I went here kindergarten through fifth grade and didn’t enjoy school. They do a very bad job of teaching English, starting in third grade with only on hour a week. Going into middle school I was really behind my peers with knowing the English language and not fully understanding simple concepts, like multiplication and division. It is also really hard to keep your Spanish because you know so much more than most of your other classmates.

Love DLS! My daughter is learning Spanish and has had teachers from Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador. The middle school is downtown so its kind of a drive but luckily you can take the bus from their East Campus, Whiteman. A few people over the years have asked me how shes going to learn English, she was one of about half a dozen students that made it to the DPS spelling bee first round oh, so I think she knows her English pretty well ...

Im still amazed my daughters are learning Mandarin in the heart of Denver. Its a lot of work but the staff and community are up to the task at DLS! This year grades 4-8 are at this campus, yet next year I believe the plan is for only grades 6-8 to use this campus. Parking is tricky because as its along the street and there are various bus routes along the school grounds yet they do an excellent job all things considered.

You have to try really hard to not like this school. The teachers are great, the subjects and best of all you can learn a WHOLE NEW language in kindergarten. It doesnt get quite better than that.

Denver Language School is a great school... I have made many wonderful friends here that have helped me out throughout the 6 years I have attended. Some kids might say things like i hate this school but really i think we are all pretty attached to it because of our friends. The teachers are cool sometimes... some might not be the best at comforting us students but there are those teachers who become close with us students and later on become not only good teachers but our friends. I hope this helps you decide whether to put your child into the school or not but if you do I hope they enjoy!!!

I love DLS. Our child now speaks Spanish very well and it hasnt hurt her ability in English or in other subjects like math or science. More importantly, she has teachers who care about her, and a community that places great importance on growing to become a good person and a global citizen. The leadership and teachers care so deeply about all the kids and are constantly looking for the best practices in education. I feel so lucky to send my child to this gem of a school.

Weve been incredibly pleased with Denver Language School. Our daughter has been there for three years now and our son will start kindergarten in the fall, both in the Spanish program. The school really supports the whole kid - its not just teaching to the test. Shes not only becoming completely fluent in another language, shes learning how to think critically, to be a leader and a global citizen, and to problem solve. The teachers and administration are very communicative and helpful any time I have any questions, and I love how proactive they are about creative a positive learning environment and providing for my daughters needs before I even know she has them. I highly and without reservation recommend Denver Language School to any parent looking for a language immersion experience in the Denver area. I cant wait for the kids to learn Chinese in the 5th grade - I may have to step up and learn it myself!

I was a student there when it just opened. I had to revisit some pretty simple math that I did not learn there. Currently in 8th grade and thats pretty embarrassing to revisit subtraction.

Hiring someone like Cameron Hays who openly uses biased political language to admittedly brainwash young children is disgusting. Avoid if you care about your kids!
