Toured the SMU campus after a visit to the Bush Presidential Center. I am very impressed with the beautiful campus!

Was great to re-visit with my kids after25 years. We stopped by Ownby where I used to play soccer and still have some records remaining :-). 1 guard gave us permission to go onto the turf field but the maintenance man speaking Spanish to 2 ladies kept trying to get us to leave the field. The awesomeness of returning to kick a golden soccer ball with my 9 year old son was wonderful and only slightly dampened by the pesky man. Cockrell dorms and the rest of the University look great and updated!!!

Im currently a student here, set to graduate in 2022 with a Bachelors in Mech Engineering. Beautiful campus, however professors are pretty hit or miss. So far mostly miss for me. The math class I took had the worst math professor Ive ever had and one of my professors for a core class was rude and demeaning, but my Spanish professor was one of the best professors Ive ever had. Out of the 9 professors Ive had so far I approved of y tuition for 5 classes runs around 29k (living off campus) however for low income families they offer scholarships to help pay for classes. If I wasnt receiving this scholarship I wouldve left after my second semester.

Love that my daughter is going here and studying to be a nurse. I could not be happier with the support she is getting and the safety she feels on campus.

Restrictive since 2001, before 9-Eleven.Went there to access fax.Offered free educational lectures. Announcements posted at students lounge.Attended awesome one in a classroom about Nazi butcher Dr. Mengule. Professors love their vocations and want to pass their smarts onto students. In the 70s my application to attend was accepted.Take Red, or Orange train to Mockingbird exit. Take elevator to the top, then right to the street with the light and another right puts you on westbound Mockingbird. Walk past all the shops and shade trees, cross Interstate 45 and itll be in front of you. Mostly downhill walking to the entrance wall.There is a presidential library behind these walls. It was completed in 2010.

Regularly voted as one of the most beautiful campuses in the nation, it draws visitors from all over the world: George W Bush Presidential Library, Competitive Dance programs, World renowned engineering, and athletics program with storied past. Come by and see Dallas Hall.

As an alum, I can say this is truly the best school in the nation. Professors are from the top schools (Yale, Princton, Harvard, etc). Like any place can get political but make your voice heard. The school is full of conservatives, not liberals. This is a very conservative state in a conservative town that wont be liberalized not matter how many Californians visit. :)LOVE this school!

If you can afford to attend a small private university, Southern Methodist University should be on your list of places to consider. The campus itself is beautiful with well-manicured landscaping. Its worth a night-time visit just to see the downtown Dallas skyline from the campus. The faculty is top caliber. However, this is not the place to go if youre on a limited budget, i.e. theres unlikely to be a positive return on your investment in the tuition if you have to borrow most of the funds to attend as student loans.

Amazing campus and buildings. The school needs to spend more time, and money improving its academic standing nationally, increasing media coverage, and developing support from a larger part of Dallass population - this isnt the hometown team.SMUs football team is really a tragic story. It still haunts what would otherwise be a powerhouse school, and the campus suffers for it.The MBA programs are among the best in the country, a large supply of graduate, doctoral, and law offerings round out healthy graduate offerings.

SMU contracts Campus Chefs own by Clarence Boyd who commits tax and wage fraud with his employees. Not reporting income of the employees and taking taxes out of the checks of employees and lining his pockets with it. I going to tell everyone newspaper and station I can so that they can be up there when school starts to see why they are contracting this CROOK.

SMU has a beautiful campus, and students here have the opportunity to earn fairly decent jobs. BUT, the school and its administration does not care about its current students at all. They are entirely focused on the next batch of paying students, while neglecting the needs of the current students. No matter what you do if you end up attending school here, DO NOT listen to the academic advisers. They commonly mislead students into taking additional coursework they do not need in order to extend their time at SMU and earn more money. They also do not offer the classes needed to finish the program youre in each semester, but will not advise you to take them while you can. Instead, they advise you to take other classes. Additionally, the financial office is consistently incompetent, and often accidentally charge students with misc fees, and then make you argue for months to repeal them. The whole point of attending a private school is smaller class sizes and an administration that cares about the individual students. The administration would rather water the grass than hire a decent professor who actually knows what theyre talking about (I often have to correct my professors based on what I was taught in the real finance world (at JP Morgan))

This campus is beautiful...just happened to stumble upon it while visiting the George W. Bush Library.

Great lookimg campus but the staff and adminstration is bad when it comes to enrollment. I have been trying to enroll in classes for the last 6 months and the samething continues to happen. They put it off until its too latr and classes start. I keep getting told that its a transfer issue so they send to adminstration than they tell me its on the registrars office. Also apparently the G.I Bill doesnt cover all of SMU tuition and either gone have to pay out of pocket or you use the yellow ribbon whatever. Either way its been really annoying dealing with them.

After reading the previous post I had to share some insight on my experience with Clerence, the owner of Campus Chefs, a company contracted by SMU. As unfortunate as it sounds, Im just glad there are others who are willing to shine light on Clerences poor excuse of a professional company. His lack of management and treatment of his employees is simply pathetic. This man doesnt know how to take care of his employees let alone run a company. I know he has hard working employees, something I cant say for Clerence. Its frustrating that those who are contracted with him dont see the lies and continuous fraudulent actions this man has made.

Your university has to be the most unlearned bunch of liberals i have ever seen. Is this college just for left leaning democrats ? Or just whining snowflakes that are looking to be offended by the American Flag ? You need to get a backbone or close your doors, your people aare teaching kids how tonot survive in the real world.

This is one of the most outrageous colleges Ive ever seen. They would not put up american flags for 9/11 because they felt that some of their students might feel, and I quote, harrassed by them. You cant make this up. The Nation suffered a tremendous loss that day and this school doesnt even have the patriotism or respect to remember those thousands of people that were murdered that day? Your ignorant students are offended? Well this school has offended me, and the rest of the sane American people as well. As Im looking for a college I surely will NOT be looking at this school, and I WILL definitely guide my peers to not choose this university as well.
