My husband and I scheduled a reservation here for a Saturday evening. It is a fun environment. It is $39 a project plus you need to tip on top of that. I will say I had to get up many times to ask for help or supplies I was never given. Also note it is very loud inside. When I went they had about 30 different projects to choose from which you can view online. We had about 3 hours to complete our projects which was plenty of time. Parking is right out front at the meters. Possibly pre game it too because drinks are pricey.

Highly recommend! Was in a bachelorette party when we came here, and I didn’t realize how many options they would have to choose from in terms of crafting! Staff was friendly and helpful, and the drinks were good! The music playing was also FIRE!!! I would definitely come back here! Better than painting with a twist especially if painting isn’t your thing because they have crafting options that include woodworking, jewelry making, and many more options!

What an amazing fun experience! Drinks are good, and the art is a ton of fun! Came here from out of town for my bachelorette party and we had a blast, it’s so much more than just a standard “wine and paint” place. Staff was super friendly and plenty of tools and supplies on hand for all your project needs. Lots of different projects to choose from too! Just be warned, the stamped metal necklaces are harder than they look! Overall, I would love to do this again, maybe going for a paint project next time 😅.

Kind staff. I was waiting in the heat with some friends and happened to ask the workers for some water on a day I wasn’t going to UC and the girls were so kind and brought us water glasses. Don’t even think they were open at that time of day. AWESOME PLACE TO HAVE FUN. This place is just fun, the music, the people, all of it. I had my birthday party here and I’d HIGHLY recommend it. Blended a wide array of humans— from grandmas to kids and every 20-something friend in between and everyone had fun

Imagine a cocktail bar combined with shop and home ec classes! Thats basically what Upstairs Circus is all about! I had the opportunity to visit recently during a work function. We visited the downtown Denver location, right across from Fogo de Chao. There is another one located in DTC.We went at the tail end of happy hour, and the drink prices were very reasonable. I started with a red sangria followed by a glass of their house red. They do not serve or provide any food. However they do allow you to bring food in, so we ordered from Cheesecake Factory. The projects are a little pricey. They are around $40 a person, and can range anywhere from one to two and a half hours to complete. All of the necessary materials and tools are provided, with detailed laminated instructions. Because you might be drinking and working with dangerous tools, everyone is required to sign a waiver. There is also at least one project attendants available to help at all times.Project ideas include making jewelry, dream catchers, cutting boards, string art, leather wallets, and much much more. I decided upon a concrete catch-all tray; something that one might throw their keys or jewelry on at the end of the day. Mine ended up looking a little amateur, but it was more about the fun we had. I highly recommend this for a group outing. I saw a lot of bridal shower groups when we were there. People under 21 are allowed, of course they just cant drink. This might be a fun place to take family and relatives from out of town.

I called in last minute the night before mothers day and was able to snag a single spot at the bar to make my momma a Zen Mala necklace. This placed seems to stay packed and I can see why! All the women working the bar and materials desk are top notch, handling a packed room with ease and grace. If youre trying to schedule online and are having difficulties, Id suggest calling in to see if there are any cancellations or single spots free. You wont be disappointed!

Ive been to upstairs circus twice, and its always a fun time! We went on Saturday for Mimosas and Making which included bottomless mimosas and one project. It was really crowded when we got there, but the staff still did a great job circulating to help everyone. You can choose from an extensive list of craft projects, and then they give you all of the supplies and the instruction list. They also have examples of all of the projects for you to look at. I chose the marble serving tray. The directions were super straightforward and you can still get creative with the paint colors you choose, etc. The ladies that worked there kept the mimosas flowing, and repeatedly asked us if we needed anything. You can also bring in your own snacks! This was such a fun outing, and would be perfect for bachelorette parties or ladies night out.

Went to this location (LoDo) last weekend for the Making n Mimosas Saturday morning workshop. We had a blast and it was great to see my friends after such a long time!! While I didnt get to finish my chosen craft in time (I took full advantage of the bottomless mimosas), I was given supplies to take home so I could do it on my own time (which Ive still not completed, perhaps I need more mimosas to finish the job). The atmosphere was great, the chalk wall bathrooms were neat-o, and the staff were fantastic! My glass was almost never empty, they took the time to explain how everything works, and they even stopped by to answer questions/assist with some of the craft steps.Id like to shout out Matt as he was a complete professional and compassionate guy, even as I was crying for an unrelated reason when we arrived (my glasses breaking en route to this location made for a very sad start to the day but electrical tape works wonders people). Id also like to shout out Superman for going above and beyond in helping our group out (our Wonder Woman at the table really appreciated it) and for making Andys Birthday Shot for me, as it was delicious! I would highly recommend this shot to anyone (side note: make sure to ask about the ingredients per allergies). The ladies we talked to before we left were also very nice.I would absolutely return in the future and my drunk self supports this 1,000% (and my drunk self would have left a much better review).Thank you Upstairs Circus for the fabulous experience your establishment provided and I look forward to visiting again in the future!

I would have to say this is the worst project place I have been. We had a party of 12 gather for a family function totally disappointed both of our waitress where totally rude from the monument we walked in got the feeling they didnt feel like dealing with our large group. Couldnt get our orders right from the start. Where just handed our projects with an instruction page no assistants at all. Where told we could bring in snacks but everytime we took our masks down they where telling us to put them back on as they where constantly having theirs down. One of the mangers was drinking outside on the patio bathrooms where filthy. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

We came for date night, and as a date idea it was great, but...Check-in process is poorly executed. Youre handed your supplies with an instruction sheet, and told where to sit. Then... nothing. Youre on your own. (Very different than other diy craft places.) They really should walk customers through, and explain things more. We were often getting up and walking around trying to find tools, supplies, etc.We liked the projects we made, but service was lacking (or nonexistent).Drinks were so-so. We did enjoy the old-school hip hop music and fun atmosphere though. But wont go back because we felt ignored all night. :(

Not upstairs, so I’m not sure what the name is about. The noise of hammering echoing off the tacky exposed ceilings might have been tolerable if not for the very rude service. The seating is terrible, and there is no place to store your belongings safely away from all the paint and dye. Pray you receive all your needed supplies the first time around, because the only person “helping” is much too busy hunching over her phone to be bothered with helping you.

It is such a great business model: friends work on creative projects and sip wine. Atmosphere is also very nice. Only problem I had was that the needle was too wide for the hole in the bead and I kept breaking the bead, while trying hard to push the needle through. There are special beading needles, they should have provided. Person in charge tried to help, but not much she could do, she just offered more beads… So, I couldn’t finish my project in 2 ½ hours☹️.

I went this weekend for my birthday! The choices of crafts were great, but overwhelming. I spent more time choosing what to do than simply getting started. They share what they are online, but there are more options in person. I felt rushed on my project, but the staff was very helpful when I got stuck or needed a suggestion! I would definitely come back, and recommend it to my friends!

Would highly not recommend wasting your money here! It took forever to check in the entire rooms worth of reservations all at once and then to get back in another line to pick up our projects, which ended up cutting into our craft time. Before we knew it, we were out of time and our projects werent even close to being done. They were happy to send us home with supplies and get us out to make space for the next group of people to come in. Not sure why they have projects available that arent able to be finished in time - someone who worked there stated this happens often. Super crowded space as well. The people sharing a table with us were having to stand up and move every time we needed to get by to go grab a supply.

Went her for the first time last night. Place was lots of fun very loud atmosphere, with everyone banging hammers, but everything else was nice. Great music selection. Staff were very helpful. Enjoyed this more then a sip & paint just because you can go at your own pace, and the many craft projects they offer at once. I can say that it would be nice to see a bigger drink menu. They didnt even have a margarita, so when I asked they said thats not on our drink menu but happy to make one. Long story short it ended up being a very spicy jalapeno one !!!!! Crafts also start at $37 so that could also be a negative, things are pricey there.

I have been to both the lodo and dtc location.I would give the dtc location 5 stars but the downtown location 3.1. The space at the lodo location is very small. There are 7 tables and each seat 6-7 people. This would be fine if there was enough room to comfortably navigate to the bar and restrooms. But overall, if the place is fully booked (which Im sure happens often with its growing popularity) then the lack of space becomes an issue.2. There were only 3 or 4 workers and the day I went was fully booked. This isnt the fault of the workers, but the owners. They need to hire more people. My friend had a difficult time with her project and no one offered to help until around 15-20 minutes in. The employees were clearly preoccupied with other duties (and they did a great job - again, not their fault) but overall customer service suffered.3. The projects range in difficulty and time requirement. For the projects that are more difficult and require more time, its not probable to complete them in the time allotted, especially without much help. And especially when the employees are not easily reachable. As a patron, youd have to choose between waiting and continuing and possibly making a mistake. Another reason to hire more people.4. I went to a Making and Mimosas class from 11:30 - 2:30pm. They were not open at 11:30, or maybe they were but there was a long line outside. I was there at 11:35 but didnt enter the building until around 11:50. Then, with checking in and then choosing a project, I probably didnt start until 12:10-12:15. This was partly because it was a fully booked event. That is fine but if you know your events sell out, then you need to hire more employees to make the check in process more efficient so people get to work on a project for the full time allotted. I intentionally chose an easy project but my friend didnt and she didnt get to finish.5. Please give patrons more updates on time. 30 and 15 minute warnings until the end of class, at least. There should be clear, audible updates on time for the entire room.6. At the end, we were given our credit cards and told to add gratuity. I did not tip and I didnt think the service was worth tipping for. Barely any service was provided - as I mentioned before, the employees were very busy and they were avsilable when needed by basically, they checked me in, gave me materials, and kept my mimosa glass full. They were kind people but I would have preferred to be notified of expected gratuity. In a paint and sip class, the instructor is usually much more involved and I can see why they would expect a tip. Since these projects are self-directed, that didnt make sense to me.I loved having so many different projects to choose from and for most projects, the printed directions are sufficient!Tips are nice but it was heavily implied that they were expected and with the level of service given, tips were not warranted in my opinion.Overall, I think youd have a better time at the dtc location because its larger and the employees didnt seem so rushed. Its a great concept and I appreciate all the work that goes into it but I do think they could improve their business model to provide a more enjoyable experience to customers.Thank you, and I did enjoy my project!

Went with a group of friends for the first time. They had a wide variety of crafts to choose from and since everyone gets to choose what they want to do no one is disappointed with the craft for the evening or too challenged/bored with it either. There wasnt much instruction given as to how the process worked so we kind of had to figure out how to get the projects started and where additional supplies were at. No drinks were offered initially and they only checked on us once. To be fair, most people were so engrossed in the task at hand they werent interested in drinks.

My friend was in town for a bachelorette weekend and Upstairs Circus went above and beyond to help me make her experience at the LoDo location unforgettable. First, though they were completely booked on the day I needed, their staff still made it work so that we could join. Next, I asked if it would be possible to pre-decorate our craft area for the bachelorette. Of course, they were completely happy to let us do it and even offered to set up the decorations for me, doing an incredible job of it. Finally, the service and experience while we were there was remarkable—great drinks and friendly people.
