, and I feel so much better knowing that my daughter has the skills to save herself if needed. She was pretty stubborn working on some of the skills, but Ilise was always very patient with her. Ilise is very experienced, and was great at communicating to me how my daughter was progressing and managing my expectations. On top of the survival aspect, even though my daughter did cry a lot during classes (which is totally normal), she is now so confident in the water and loves swimming-we have a hard time getting her out of the pool! I look forward to going back to Ilise next summer!

I knew that I wanted my daughter to take ISR lessons as we have a pool, but didn’t know exactly what to expect. Ilise was wonderful!!! She was patient and consistent with Claire for 10 weeks and taught her the most valuable life saving skills. We can’t wait to sign up for the refresher course next summer!

We attended ISR lessons with Waterkids in far north Dallas this past summer. For us it was a 20 minute drive one way, but worth every minute. I will say it is not for faint at heart. It was a struggle at first but we pushed through with the guidance of Ms. Ilise. Both my kids are completely comfortable and can swim, using the correct swimming techniques! I know that if anything was to ever happen they would be comfortable enough to get out of the water. Ms. Ilise has given my kids a pretty special gift and it’s more then just swimming.The experience has been so eye opening, every child should be taught to float.

Our son took ISR lessons from Ilise when he was 2.5 yrs old. Despite the short 10 min session, Ilise took each day and week to build upon each skill she was teaching.While it was sometimes tough to see our child upset (because learning new things is scary), it was amazing to see a total transformation in his confidence and desire to be in the pool after these lessons.We are so grateful for these lessons and will certainly return for refresher courses as needed.

Ilise is great! It took us a long 10+ weeks last summer for our 18 month old to learn and test out, but this summer it only took two weeks of refreshers and now we can’t keep her out of the pool she loves swimming so much. It’s great for your kids to love the water and know how to float/swim/get to the edge of the pool so confidently. We’re taking the new baby (who will be 12 months) to Ilise next year!

This was our third summer with Ms. Ilise at ISR Waterkids and we will continue to come back each year! Our daughter has become an aquatic problem-solver thanks to Ms. Ilises patience and expertise. Drowning is one of the biggest killers of children and having our own backyard pool made this threat very real to my husband and me. It is of great comfort to know that my daughter is able to float on her back and swim to the nearest exit of the pool (even if she is fully clothed)! As a teacher myself, I am impressed with Ms. Ilises approach.

We’ve sent our 3yo and 5yo boys to Ilise for two summers. They’ve grown immensely as swimmers and we have confidence with their safety in the water. They really enjoyed going to see her for lessons and can’t wait to go back for refreshers and stroke development next summer.

Our twins are now 4 years old and are fantastic swimmers. We started with Ilise when the were 13 months. They are confident in the water and can swim all the way across our pool. I love knowing they are safe in the water and have this invaluable skill for life. We are so grateful!

Ilise was great with my little guy! The first week was his refresher on techniques with his swim-float-swim. This was his third summer of ISR, and at just 3 1/2, he learned swim strokes both on his stomach and his back and started diving for toys. Love Ilise and the ISR program!

Ilise is very knowledgeable and even tempered and gave our 1.5 year old the skills to survive should he ever fall into water. ISR can be tough, but Im so glad we did it.

It gives me such peace of mind knowing that my daughter will know what to do if she ever falls in water and an adult is not there to pull her out. I recommend ISR to everyone!!

Ilise was a wonderful instructor and our son learned so much so quickly!

My son was so traumatized after the first lesson, we never went back. My son wouldnt talk for almost an hour after the lesson. If I would have known it would be like this, I would have NEVER signed him up. It took 8 personal swimming lessons after the one ISR class to get him to even go back in to the water. Oh and she wouldnt give me my money back, either... so not only did I have to pay a couple hundred dollars for nothing but then I had to pay extra after this in order to undo the damage that was caused. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Stop searching for a swim instructor right now, because you just found the best! I cannot even put into words how incredible Ms Ilise is. Shes so patient with the kids (both of mine were not easy to deal with) and will ensure your kids are successful. Our oldest started taking lessons at 18 months and is now 5, and yall, she can be on a swim team. She has fallen in the pool multiple times, and just calmly gets herself out. Our youngest started at 12 months and he just knows to stay away from the pool. I feel like gates, and locked doors and pool alarms are awesome, but can fail. How many times have people forgot to lock a door or gate? Mine figured out how to use a stick to unlock it! So they best way is to make sure your kids are safe, is to make sure they know how to swim. We go back year after year, I seriously have this fear that I will miss the sign-up email and we wont get a spot, I think I would have a meltdown. So, again, both of my kids have learned survival swimming from Ms Ilise, and my oldest has been working on stroke development from age 3. Your childs safety is your top priority, dont trust anyone but the best!* Something else I feel that I need to address, especially for first-timers. Some kids CRY, like horrible crying...BOTH of our kids cried through every lesson for 2 whole summers. They are fine, they LOVE swimming, its their favorite thing. They are NOT being tortured. Do not quit the lessons because your baby/child is crying, just prepare for it, and know that crying everyday is way better than the alternative of them falling in the pool (God Forbid) its normal, its fine. When my oldest cried, I got over it once I saw how she could SWIM BEFORE AGE 2, and when it was the seconds turn, it didnt affect us at all.So thats it, Ms Ilise is the way to go, sign up as soon as that email comes (just please dont take my spot, hahahaha)
