We purchased an online driver education course for our fifteen-year-old daughter at All Star in December of 2018.Colorado requires fifteen-year-olds to complete a 30 hour course, which cannot be taken quickly because mandatory breaks are incorporated into the curriculum. Also, All Stars system was down several days while she attempted to work on the course. Nevertheless, she completed the course before her birthday in early February.When we went to get her permit on her birthday, the Colorado DMV couldnt find any record that she had completed a drivers education course.I made numerous phone calls over several days to All Star. I was told that there was a system outage, or that her records were somehow delayed by an ice storm, or that her records would be updated within a day. Many times I was unable to get through to anyone. I left messages which were never returned.Frustrated that I wasnt getting anywhere, I tracked down the Colorado State Agency that coordinates with the third-party driver education businesses and was told that All Star was no longer authorized to offer driver education in Colorado.Their accreditation was revoked in mid-January, yet they never bothered to inform us. They also failed to mention this each time I called them. One might come to the conclusion that they lied to me.I eventually spoke with a supervisor at All Star named Mike (who refused to give me his last name). He was apologetic and promised to refund our fee. After a month, when that still hadnt happened, I called Mike again and he said he would take care of it. As of early April, he has not.The folks at the CO DMV were very helpful and eventually agreed to honor my daughters course work. She got her permit several days after her birthday. Because Colorado requires teens to drive with a permit for 365 days, she wont be able to get her license on her 16th birthday. That isnt the end of the world, but its disappointing.The most frustrating part is that if I hadnt been persistent about trying to figure out what was going on, weeks might have gone by before we got any answers.I am very unhappy about my experience with All Star.
