We LOVE Music Together and Ms. Wendy!! We brought our oldest daughter to classes 3-5 yrs ago, back when she was a toddler, and now we’re so happy to be able to bring our youngest, a 1-year old, to outdoor, pandemic-appropriate classes. It’s such a bright spot in this pandemic year. Our baby loves seeing the other families (at a distance), and we all have such a great time!! Another great benefit is that once the little ones have associated the songs with the fun times of music class, the recorded music can be such a great “mood lifter” anytime it’s needed. They’ll also just learn so much—our oldest, now 6, is so comfortable singing and expressing herself musically, and I credit Music Together for most of that. Highly recommend!!!

My three year old has been in Music Together classes since he was 3 months old, and it’s been amazing to see the influence it has had on his development. He was matching pitch by 9 months old and echoing rhythm patterns by a year. I also credit his early exposure to a thoughtfully developed music curriculum with his accelerated verbal development and long attention span. As a baby, his Music Together CDs could calm him down when nothing else could - they were our secret weapons! We were so sad that it looked like we would have to miss a semester when the pandemic hit, but then Ms. Wendy and her wonderful staff came through for us and put their classes online! Of course nothing can replace in-person classes, and we weren’t sure how well our son would do with online classes with all the distractions of home, but he has adjusted beautifully! He gets so excited when we tell him it’s time for music class, and he loves to help gather the materials. Online classes feel surprisingly similar to in-person classes, and they hold his attention just as well. The Music Together teachers have shown such fortitude and flexibility in adjusting the material for online classes, and I’ve truly been surprised at how well they are able to engage the kids. Only recently has he started doing something differently than he would in person - he goes to get his ukulele to play along with the goodbye song every week! Our family is so incredibly grateful to Ms. Wendy and her team for making this program available to us while we are at home. It is the highlight of our week, and has been so important in keeping some semblance of a routine for our toddler. Thank you, Ms. Wendy!

We have attended 2 semesters of Music Together and are signing up for a 3rd. Our child loves these classes. We started around 8 months so he wasnt that interactive in class but at home started to play his instruments, as we have continued his interaction has increased as has his confidence in singing/playing along to music in class as well as at home. The teachers have all been wonderful. They often even take the time to explain the rhythmic pattern or song history. I love expanding my own music education in a fun way :-). They have a flexible makeup policy which is key with these little ones. The director is very friendly and understanding. As a VERY cautious pandemic mom, Ive been so relieved to have this very safe outing with my son on a regular basis.

My family has loved MT of Decatur for several years now! My oldest child began class at 2 and we now enjoy it with our second toddler, while her older sister still likes attending at almost 5 years old (outside the core demographic for the class, but its remarkable that she is still really interested.)They have done a great job of balancing safety and community during the pandemic, and weve really enjoyed outdoor classes. And, weve made great lasting friendships in music class. A great activity for babies/toddlers, with staying power for older siblings!

We just had our first outdoor class since the start of the pandemic, and we loved it. Our daughter got to sing and dance and play with her instruments, and we were quite happy with the safety precautions (all adults wore masks and there was enough space that we could maintain far more than the recommended six feet of separation). Ms. Wendy used a small speaker, so we had no problems hearing her. And it was in the shade!

My son and I started attending Music Together classes with Miss Wendy almost a year ago, and it has been such a gift to our family. I have a sensitive and shy toddler, and Id been looking for classes that would help him open up and engage with others. Truthfully, he spent the first twenty minutes of our first class crying in the window, but then he saw how much fun the other kids and parents were having, and he joined in. By the end of that first class, we were both smiling, playing, and hooked. Music Together is a great program, meeting a wide range of little people where they are at, but Miss Wendy and her group of teachers are what make it magic. They are positive, kind, and encouraging, and they give it all in every class. At the end of our first class, my son ran to give Miss Wendy a hug. Were finishing up our third collection, and definitely coming back for a fourth, even though with COVID, classes have had to move online. My son, like so many other kids, now has his activities online, but music is the only one hes into at all. We are so grateful for Music Together of Decatur!!!

This has been a joy for our family! A special way for us to spend fun time together every week with someone else in charge, as well as to meet other children and parents. Ms. Wendys loving energy is really special, and our child loves the music CDs and books. We went through the full 3-year cycle and just kept going!

Music Together of Decatur has been an incredible experience for both myself and my daughter. I enrolled her at 11-months and we’ve been singing and dancing our way through new collections of songs each season for nearly 2-years. No doubt, these classes (both in person and on Zoom) have been extremely beneficial in her development. They’ve taught her rhythm, rhyme, and repetition while encouraging her to be creative and make music on her own.We love the songs, we love the music books, we love the teachers, and we especially love the friends we’ve made over time.

We LOVE Music Together Decatur! We attend the class at the First Baptist Church once a week and it honestly the highlight of our week. Ms. Wendy makes the class so much fun, involving the whole family and my 13 month old son cant get enough! Such an amazing activity for children and families who enjoy music, singing, and having fun! I know this class is instilling a love of music for our little one at an early age that will hopefully last throughout his life!

Miss Wendy is such a fun lady! My 1 -year old adores this class; it’s the perfect length and lots of fun. We’ve been enjoying learning new songs and dances and playing together with other families. Highly recommend for families looking to spend some nice, quality time together!

We have been attending Ms. Wendys Music Together classes for the past few years. The Music Together program provides a strong musical foundation for younger children. Ms. Wendys enthusiasm and excitement helps bring life to all of the songs. Last spring, we attended Ms. Wendys virtual Zoom classes, which were a highlight of our week while staying at home. At first, my 3 year old was hesitant to participate in Zoom meetings, so Ms. Wendy sent him videos and made sure that he was prepared to see her and participate virtually. When schools and playgrounds were closed, it was difficult for younger children to interact and meet with friends. Ms. Wendys virtual Music Together class was a great way for our son to catch up with kids his age and something that he looked forward to every week. We have also attended classes in person and outside and have truly enjoyed all types of classes with Ms. Wendy.

Our kids have taken music classes with Music Together of Decatur for nearly four years, and it has been a fabulous experience. My kids look forward to seeing Ms. Wendy and the other teachers, who are all so warm and skillful with babies and toddlers. We love exposing our kids to music in a social setting (outdoor classes during COVID have been great!). This is a really special community, and we are so grateful for it.

We have been doing Music Together for almost two years now and we love every minute of it. First, it was a way to get out of the house with my one-year-old in a clean environment and a way to befriend other parents. Then when the pandemic hit they transitioned to Zoom classes which helped bring back meanings to the days of the week. When they opened up in-person classes again, they made sure that everyone stayed safe. It was such a relief to be able to bring my kid some normalcy and for him to be able to be around other children even at a distance. We love these classes--especially when we all get up to dance together! Parking at First Baptist Church of Decatur has never been a problem and the front lawn offers wide open spaces for my little one to play.

Music Together has given me an outlet to spend time with my daughter(s) in a fun and meaningful way each week. Even during the pandemic, my daughter looked forward to Zoom music time with her favorites. We LOVE Ms. Lauren and Ms. Wendy and look forward to making music together.

We love Music Together of Decatur! My daughter has been attending classes since she was an infant. The instructors are always attentive and obviously well prepared for class. A great mommy & me activity! This past semester we chose to do Saturday morning classes so Dad could join us as well. There is an app that has all the music accessible so that we can jam all week too! This is not a class where the instructors just turn on a song and we sing or play along. There are specific movements, beats and instruments paired with a capella singing, the pre-recorded songs and/or the instructor playing an instrument live. Our family adores Music Together of Decatur! I have taken all four of our children to Ms. Wendy and Ms. Beths classes over the years. Their classes have been some of our favorite memories of our little ones.
