I felt the conditioning was not solely up to the instructor but was also shared by students. Creating togetherness and unity. The solidarity makes this a great place to train if your looking for consistent teaching and also companionship from fellow students.

I am so glad I found this Shaolin Kung Fu school, the students and teachers are all kind amazing people. The instruction and material is top notch and they have so much detail and diversity of forms and training that it really transforms you into a new better person. You never get bored because there is always more to learn. It is a fun and very fulfilling lifetime journey.

I have loved this art for ten years. I will study it until the day I die. Words fail me to say how much pride and joy I have to be part of this school. Eat bitter and you shall taste sweet.

I started attending classes here because I wanted to practice Tai Chi. I had no interest in Kung Fu. But after a year of practice and watching the external training, I decided to go ahead and jump in. It has changed my life! When I moved further away from the school, I tried attending classes at a different school for 6 months, and it had nothing on Shao-Lin. Returning to the Shao-Lin school was like coming home. Ill never voluntarily leave again. I am stronger in body, mind, and spirit than I have ever been in my life. I want my children to grow up being taught by Matter David and Master Sharon. I recently tested to first degree black belt, and I consider that one of the greatest achievements of my life. I would recommend this school to anyone!

I went here for over a year, about twice per week. One of the masters talks to the point I felt it disrespectful to the time and money we invested. Most days, in the middle of learning a technique, a few Masters would stop to talk about politics, movies, more politics, Netflix shows and books for LITERALLY a half hour at a time (I counted), often irrelevant to what we’re learning.Other Examples:-Paid $50 for a 2 hour class in Drunken Boxing –The instructor goes off on tangents for first hour. By the end of the second hour, he told so many stories that he never finished teaching the class. We did not go through the technique enough times to remember how to do it by the next day.-Wooden man class is supposed to start at 7 PM – The Master is talking shop and says class will start soon. I leave at 7:45 because he’s still talking. The teacher asks me the next day why I didn’t stay around for class.-They are oblivious to how much they talk, compared to how little they teach. The teacher asks how one of my techniques is going, 1 week prior to a belt test. I tell him I have not been taught the technique he is referring to (despite going to class twice a week), and he didn’t understand why.If you want to go to shoot-the-breeze about random and occasionally learn kung fu, without getting much exercise, go here.If you decide to go, Do NOT bring up politics, movies or Netflix. Do NOT ask about the difference between Shao-Lin and other kung fu. He’ll talk for a half hour about why his is the best, and then forget that he was supposed to be teaching it. You won’t even be able to have a conversation with them because they won’t let you get a word in. I promise you I have LITERALLY stood there for 30 to 60 minutes at a time being told long stories about nothing, while not learning kung fu.

Teaching traditional Kung Fu.2019 marks 40 years this amazing school has been teaching: animal styles. Weapons of all kind: Sai, double hook swords, broadsword, straight sword, spear, tonfa, chain whip - just to name a few. They also teach traditional Tai Chi and Chi Kung - internal martial arts, as well as, conditioning your body with wooden man training. The workouts are fun, challenging and theres always exciting material to learn. I would highly recommend this school whether you are just starting out and have never had any martial arts training or have always heard about the vast curriculum of Shaolin Kung Fu.This year marks 30 years as a student there and I would be lost without the mental conditioning, breathing and physical exercises they teach you!
