Wow! Im so sad I didnt know about this book store sooner! Its much bigger than it looks, and has an AMAZING selection of adult and kids books. The kids section was huge, filled with books, reviews from kids, toys, and TONS of learning resources. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Found this charming gem in my neighborhood and absolutely love it! The abundance of book options is fantastic, and they have an incredible childrens selection, as well as childrens area for playing. Theres a lot of neat gifts here, and they also gift-wrap automatically every book that you buy, if its a gift. Excellent customer service. I cant wait to return! And yes, bring cash for savings on books.

I stumbled upon The Bookies this summer when I was looking for alternative local bookstores to support and, as a teacher, I fell in love with their mission and history. I hadnt been able to shop in-store at the time, but today I went to pick up my most recent online order and finally got a chance to wander around. It was delightful! From a healthy adult section to the plethora of books for all kids to an awesome selection of teacher books, I found my new go-to local bookshop. Ill be back!

The best independent bookstore in Denver. The staff are extremely helpful and they make great recommendations. This is the store to go to for teachers and parents. Its also a great place to get books for friends, adults. And of course yourself!! They even gift wrap. Personal favorite for over 30 years! Truly a one-of-a-kind shop and theyve been great!!!!

They have almost everything for everyone, from beginning books for infants to the best high school fiction or nonfiction, not to mention books for parents, and for adults in general, and especially for teachers. Public school teachers, private school teachers, tutors, home school teachers - Ive seen them all at The Bookies, because they know they will find what they want there.The Bookies has many more books than the childrens department at the TC, and - just as importantly - the store also has more staffers to help customers. I usually encounter one or two staff at most at the TC, but The Bookies always has half a dozen staff on duty, and sometimes more. Almost all the staffers are former or current teachers, too. They are incredibly erudite and very well-informed, and they love to help.Theres one more way in which The Bookies has the edge on its larger competitor: they have better toys, tools, gizmos, and gadgets. I can become a little worried about The Bookies, though. Its not easy to find for some people. The store is housed in a small, undistinguished strip mall with a miscellany of other businesses. This bookstore is a refuge! I am grateful for a locally-owned neighborhood bookstore where I can peruse and explore information in an analog environment. The staff are kind and helpful, and they’ll leave you the hell alone when you just want to browse in privacy. The fact that this store is on fire in ratings here and has stayed in business - even after [sc]Amazon essentially monopolized the book (and everything else) market - is a testament of its value to our community. While the primary purpose of this bookstore is educational books (and other realia), it has an admirable selection of conventional adult-oriented books. It also has a delightful array of stationery, home library décor, informative posters, educational toys, and other reading accoutrements. Plus, if your book is not in stock, you can ask this bookseller to order it for you – and support a locally owned business in the process!

This is a great local Denver bookstore that has a great selection of books, games and other gifts. I had a list of books from Christmas wish lists, got on their website, easily navigated what they had in stock, ordered and received a call two days later they were ready for pickup. They made it so easy to shop local. Thank you!

I ordered from bookies during COVID and was pleasantly surprised! They offer an automatic ten percent discount on the books while ordering online and picking up was awesome. You call a number (once your order is ready) in which they will bring your order out in a paper bag and place on the table by the door. There are designated spots to park and they are wearing mask which I appreciate. Thank you and I will be ordering more to support our local businesses! The staff was also very friendly and wanted to ensure the experience was amazing.

A wonderful place to find a book to enjoy during the covid quarantining. You can walk in or make an appointment. You do sign in when you enter the bookstore with name and phone number during the pandemic. Numerous children books. Nice notecard selection too. I enjoy visiting this bookstore whenever in this area of Denver.

This place is amazing. The selection is full of fun surprises and familiar favorites. Theyre very accommodating for events, the staff is friendly, and the cafe always has fun, themed drinks. Highly recommend.

I love this little book store. Not only are there a ton of books you dont find in Barnes and Noble, the staff is awesome as well. We have attended the story hour a few times and my 2 year old loves it. They have adorable little chairs to sit on and always do a craft or activity to engage the children. And the selection of books is so incredible. My kiddos library is getting amazingly diverse and expansive with each visit we make to this charming book paradise.

I have ordered several puzzles from Bookies during quarantine - their customer service is top notch and they get things mailed out very quickly!

Bookies is THE BEST for kids books, and also for games you can give as gifts. I go there often to buy presents for my grandkids. The staff always suggests good items. And they are amazingly generous, even when I buy lots of items, about wrapping each item, all for free.

The art of the children’s bookstore has been lost in so many communities. The Bookies Bookstore is a rare treasure. Books, game, and puzzles, oh my! The staff is wonderful! You will not be disappointed.

Im an estranged grandpa who is getting in touch with his grandchildren. I had no idea what to bring them when I would visit them. The staff asked me a few pertinent questions. Lead me to the correct area of their store. Made suggestions. Left me to look around. To make a long story short, the grandchildren were very happy with their gifts, the parents had a surprised expression on their faces, and Im in like Flint.

This store offers an excellent selection of books for all levels of readers, from Pre-K to Adult. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Great resource for teacher and home schooling supplies. (And 15% discount for cash...)

Me and my daughter LOVE this place. There are so many things there. Its not just a bookstore, youre walking into a whole new world. There are books, of course for people of all ages as well as games, toys, crafts, puzzles, supplies for school. There are amazing interactive things around every corner. You can lose track of time in there. I love it, we find new things every time we visit. The employees are helpful, the prices are great; they even give discounts and have complimentary gift wrapping. I enjoy every moment we go and we go at least once a week. I reccomend this place for everyone.
