I took my 5 year old son up a discovery flight. It was a total surprise to him. From the initial call to leaving the airport after the flight everything about this place and the experience my son and I had was top notch. Erica answered all of my concerns and questions on the phone ahead of time and took care of the booking. Miguel our pilot was awesome. He was so professional and very patient with my son. It was my sons first time to ever be in an airplane so we had no idea how it was going to end up. It ended up being a lifelong memory. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a chance to get up in the air in a safe and friendly environment. We will be definitely doing this again in the future.

I had the privilege to start working on my Private Pilots License while still in High School through the US Aviation Academy. I looked at many flight schools in the DFW area and USAA was by far the best. Their aircraft are well maintained, their instructors are top notch and overall they maintain a level of professionalism not seen at other flight schools. I’d highly recommend the US Aviation Academy to anyone looking to become a pilot.

I started my training with US Aviation in the fall of 2019. At first it was a rocky start (growing pains ), however, it did not take long for them to fix the issues. Since then they have provided me with excellent instruction and opportunities to further my aviation career. Having come in with a private pilots license from a prior school, I had no idea on what I was missing out on. The professionalism that is displayed is top notch, while still allowing for fun. The ground schools are well planned and are very informative. The airplanes are well maintained, the facilities are nice and clean. They also provide areas to study, as well as opportunities to use the sims. Having finished most of my ratings(instrument-CFI) I have no regrets on choosing them as my flight school.

Had a discovery flight here and I couldnt have been any happier with the experience. Everyone was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. I asked a lot of questions due to nervousness (as Ive never been on a plane smaller than a commercial one) and not one employee was annoyed by it. I felt very comfortable here and after my discovery flight with US Aviation Academy, I definitely gained an interest in aviation.

USAA values its students and provides the necessary ground school and flight instruction to be successful; this is in strict contrast to other schools where youre a number $$$ (see my ATP flight school review). They also have self examing authority so youre not always waiting weeks/months on a DPE for your checkride. Their instructors emphasize safety, pilot knowledge and decision making. They have a dedicated scheduling and dispatch departments and use Flight Schedule Pro website to manage your schedule and flight hours, so you always know your progress. They are flexible with your schedule which is very helpful. I completed my instrument and commercial ratings at US Aviation Academy via part 141 after previously achieving my private rating independently via part 61. Currently working on my CFI/CFII/Commercial Multi.

I highly suggest looking into US Aviation Academy and their Part 141 program. They are partnered with Liberty University, so you can get your bachelors and pilot’s license at the same time! The Liberty University pathway is GI Bill friendly and is excellent for Veterans! I can’t recommend US Aviation Academy’s flight instruction enough! My training with both Liberty University and US Aviation Academy has been nothing but ideal!

Reply: You want to hear from me? Why not hear from Mr. Yan who has suffered so much? You sure can’t do it now because he is gone and all of you failed to hear from him! Stop bragging about all your certificates, even a President can commit a crime. Those certificates can not determine your heart and who you are. After all these backlashes, you guys still learned nothing. If you really want to hear from me that bad, here’s what you need to know, it’s plain simple: Apologize to his family and pay for their lose. No amount of money can ever bring back a life, but his family should not have to suffer this sorrow. You love forcing those students to take shameful photos in front of the Trump meme right? How about you learn something too and get your lesson done!Their so called “structured English immersion” is simply LAUGHABLE. Teaching English is not an excuse for you to DISCRIMINATE foreigners whose first language is not English. USAA’s nativism and ignorance are clearly the causes of their students’ hardship.Racism and Nativism: The staff says students need dedication to succeed, while they must do harsh labor to survive(see the schedule below).-The school denies racism, while they publicly exhibit “English-Only” policies addressed specifically to Chinese students.-The school not only refuses to apologize, they are actively trying to make it looks like this is a highly dedicated institution. Are they somehow the victims? They had nothing to do with Mr. Yan’s suicide because he risked his own future and paid an expensive tuition just to die in America? More importantly, is this the kind of responsibility the school wishes to show to their future students?

As l experienced in USAA , it is really a wonderful place to study fly . The instructors , managers , dispatches , mantainance people and drivers are friendly to every student . lf you have any question in flight or trouble in your life , you can find any staff in our academy , they will help you immediately .For flight , l have two private instructors , they are both very good to lead you to be a top pilot , they have extremely good techniques in flight and are knowledgeable in ground . Academy has many helpful facilities we can use to prepare our flight , like computers to check weather , printers we can use to print diagrams , simulators that we can practice procedures , and we can get a foreflight account from academy too , thats really convenient for every preparation . For the reason of coronavirus , academy provided a safety environment for flight training by everyday temperature test , provide masks , sanitizer and so on . They do as promised , we will be safe to complete our study .

Ive been working at the US Aviation Academy for a couple of months now and have seen nothing but professionalism and an environment created to helping students succeed. Having worked at a previous school before coming here, I can see that they have established a great curriculum to provide great training. Ive been teaching in the Chinese instrument curriculum and my students so far have been very knowledgeable and they study hard which honestly makes a flight instructors job easy. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the amount of hours isnt what I had hoped for but that seems to be specific to the Chinese instrument program, as other programs seem to fly more. Just something to be aware of if considering teaching here to build hours.

@Divine Panda....while your comment may have some truth to it, can you not see the irony in that EVERY 1 star and outlandish comment, including yourself, is obviously from someone that has never been to, or experienced what US Aviation is all about. You are all the same and never share any personal experiences with US Aviation Academy. As a consumer and potential customer, I am far more likely to believe those that have taken the time to rate and share their ACTUAL experiences at US Aviation Academy than all of those who are trying to tear down what seems to be an otherwise good company because of some millennial/snowflake bs.Thank you to those who have been to and shared your experience of US Aviation Academy. Your honest ratings and experiences are helpful.PS...I have not experienced US Aviation Academy either. But based on all the other ratings and their response from owner comments towards the 1 stars, I am giving them 4 stars. Seems like they have it together and know how to get the job done.

USAA has given me opportunity for advancement and better hourly wages than I would have had at my previous flight school as flight instructor. As a flight instructor I take a genuine interest in my students and I can say most of the other flight instructors here do too. Everyone is very friendly at the academy and we are like a family. I have made life long friends, both instructor and students. On a side note, my father passed away unexpectedly last year and it was very hard for my family and I. The USAA faculty was there for me, gave me as much personal time as I needed, and even made a large donation to our family for the memorial service. I am eternally grateful for this. I have been with US Aviation Academy for a bit now and I have to say that as instructors, there are plenty of opportunities for us to thrive. Most of the students based in Denton and Sherman(North Texas Regional) are Chinese contracts. To be honest, I had a very biased opinion about working with Contract students from China going in as an instructor, thinking that it would be hard and possibly exhausting. I’m not saying that it’s not at times but USAA has laid out a Training Course Outline(TCO), specific to the Chinese students to meet their requirements, that makes our lives as an instructor easier. For the most part, the students’ ground knowledge is fairly developed as they need to have it completed prior to commencing flight training and that applies to all ratings. This reduces the amount of time you spend on the ground and it increases flight time significantly. It is still the duty of an instructor to brief and debrief each lessons. If you absolutely don’t want to work with the Chinese students, you do have an opportunity to work with domestic students. USAA provides aircraft, instructors, and a TCO for a collegiate program located at Alliance Airport, in Fort Worth TX. Most, if not all of the students there are domestic students. Now as an instructor, you have a lot of room to move up in the company. You can be a CFII, MEI and even become a Check Airman. For the most part, the company is willing to help you obtain your additional ratings at a reduced price(though I cannot guarantee all candidates are eligible for that). Now, I mentioned Check airman. At USAA, we have self-examine authority from Private up to Commercial Multi. Becoming a Check airman at USAA will significantly increase your billable time and flight time. Not only do you have your own students to work with but now you can also conduct stage checks and EOC(checkrides). I have seen instructors racking up MORE THAN 100 HOURS OF FLIGHT TIME in a month, and that is not including the ground briefs and the oral exams. If you plan on staying with company after 1500hrs, you can also become a King Air instructor.Pros and Cons.Pros:- Flight Time is great(Weather Permitting)- A huge fleet of aircraft- Multiple Bases(KDTO, KGYI, KAFW)- Ability to move up in the company- Partnered with Envoy(Pipeline Program)- Schedules are easily accessed and created ahead of timeCons:- Weather is ALWAYS a limiting factor for instructors- Seniority based time off(it’s the same as the airlines so it’s not a big deal for me)Working there as an instructor has been an amazing experience. Yes, sometimes it gets a bit exhausting after a long day of flying but we have to keep in mind that in the long run, it’s benefiting the all of us.After a month of working at USAA, I was able to apply and get an interview with Envoy as a Pipeline instructor. This lifted up a big burden off of my shoulders knowing that I have a position there once I have the time required.**P.S**I wasn’t paid nor do I get attention from management to post this review and will update this information as needed.

Dear fellow students,I hope you will read these important notes before subscription to US Aviation Academy. My conclusion - after being a student by myself at this academy - is as follows:Pros+) The teachers are extremely friendly and competent+) The schools environment is perfect as the airport is controlled by a tower and close to several other airports. That means every time you fly you will practice to talk on the radio+) The infrastracture of the school building is pretty new (not the housing!)Cons-) The duration of the schools programs is even more than underestimated. In reality take their advertised time and multiply it by 2 (for example for the Private Pilote License it would be 4 months). Do not buy this filthy lie!!(This rule is applicable to all flight schools with such advertisements)-) The management of the school is really poor. The amount of students is too high and exceeds the school capacity. Therefore one has to wait for hours and days until lessons are scheduled and administrative work is done. This costs precious time that could be used for flying and will be charged because of your longer stay at the Academy. You will also note the lack of good management when trying to write mails to the school secretary/admissions office. If you have luck, you will get a standardized answer that does not include any reply to your questions. If you do not have luck, your message will never be answered.-) The provided housing is too expensive (bad furnishing, you will live with 3 other roommates) compared to the local student housing of the University of North Texas. I recommend to look for the housing by your own (Hint: check the housing of the University of North Texas). All in all, I wanted to tell you: Think twice before choosing this flightschool and be reminded to always have a safety buffer for your return flight, housing and the most important thing: your money.
