My 3 y.o. son and 1 y.o. daughter (both typically developing) attend Rise. My son started there when he turned one. I love the school. My kids are excited to go to school and come home with all sort of knowledge that surpasses some of their same age peers I see going to other schools. But what is really important is that my kids are so comfortable with disabilities. My hope is to create empathetic kids and not ones that contribute to the bully culture in society. The teachers are amazing!

The Rise School offers one of the most amazing and unique preschool experiences in Colorado. The school combines typically-developing and special needs children in supportive classrooms with incredibly low student-to-teacher ratios, highly educated teachers (bachelors degrees and working towards masters degrees in early childhood education or special ed) and weekly therapy (OT, PT, speech and music) for all kids. We had two typically developing kids go through Rise and could not have been happier. Our kids are more understanding of other peoples abilities and differences, are more patient and tolerant of their friends and each other, and were challenged academically by the teachers and the curriculum. And, the price is terrific for the services that you receive. We had such a wonderful experience that I am continuing to support the school as a board member. If raising a well-rounded, open-minded, empathetic, and understanding child is important to you, you should check out the Rise School.

All three of my kids go to the Rise School of Denver. One of the three kids has quite a few special needs and the inclusive environment has been amazing for her. Moreover, my two kids without special needs have both been challenged academically and have learned to be compassionate and treasure diversity. The teachers are highly qualified and go above and beyond each and every day. The Rise School of Denver has truly made a positive difference in our lives and in those of my children.

Our son attends the Rise school and we cannot imagine what things would be like if we hadnt learned about this school! When he started he was 2 and could not yet walk, but with some amazing interventions, therapists and staff there, he was walking within 2 months of starting, signing, and other amazing things! We are so thankful for this school and will be sending our daughter who does not have special needs there this fall.

I had heard many good things about the Rise School of Denver, and sadly was really let down when I toured the school. I was met by the Director who then took me around the building where I observed classrooms that were in session. Staff was busy texting on their phones during circle-time, and the Director did not seem to have a problem with it, as she said nothing to this employee. I observed the Pre-K classroom and expected to see some structure, however the students were tripping over each other in the small classroom while doing free-play, which looked very chaotic. My family is close friends with a family whose children had attended the Rise School and they raved about the friendly staff, however I was left rather unimpressed. I asked how teachers handle discipline in the classroom and was told that children are put in time-outs. One classroom even had a chair designated for misbehaving children!! The Director came across as being very snotty and dismissive, and did not give off the warm and friendly vibe that I would hope would be present at a preschool. In fact, it seemed as if she cared more about how much money my family could contribute to the school as opposed to what the school could offer my children. The building itself is very small and the playground looked very hazardous to a childs safety. The classrooms were rather dirty and cramped full of stuff. There are no windows looking into the classrooms for parents to peek in on their child, which most of the schools Ive toured have had. Unfortunately, the Rise School left a bad taste in my mouth.
